They've been telegraphing this for almost two weeks now. End of last week, the Houthis moved out a bunch of their longer range, more advanced rockets.

Turkey has stated they are debating moving in to help the Palestinians. That could be a shitshow. Israel has told Turkey that they would destroy them too. Seeing as though we have bases, troops and nukes in Turkey, it's just all kinds of bad news.

Been a lot of shit going on in the back round as you mentioned and the skank would like it all to end before the election. I hear her's and Bibi's meeting went real well.... 🤣

Hell, get this: In Mali there has been fighting amongst the ISIS and Toureg rebels who have aligned themselves, and the government there. The "government" seems pretty sketchy at best, but has Wagner mercs (mostly, but not all Russian) on their side. Last week, there was a pretty well organized ambush of Wagner troops. Organizational skills aren't their strongest...normally. What caught the other side of the world a bit off guard, the rebels posing on the battlefield with a Ukraine flag. Weapons looked to be a mix of 74's and AR platform.

Anyone else remember in '22 when the Russians shot down the Ukraine transport plane? It was shot down headed south, crew of 4...big fire. It was big news here for all of 30 seconds. The weapons are not reaching Ukraine, and neither is all the money. I really think the billions aren't just to make people rich, but a cover to use the money elsewhere.

What if China or Russia steps in?
We freed up funds for both Iran and the Palestinians. They used that money to attack Israel. Israel then goes straight Holy war, vowing to kill all Palestinians. We then supply the weapons to do so. The media, both east and west, have been showing the killings of young and old...things that always happened, but never shown. Like they are trying to cause discord amongst the citizens of the countries supporting the war. I don't know who's pulling the strings, but the goal seems to burn it all down.

I used to think it was just them, then I saw Republicans pushing for the same. That, and really, very few of our "leaders" are bright enough to orchestrate some of these things. They really seem to be puppets, but lead to believe they are in charge and are smart. It really looks like they think these are their own thoughts, but they aren't.

It would be a shit show, but neither China nor Russia don't want to get fucked up by us. Their militaries are still very inferior to ours.
Although I still believe this to be true, I also know that inferior militants can still kill. Harm isn't easily inflicted upon the soldiers, that requires much more effort, planning and equipment. As we learned from 9/11, softer targets are not the same.

Add to this, millions of undocumented assholes. What may only be a localized attack, say on the Port Of LA, could cause regional instability. Same with attacks on things as simple as transmission lines. Shut off the power in LA for a couple days, and it would be ugly.

Why start a war, when you can have the opponent hobble themselves?

They are not battle tested, china's army is massive compared to ours but zero experience which translates into poor battle training. Sadam had a 150k troops either go AWOL or surrender to 50k (ish) of our troops within weeks of us showing up in Kuwait, we were battle tested and trained, they weren't. Russia now has something to fall back on to change up their training, while it will not have any effect on us it will on some other countries.

China and Russia have bodies, and no fear of using them as fodder. That's scary on it's own. As for Russia being more battle tested though, I don't believe so. Just as the US in Iraq or Afghanistan, the opposition isn't as advanced. The Ukrainian tech really seems to be our or NATO's older stuff. So, in a way, Russia has put some miles on their stuff, but hasn't yet messed with an equal opponent. In many ways, neither have we on a large scale.

Lots of variables. Only a fool would underestimate an opponent when the stakes are this high. No matter what, lots of dead fathers, brothers and sons. I really don't want to see it...but it seems it may be upon us soon.

Just logistics alone give the U.S. military a huge advantage. My unit crossed the border into Iraq in 91 and did not stop until we were almost at the Euphrates. The amount of fuel, food and ammo being moved to support the war machine was awe inspiring. If there is one thing we are good at its war. Putin himself said going head to head against the U.S. in a conventional war is crazy.

What scares me, is all the old school guys that were in charge retired. The younger guys that came up did great...and then Obama happened. I just pray the troops can do what they were trained for, and politicians don't ruin it...if they are needed.

Russia isn't battle tested however they have learned a thing or two in the last couple of years and they will change up their training. The more experience they get stronger they get.

Those in charge are so confident and outright evil they just tried to assassinate Trump knowing full well there is no downside for them

I've listened to several experts on this subject and sadly that is not their view. The United States military is not what it was. It has been infiltrated by woke policy and questionable leadership. In 2020 recruitment numbers were down 59% from what they were in 1980. Colonel Douglas MacGregor has gone on record stating that the United States is not prepared for a war with Russia or China, and that there would be huge casualties on both sides. He also stated that the wars we have fought in the last 20 yrs have been against unorganized enemies with very limited capabilities.
Russia and China are both organized and well equipped. Currently, they are both in a better position to make war. China is building 30 ships in the time it takes the US to build just 2, and it now has the largest navy in the world with 370 ships and submarines to our 291.The US likely has the tech advantage but our industrial base is not prepared for a large drawn out conflict, and we lack adequate surge capability. One misconception that I think most Americans have is that wars will always be fought somewhere else. It is my opinion that a conflict with China or Russia could wind up here in the US, maybe even on your front lawn..

