O yea, I didn't mention the trailer is back at Trevors getting the back steps extended and adding the hinged spare tire mount :D

Lol.. The trailer is an important part of the package. ;)

Well, Kevin @ KMG really did a great job! Thanks again Kevin!
My shop lighting is doing weird things to the lines of the pictures, but everything is clean and straight!

I had Kevin add a 6 1/2" wide flat pad from the transom to 2' away from the bulkhead

Last Thursday I took the trailer back to Trevor @ Hampton Trailers to extend the rear steps

Thanks Guys. I will start rigging the boat this weekend. Tomorrow I am going to head to Home Depot and pick up some White Contact paper and wrap the outside and inside of the boat. Then I am going to build a dolly to keep the boat low to the ground so its easier to work on

Lookin' good Andrew!:thumbsup:thumbsup

Good call on extending the trailer. It looks kinda funky when cav plates hang off the back of the trailer, like the boat doesn't fit...

The new gel colors are better than you decribed...adds an amazing amount of detail, really impressed. Trevor has stuff down! wish I could do that amout of work for a reasonable price, but he has it nailed! Can I have another ride with the blower motor, please? (maybe a night we are drinking slighlty less!)

Definitely will look 10X's better. Plus I will have the comfort knowing some jackhole hopefully won't screw my boat up if they run into the back of the trailer

We will definitely need to go for a ride when the blower motor is in. Maybe a Ski sesh when the water warms up :thumbsup

Looks great Andrew!..........now go look at the 22'r I/O deal in Schiada spam and tell me that the 22 doesn't belong in the Games fleet! I'm thinkin that it would look great with Grampa Ray behind the wheel.

Thanksgiving weekend was the last time I had the boat on the water. Grandpa and I had a drink or two at Fox's and then headed back home. Grandpa told me to move the fock over, He's driving.

So he starts her out, stomps on the down pedal, stomps on the gas pedal, and red lines the summa bitch the whole way back to the house. At first I was worried about the motor. Then I thought to myself, Fock it, I got another motor in my garage :D

So a few weeks ago, I built the dolly so I don't have to step all over the trailer
P1000296.jpg

P1000303.jpg

Then I started cutting metal :champagne::D

These pictures are of my transom brace that gets installed behind my pillow blocks

I cut the metal using my jig saw.

P1000310.jpg

Then used a piece of 1/16" steel sheet metal as my router guide and cleaned up the edges

Its snowing Aluminum:D

Finished product

JJ (Beaverfab) is building me a drop through strut and a drop through turn fin. I will be getting that at the end of the month.

I am also receiving a Brand new Polished stainless Rudder from Tom Patterson at the end of the month.

This weekend I will cut all my motor rails and fab up the steering

Haha thanks. Here is how my days consists. Work from 7:30am -6pm (or later) then work on the schiada or crackerbox to about 10.

On the weekends usually work on the boats from 10am -8pm, go home, shower and then hit the local bar:drunk.

I can't even begin to tell you how many packs of cigs I smoke while working on the boat. :bash:

Thats been my schedule for the past few months :bash::D

Really? I must be buying shitty blades as I have had to bother folks with bandsaws to cut for me.....how long did it take? Looks great!

No doubt djunkie......

I will buy that dolly when you are done - let me know....

Sounds good. It will be a few months before I move the boat back on the trailer.

As far as the jig saw goes, here is the secret to cutting aluminum.

Try a metal jig saw blade that does not have the teeth too close. I will take a picture of the
Wood Blades work really well cutting aluminum, but dull quickly. I used about 3 packs of wood blades till I found these metal blades in the picture below. By far the best at cutting 1/4" aluminum :thumbsup

I don't really have to many updated pics. I bought some steering pulleys off mouzer and the bulkhead pulleys were a little tight. So I made a bracket to keep the proper spacing between the pulleys for smooth rotations.

Old Bracket

New Bracket

P1000326.jpg

P1000327.jpg

P1000328.jpg

I cut the L-metal with my band saw for my motor rails. Then I made this router table out of a old cavitation plate. I adjust my guide and slide the L-metal through to get a clean straight edge and proper width.

P1000335.jpg

P1000336.jpg

I mocked up the motor rails for a finaly cut

P1000337.jpg

P1000338.jpg

I started making my steering shaft supports, but did not snap any shots. :bash: When I finish that up tonight, I will make sure too take some pics.

At the end of the month, I get my strut, rudder, and turn fin. I have been kinda stuck on getting other parts mocked up until I get the under water gear installed

I have not posted pics lately so here is a update:

I made a bracket that mounts to the bulkhead and supports the end of my steering shaft. I still need to do a little bit of trimming, but for the most part, it is complete

This little bitch was a pain in the ass. My first time bending aluminum. Worked out well.

P1000365.jpg

P1000363.jpg

P1000361.jpg

I used my Ghetto Fabulous Frankenstein press to bend the aluminum.

Over the weekend trimmed the last bit of motor rail. Tonight I will drill the holes to mount the L-metal to the stringers.

Are you going to polish or Anodize? Things are looking good, I was going through all of the pictures of it prior and will look forward to seeing it all together again

Whats up Bud. I will be Anodizing most of the parts red and black. Anodizing is easier to clean that going the polished route. I can't wait to finish these parts up and send them off to the anodizer :D

Better hope you have money left over for the anodizer after the polisher takes a nice bite out of your ass :D

Looking great :thumbsup

Seriously...Luckily my polisher/anodizer guy is as cheap as it gets. I can probably get all the parts done for around $1.1K If I decide to polish the split cases and tranny then I might be able to get out of it for $1500

This project has :smackbum: big time :D

To echo Racey most parts are polished then annodized.. If you want to save yourself a ton of cash, and do a little "different" look, then you can hit everything with a vibrating sander and get a nice uniform / slightly textured look.. It looks bitchen with black annodizing.

I will compare the cost between polishing and sanding. If the cost will save me a thousand bucks, then maybe I will just go with the sanding route. I don't mind the looks of either one, but when it comes to water spots and cleaning, the polished would be the easiest to take care of.

Absolutely worth going the polishing route, satin finishing the parts and then anodizing them will leave the surface porous and will make it a pita to clean. Make friends with a good polisher, they are usually pretty cool guys, if you are on friendly terms with them they will usually hook you up.

I have been going to Rainbow Polishing for quite some time now. They finished all the parts on my flatty and crackerbox. Very reasonable pricing and I have not had a problem with the work yet. I will be dropping a load of parts off to them withing the next few weeks to get done up :thumbsup
