O yea, I didn't mention the trailer is back at Trevors getting the back steps extended and adding the hinged spare tire mount
Lookin' good Andrew!:thumbsup:thumbsup
Good call on extending the trailer. It looks kinda funky when cav plates hang off the back of the trailer, like the boat doesn't fit...
The new gel colors are better than you decribed...adds an amazing amount of detail, really impressed. Trevor has stuff down! wish I could do that amout of work for a reasonable price, but he has it nailed! Can I have another ride with the blower motor, please? (maybe a night we are drinking slighlty less!)
Looks Great Andrew!! Holy shit what a difference!

Looks great Andrew!..........now go look at the 22'r I/O deal in Schiada spam and tell me that the 22 doesn't belong in the Games fleet! I'm thinkin that it would look great with Grampa Ray behind the wheel.

Lookin great. Boy I wish I had your free time. :grumble:
So a few weeks ago, I built the dolly so I don't have to step all over the trailer
Then I started cutting metal :champagne:
These pictures are of my transom brace that gets installed behind my pillow blocks
I cut the metal using my jig saw.
Then used a piece of 1/16" steel sheet metal as my router guide and cleaned up the edges
Its snowing Aluminum
Finished product
JJ (Beaverfab) is building me a drop through strut and a drop through turn fin. I will be getting that at the end of the month.
I am also receiving a Brand new Polished stainless Rudder from Tom Patterson at the end of the month.
This weekend I will cut all my motor rails and fab up the steering
Haha thanks. Here is how my days consists. Work from 7:30am -6pm (or later) then work on the schiada or crackerbox to about 10.
On the weekends usually work on the boats from 10am -8pm, go home, shower and then hit the local bar:drunk.
I can't even begin to tell you how many packs of cigs I smoke while working on the boat. :bash:
Thats been my schedule for the past few months :bash:
Have a kid. That'll all end.

No doubt djunkie......
I will buy that dolly when you are done - let me know....
bumpin for andrew, look everyday for some updates..:thumbsup
Sounds good. It will be a few months before I move the boat back on the trailer.
As far as the jig saw goes, here is the secret to cutting aluminum.
Try a metal jig saw blade that does not have the teeth too close. I will take a picture of the
Wood Blades work really well cutting aluminum, but dull quickly. I used about 3 packs of wood blades till I found these metal blades in the picture below. By far the best at cutting 1/4" aluminum :thumbsup
Are you going to polish or Anodize? Things are looking good, I was going through all of the pictures of it prior and will look forward to seeing it all together again
Better hope you have money left over for the anodizer after the polisher takes a nice bite out of your ass
Looking great :thumbsup
Whats up Bud. I will be Anodizing most of the parts red and black. Anodizing is easier to clean that going the polished route. I can't wait to finish these parts up and send them off to the anodizer

Looking great :thumbsup
To echo Racey most parts are polished then annodized.. If you want to save yourself a ton of cash, and do a little "different" look, then you can hit everything with a vibrating sander and get a nice uniform / slightly textured look.. It looks bitchen with black annodizing.

I will compare the cost between polishing and sanding. If the cost will save me a thousand bucks, then maybe I will just go with the sanding route. I don't mind the looks of either one, but when it comes to water spots and cleaning, the polished would be the easiest to take care of.
Absolutely worth going the polishing route, satin finishing the parts and then anodizing them will leave the surface porous and will make it a pita to clean. Make friends with a good polisher, they are usually pretty cool guys, if you are on friendly terms with them they will usually hook you up.
