Self directed Roth IRA, anyone playing ball?

Peter Thiel invested his initial Roth funds in PayPal prior to IPO. The stock went to the moon. Then, rinse repeat. The average Joe/Jane just needs to find those kind of PayPal investments prior to IPO.

    Atlanta Travel Suggestions

Have dinner at Sun Dial Restaurant on top of Westin Peachtree Plaza (73rd floor) in downtown Atlanta. The elevator rides up the side of the building (fear of heights alert!). Views are amazing from the top. World of Coca-Cola.

What’s the best credit card to get?

With Chase CC’s I have (Marriott Bonvoy and Hyatt), they offer payment plans with special low interest rates. So, you can spread out a $500 or $2000 purchase (for example) over say 6 or 12 months. You pay a small fee as well. I haven’t tried it, but looks like something that @Tank could take...

What’s the best credit card to get?

Im no CC rewards Guru, but I’d find a rewards card that matches your spending habits. Costco Citi looks good if the rewards work for you. I’ve read Chase Sapphire Visa is good (2% on everything and good redemption for flights/hotels). Fidelity has 2% back on everything if you deposit the cash...

    Superbikes at Texas

Hopefully last 100+ degree day in DFW. Certainly going out as a scorcher of a day! I bet that’s a good track for Superbikes?

Am I too fat and old to water ski?

I’d try both. They serve slightly different purposes. I need to take my own advice on this too. I skied this summer for first time in 4 or 5 years. Popped right up even though way out of shape. I’m 47, with no injuries in my life, so no problem. You just need to assess any ailments and...

Am I too fat and old to water ski?

Big Daddy ski and these to help hand strength (my grandpa used this type of grip all the time):

Ford cuts Lightning payments in half…

The range he was getting was no where near the 275 miles. Whether the Rivian is a better choice, you know’s. Not my money wasted on overpriced subpar range EV vehicles.

    RIP Jimmy..

Oh no, not Buffett!! His music was woven into my childhood. RIP Jimmy. Thanks for the wonderful music. What a life you lived!

Ford cuts Lightning payments in half…

As soon as the auto makers take away the purchase option 😂👎

Ford cuts Lightning payments in half…

A co-worker’s uncle parked his Lightning and bought a Rivian. The usable range (not towing) with the Lightning was so bad, the uncle was constantly worried he’d be stuck with no place to charge.

    12yo Student Death

I couldn’t imagine this happening to one of my kids. Horrible. I hate hearing about these events. Lots of speculation. So, I’ll just add the following. PE teachers many times are also athletic coaches at the school. They should have a good gauge of their student’s abilities. Also, they...

    Whats your take on this?

What do I think? Cyclist is a dumbass. So is the MH driver. Looks like wide shoulder - at least in that location. If that road isn’t a “bicycles can use full lane”, then they should ride single file. If there’s debris in the shoulder (or bike lane), you can ride outside (into vehicle lane)...

When Is It Time For New Phone……….

Personally, once my phone hits 4 years, it’s a challenge to see how long it lasts. If the battery health hits 80%, a new battery installed at an Apple Store is cheap. Once a phone no longer accepts the latest iOS, I consider the phone done and I replace it.

Future of Car Culture and Values.

Badass! I had those Weld Dragline’s on my Chevelle for 25 years, and recently changed them out to Torq-Thrust II as I wanted an 18” wheel with classic looks (I still love Draglite’s though). Anyway, I didn’t buy my Chevelle for investment purposes or worry about the resale value. It’s not an...

    High School Football

SJB travelled to Allen, TX last year and beat Allen 54-12. So, two years in a row a CA smashed a TX team. There was a nod towards the overall experience of a TX high school football game. I agree, it’s definitely another level.

Future of Car Culture and Values.

I think the values will continue to rise or at least ebb and flow with the economy, but not decline. The last of the boomers is a good 15 years away. Gen X will inherited these old cars and money and keep the values up. My 13 year old daughter wants my ‘71 Chevelle, so there is interest...

    I HATE THEIVES

Ace Hardware at 1536 Champlain Dr Fresno, CA shows a Stihl MS 391 in stock. Opens at 7am. 559-214-0079. I bet an Ace Hardware further up the 99 would also have one in stock. Edit: Ace in Turlock has one in stock. 3051 Geer Rd (209) 850-4913.

    I HATE THEIVES

Try Jensen & Pilegard. One location on Blackstone in Fresno (559) 222-3731, and another location nearby in Clovis on Clovis Ave (559) 299-3161. They may not have that specific model, but are a full service power equipment store. I purchased all my lawn equipment there. Sorry to hear of the...
