The 500’s are so dialed in with temp and humidity tables, along with digital boost control, that they are not dramatically effected performance wise with ambient temperature.
Short answer: no
Like Tony says, dialing in is about a lot more than the big hero number. We will generally use the top speed with each pitch of propeller as a comparative efficiency study. However, we want the boat to have the best manners from idle to top speed with a variety of weight loads in a variety of...
Yes hard anodized head castings do make a difference in terms of inhibiting corrosion.
For the OP, the edelbrock hard anodized marine heads would be a good option for the horsepower range and cost effectiveness.
If you’re shooting for over 800, AFR is the way to go, sized appropriately for...
Agreed way too much cam, heads, and compression for boat use. Obviously it’s a bad ass NA race setup and could be turned down a notch or two in cam and compression and work in an NA marine race style application… but that still would be a long way from practical in a pleasure boat
I miss it too. Likely next time will be the DCB regatta, unless I’m there for a delivery of a new M37.
We are balls to the wall setting up the new facility.
Your brother is not giving you good advice.
Cruising at steady state low boost 4000 rpm is easy on the supercharger.
Doing repeated pulls to 5000 under boost would literally be harder on everything in/on the engine.

Running them full time could be a pain in the ass because the moisture in marine environment kills sensors, especially in super high performance that are on the edge of reversion etc…
I would highly recommend installing bungs into every header or tail near the header/tail flange, then you can...
