Outside of critical MOS ( think pilots and their close support personnel ) there are lot of mentally ill in the Air force.

I don't think money is the prize. I think the long term goal would be a pseudo takeover of part, or all, of the US. What if their goal is to take the western states? How much comes from those states and how much value could it be to them? I think a bit more than the drug trade, and no cartels to work with.