In the last century's wars, and those previous, our geography helped shield us from large scale attacks. Unfortunately, the world has become smaller due to human advancements. The big three players at the table all have means to strike anywhere on the globe within hours, even minutes. Cyber attacks can cripple a city, with no immediate fatalities, or hypersonic missiles can deliver warheads at speeds hard to defend against. The US said they placed our program "on hold", but I'm not sure I believe that. I believe we have a technological advantage, but the other players have more fodder to throw. It would be a series of events that would draw down the global population like nothing we've seen or read about.

Luckily, all out nuclear war is really just a dead man switch. China and Russia want our resources, from farmland to minerals and oil. Currently, they buy from us, so why not take the cow instead of buying the milk? Russia has massive resources, spread across a huge expanse...the reason we want to break them up into smaller pieces. China? Hell, we owe them so much money, we'd like them to go away.

I say we offer the Bay area to China, and DC to Russia, as peace offerings ;)

The Russian and Chinese equipment is inferior to ours. Look at Russia in Ukraine. If we would have invaded Ukraine, we would have taken the country in a few months at most. The Russian military is not what they were during the cold war and China may be building a huge military, but their tech is not close to us. Their military is also not battle tested at all. I do think China is a major threat, but they would be foolish to challenge us and other Nato countries head to head. I don't view Russia as much of a threat at all unless they want to use nuclear weapons. If I was in charge, I would tariff the fuck out of China and collapse their economy. Hopefully Trump gets elected, and we will see some tariffs back in place.

As I've said before, underestimating an opponent does not work out well. There is no "B" team in war. The US has not been battle tested by an equal on a large scale since the 40's. In the past few decades, we have mostly fought disorganized militants. Sadly, most all of them used tactics and skills we taught them to battle the Russians. Iraq and Afghanistan claimed way too many lives, but I feel that was from DC, not the soldiers.

The only winners in war are those that sell the means to kill. The house always wins, but the players pay for it.

I would never underestimate and opponent in war. I served on a two way range so I get the consequences. Our ability to project power is unequaled to date and hopefully is stays that way. I have a couple of friends that are former military (OIF vets) that work for a defense contractor developing weapons. They can't talk about their projects, but both tell me the stuff they are working on would blow my mind. Much better than stuff we fielded just 10-15 years ago. I think China is our real Longterm threat and it's crazy that we don't treat them like it. They should be treated like the USSR at the height of the cold war.

This is exactly my thoughts! I really don't feel Russia is a threat to us, not in a World War fashion at least. Economically speaking, they are coming up, but that seems to be due to their trade partners, like China and India. Most people my age and older still look to Russia as the most serious threat. China has been stealing, o trying to steal, tech from us for years. They have been on a war footing for years, and have been trying to manipulate us financially. They have been the ones most aggressive towards us in the recent years, and yet everyone looks the other way.

China, Russia and of course the US, probably all have tech they haven't let out. Several years back, when Russia fired up their black out truck in Syria, it shocked a lot of people. Until that point, most believed they had little to no tech in their arsenal. If they had that, then, what did we already have?

A guy I know through cars retired up here. He was an engineer for Allison and Detroit...sharp guy, raced midgets and holds Bonneville records. His daughter, I believe, is employed by the government, also an engineer. Her husband works for DARPA. I believe what was said "Someone has an idea, they make it a reality".
It's a matter of who has the ability to create, not just think of it...like the SR-71.

Dad knew who the enemy was. Killing Field of Dreams. Red Chinese in Korea. Where the M-1 30 cal. Carbine wasn't effective enough, and the Garand in 30-06 was needed to drop those little red bastards.

Doubtful if there is one like him now…sure hope so!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Spent a few hours drinking beer with him.

His book, "It Doesn't Take a Hero," is a good read. Army Brat growing up in the middle East.
I’ve read the book.
He was such a good man.
I went out to straighten out the beer stands at the Telluride bluegrass festival in 2001.
Saturday morning of the event after I got everything set up I look out at the crowd coming in and I see him.
I holler out, hey general if you ever need a beer come see me.
He turns around and looks at me and says I’m always ready for a beer!
So I bring him back behind the beer stand.
We had some bratwurst Cookin and obviously beer flowing and so I get him all set up, turn a couple kegs upside down, and we sat there for almost 2 hours just telling stories and talking.
it was awesome!
So he gets ready to leave. Says he’s gotta get home. Wife’s got dinner ready so we take the picture and he leaves.
I tell him if you come back tomorrow, you know where the entrance is to the VIP area!
Next morning, I’m standing there, about the same time, and Wham! from behind somebody hits me in the shoulder and it’s the general!
He says Dave when I got home last night the wife didn’t have dinner completely ready so I layed down on the couch and he says to me, “Dave, you did to me what Saddam Hussain couldn’t do. You knocked me on my ass!”
Probably the greatest compliment I’ve ever had!
Anyway, we had a couple beers and parted ways.
It just was a time I’ll never forget.
Great man!
Another funny thing is while he was with me people were walking up and saying “Dave is this your dad? “
As you can see, we have some physical resemblance!
