Cable & Power just went out in Venice for about 5 minutes. Reset now.
My wife gets minute by minute updates all day.......... scheesh

Our niece and her little family are in Tampa area. Sun City Center to be exact. We are keeping one eye on it. They aren't evacuating, but they have all of their storm coverings over their windows. I think they should sandbag their doors also, but I don't want to sound like a nervous nelly. I did suggest she fill her tubs with water. She responded that they have plenty of bottled water, but I think she filled her tubs anyway. They have propane to cook with and plenty of non-perishable food.

Where are you at again, AJ?

Brother in law lives about a block from the beach on Venice Island and decided to stay. Single story apartment.
Wife spoke to him yesterday and said he's freaking a bit.
He's young healthy and single so im not to worried about him. Other than he's a total dumbass. Zero survival type skills.
No type of camping equipment to cook with or even boil water.
He says he has a weeks worth of food, water, full tank of gas and some extra batteries for his flashligh.
Wife and MIL are freaking...

Very kind and generous offer. Almost had family traveling to FL from Hawaii and could have needed similar assistance but they cancelled the trip on Monday. Thank you for your willingness to connect people in need. 👍

My brother just texted where he is at in Ft Meyers it's not the water surge he has to worry about but the winds he said up to 80mph now with gust over 100mph.
the next few hours will be interesting he said. He's been through a few of these but.........🤞

Update from Pompano Beach

Wind is gusting at 45mph. It seems higher to me. I think it’s because my building creates a vortex.

We are under tornado watch till 5pm.

Also…… On the news, Tampa Bay has receded at a record level. It show people out savaging. They will probably find hundreds of anchors and sunglasses. That actually looks like it would be a cool thing to do. Just saying
