I think it was Ledecky's mom who said, "If I only had one day to live, I'd go to a swim meet because they last forever".
My sons just finished up their 17 year swimming careers. 4 year D1 athletes. Swimming is a brutal sport. 2-3 workouts per day, 6 days a week, 50 weeks per year.
Everything today is bigger, fatter and heavier.
New Porsche 992 GT3RS is almost a foot longer and 9 inches wider than a 930. Give me a 20' V drive and a 440/550 and I'm 100% content and that's from a guy that flew the USAF's hyper tech jets and still flies Boeing's newest stuff.
I liked it how it was with a very convenient airport. A short golf cart ride from your Lear 25 to the Islander or Site Six. SoCal to on the water in less than an hour.
I just have a different vision for progress.
I wouldn't call it hate, Id call it disappointment. The Nautical has definitely seen far better days. A beautiful piece of land that has unlimited potential.
Never really associated LH or AZ with humid. Maybe less dry, even in August. I once stayed at the Fujarah Hilton on the Gulf of Oman.. Couldn't see out my hotel window, it was covered in condensation. Not half as interesting as watching the Aeroflot pilots taxiing their 727-kis
across the dirt...
Be careful with the nomenclature of nonstop vs direct. Airlines like to "Sell" direct flights. Nonstop=same jet, not scheduled to stop (hopefully). Direct=same jet, same flight#, but could have multiple stops along the way. Hope your trip to the islands is less eventful.
Actually, they can if the actual taxi time exceeds the estimated taxi time. My company estimates taxi time, based on airport, aircraft type, time of day.
The domestic system is very messy. 10lbs of shit in a 5lb bag. Heavy demand, wide spread airport construction, inefficient ATC system, convective weather, aircraft shortages, and retirement of expertise. I flew a Boeing across the Pacific last night. Smooth with an early arrival. I try to stay...
There are two FAR Part 117 limits that must be complied with: (1) Max block time limit and (2) Flight Duty Period (FDP) limit. It's very likely that the crew in this case, despite their best efforts and due to the delay, were unable to get airborne without exceeding the FDP limit. I don't fly...
