Still going, although not as bad as last night
Has fire victim protections built in as well for those who lost their home to be able to buy somewhere else and transfer the base tax amount. Not sure how the value is created if they don’t build and sell though. Was added because of what the people near the paradise fire experienced.Yes Prop 19
Interesting. Something I didn't know until today.ATF does in fact investigate both fires and arson.
Don't know how true this is but thought I would share, she is from Pennsylvania
Fonda knows a guy with ATF that travels all over the US doing fire and arson investigations.I'm sorry, but WTH does the ATF have to do with fires? Firearms, yes. Fires, no.

Unfortunately, this is the norm amongst big departments. In my former life, almost 20 years ago , I was a fire apparatus mechanic. (crazy right X Hoser! ) Almost weekly, I talk to the guys that stilk work there that I worked with. It’s something like a 5 year minimum for any decent apparatus. The manufacturers are still having supply issues and lack of employees. I could go in depth about REV/KME but I don’t want to type that much. The fire shops are also behind the private sector in pay. Since Covid, they fell way behind the dealerships and independent shops. I think our last application period had 5 apps!!!

I find myself bringing tools to work to fix our junk.
You must have been looking for them.Have you been to LA lately? It's beyond fixing. It will never be a good operating area. Ever.
Think 3rd world city, the movie escape from LA, the border, ultra rich and ultra poor, failed infrastructure with no feasible plan to fix, crime, road rage, lack of respect for laws...all blended together.
I was on figeroroa Friday. Just south of downtown
About 20 'young adults" had the north 2 lanes blocked. All on bmx bikes doing wheelies down the street. 40 cars behind them. They could care less about anyone else.
That's LA, that can't be fixed. Ever. Doesn't matter who is running the city

Unless it’s changed since I rebuilt, just to clarify, you only pay the new tax rate on the additional square footage added, or major upgrade like additional bath. Not sure if it’s county specific, but when the Thomas Fire hit, people who lost homes were able to keep property taxes on existing sq ft. If they went bigger (more baths/sq ft), then it’s full market value
