    Spectra 24XS thread

My recently deceased best friend's grandfather has a 24' Spectra with V-drive down in Havasu. I'm in the process of seeing about getting it from him so that I can do a resto on it. I spoke to him not long ago and he said there were a few stress cracks in the fiberglass and that it would need new...

    20 spectra

Great looking restoration! What would be a ballpark price on doing something similar to this? I have a friend with a 24' Spectra (V-drive) in about the same condition who's looking to do an overhaul/restoration job on it. Also, where are you located? Thanks and great job!

    Smith & Wesson 4006

I could never get used to the backwards ergonomics of the thumb safety/decocker on the S&W. The new M&Ps have the "correct" 1911 style thumb safety which I much prefer. They also have the changeable backstraps which help customize the size of the grip to the shooter's hand.

    Smith & Wesson 4006

Just some thoughts... The 4006 is a solid pistol and a pretty good duty handgun for uniformed patrol, CHP has loved theirs. However, for civilian CCW, the 4006 is a bit heavy, the safety is not ergonomic, and you give up a few rounds compared to other designs, you might find yourself better off...
