I’m south of Jacksonville on Julington Creek, I’ll do a few more things tomorrow but it is what it is. I’ve got 770 gallons of propane so I’m ready if the power goes down, the 25kw will run a long time on that. Here’s some pics from the dock tonight.

Had a young friend sit out Hurricane Michael which came ashore in the FL panhandle as a Cat 5. He was in Port St Joe, near Mexican Beach FL. He later said he would never do it again.

Man we used to camp at St. Joseph State Park when I was a kid!! I've got so many incredible memories from that place!!!!!

AJ……. It’s not looking to good for you. I wish you the best. Shoot some video for those of us that are curious as to what it’s like to be almost in the eye of a Cat 4 hurricane. It should be real experience. Be safe!

My dads winter house is just east of Estero Bay, between Bonito Springs and San Carlos Park.
When I talked to him today, he does not see FL occurring this winter for him. Says the forecasted surge is going to do some serious damage

That fucktard don lemon was using the hurricane news to promote climate change every person he interviewed he tried to spin it as the result of climate change and the noaa guy shut him down and then he starts asking the police guys about climate change as if they know anything about it:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If any of you are in a RV escaping the storm I have very good friends/ family in Cairo Georgia and I’m sure I can make a phone call and you could be set up with a place for full hook ups away from the cluster f*%^.

Last year around this time was about when I got knee surgery while at AJs house.

Yep…everytime I checked the path it looked like there was more a possibility of this ;(

Talked to him earlier and they are all buttoned up.

Man I hope you guys are safe throughout the night. Are you getting any water blowing through the windows or around the frames?? That is always a problem at one of my parent's places on the beach.

From the photos he posted earlier, there was already some standing water on his property. I'm hoping for the best for everyone down there.

Yes….. Our main view window is whistling. Water coming through bottom of frame. We will be addressing this issue! Lol

I know the feeling! Can you guys install metal hurricane shutters on the outside of your building? I know those help out quite a bit. Some places don't allow them because of how they look, so.....

We are one of the few units in our building that don’t have them. I guess it was an option for the original purchasers of our unit. They chose not to get the hurricane shutters, and instead, spend that money on crown molding. Lol. We hate the crown molding. We are remodeling soon.

The windows are hurricane rated, otherwise shutters are required. The leak sucks though.

Fuck.

Today I have to leave my moms house just north of Daytona and go to Jacksonville. Brother that is in nursing home is freaking out about this storm. I have posted before about him dying of cirrhosis. Actually, can't believe he is still alive. Anyway the nursing home is saying I need to come up there and calm him down. I told them to turn off the fucking news and he will forget about it. They say the need to keep it on for the the others.

Booked a room at the Marriott to ride this out. Hopefully, it doesn't flood to much there. Worried about the St John's backing up. So with worrying that we will lose our place in Sarasota I have to deal with this. Hope the power stays on there.

Hope everyone else in FL stays safe.

Prayers and well wishes to anyone in this storms path. We were lucky last night in the Keys. About 1’ of water in lower level of shop and no wind damage. Only a TS here with 70mph winds. If not for the King Tides we would have been fine.

Thanks. I guess the good news is we will probably just take off from Jacksonville and head to TN. As Singleton said movement may be too difficult to go check on our place in Sarasota for awhile. That is unless my mom needs help and I have to go back south to help her.

It sounds like travel thru central and west Fl would be treacherous if not impossible.

Talking with my uncle yesterday he basically said the same thing, he thinks it's gonna turn into a 5, he said the gulf water is too warm for it not to. Prayers for everyone for sure. Tried calling grandma this morning and she didn't answer, but it rang so she has cell service.
