I know the stoker runs into the 80s as it is now small prop (24p bravo), cooler, 4 adults, etc. I know he has done very little to the set up of the boat. Im thinking 90s isn't out of the question. Im surprised to hear that the schiada runs that well (if it does), you know schiada guys and their speed claims. :D

Both are great simple family type boats....Neither should be considered fast boats....

According the the Mesiah of OutBoards , The 22 Stoker should run mid to upper 80's which is very impressive for a stock 300hp on a 22 ft boat...., As Paul already stated the Schiada RT MPH number it is also impressive given the weight of the boat.

Now your boat will be something that will run triple digits and should be considered a fast boat....Looking forward to hearing how it runs....

Mines just a family boat ....:D

I can tell you for certain that my Blue O/B with the evinrude ran 87 with a 3 blade 28, it was a standard layup. Brians red boat is a light layup a couple hundred pounds lighter than my blue boat.

Barely broke 70s? He must not have known How to drive it.

I thought that too and we swapped seats. Nope. It just didn't run that fast.

Nice boat - not slamming the boat- just saying that from the showroom floor they didn't all do 90.

My buddies Baker tunnel that predated the Stoker - is even lighter and it didn't run that fast with the rude either 75/77.

I know stokers run when you mod the mills (so does everything) - but the stock units Ive been in and run against are a far cry from 90.

Then you don't know how to drive one either! lol

Don't feel bad. It takes HOURS of seat time to learn to drive that hull. Nobody gets in one and and takes it to 90, even after a whole bunch of tries.

I have had my buddies (20) 90 before, and its a fucking wrestling match. :skull And yes, it has a stock powerhead with the rev limiter removed.

The 22, set up right, is a whole different story. It's a whole bunch easier to drive. Someone with minimal seat time, but LOTS of boating experience, can make it go pretty fast, but still wont get everything it has to offer.

I'm not sure what all Bill is doing to his engine, but from what I can tell, it should do well over 100.

I can attest to that. I have spent many many hours driving stokers and no matter what I try Al can jump in the same boat and pick up 10 mph :( they are definitely drivers boats.

just doing a little 509ci EFI deal......Im hoping it will be fast enough to tow the kids tubing ;)

Ive heard that before- thats every manufacturers excuse when a customers new baby falls 10MPH short " you dot know how to drive it".

In the case of me not knowing how to drive it - your data on the Mig is incorrect.

Not only have I been driving my own I/O lavey tunnel since 93,
I drove the Baker in the above picts for several days every summer for a decade and a half.
Driving the stoker just wasnt much different.

I know well the upper body "outboard workout" and associated pull from using both a jack plate and trim concurrently.

Everybody had 10 more MPH before GPS, many were convinced they were going 90 because the speedo said it - when they were really going 80.

just like top athletes, Al went out on top. How many shitadas finished the enduro? Hell even in ski racing very few of the winning teams are running the antiquated trailer queens, if you want to win Nordic

......and this is quite sad.

Maybe its just me, but I will take my Schiada over any Stoker or Nordic ever made...

Dont get me wrong, The 22 Stoker Tunnel(Blown/TT-146mph), will kick the shit out of ANY Schiada(121mph with the Boostpower 21 TBD), and probably Randy's Awesome Nordic(135+ish) as well as the fastest 20 Stokers with built motors(123mph)

That being said... I love them all.

I think that would be a conflict of interest if I did that? If for some reason I found myself in a position that I was going to race it though, I'd drive it myself Joe.

No one in my family was ever into boating or the river. I kind of fell in love with it on my own. Have learned a whole bunch from this forum [emoji106].

Did ya learn that a guy that owns a pontoon boat has a buddy that has a stoker, and he drove it once and somehow became so good at driving it that he can make it go 10 mph faster then the owner? :D I learned that today. :D

Disagree on this one...

Oh c'mon Linder most of it is just jokes.. That being said though there's no way a Stoker is going to run in BIG water, especially if it's a washing machine. You can run a 21 RC through just about anything with no Drama.

I have ran the 224 in "big" Parker washing machine water as well as Havasu "big" water multiple times. I know you think plowing through rollers is "running through" anything, but If you think a stoker cant go out in rough water....you are mistaken....in fact a stoker will run considerably slower in flat or glassy water. but what do I know :D

You have seen that picture on the wall at the River house of our old race boat.....that's my definition of "big". growing up in fountains, skaters, hustlers and boating in Salt has altered what I would consider "big" water. this "Big" schiada water is laughable. Im sure a breezy day on havasu is your definition of crushing big water in a schiada. :rolleyes

This is one of my favorite all time threads.......but it never fails, next time I'm at the river some shitada owner is going to ask why I hate so much on their beloved seahorse.

I find the correlation between a sea horse and a schiada very fitting :D

Habitat

Seahorses are mainly found in shallow tropical and temperate waters throughout the world, and live in sheltered areas (garages)

Seahorses swim very poorly, Just like a Schiada in the Enduro
The slowest-moving fish in the world is H. zosterae (the dwarf seahorse), just like a small block schiada river cruiser

with a top speed of about 5 ft (1.5 m) per hour.[5] Seahorses have no caudal fin. Since they are poor swimmers, they are most likely to be found resting with their prehensile tails wound around a stationary object. hence why Schiadas are so often found with their tail wrapped around the trailer in the garage

The male releases his sperm directly into seawater pretty much like a schiada owner bench racing

The male releases his sperm directly into seawater,.[10] where it fertilizes the eggs,[11] which are then embedded in the pouch wall and become surrounded by a spongy tissue.[12] The male supplies the eggs with prolactin, the same hormone responsible for milk production in pregnant mammals. The pouch provides oxygen, as well as a controlled environment incubator. The eggs then hatch in the pouch, where the salinity of the water is regulated; this prepares the newborns for life in the sea.[13][14][15] Throughout gestation, which in most species requires two to four weeks, his mate visits him daily for ?morning greetings?. They interact for about 6 min, reminiscent of courtship. The female then swims away until the next morning, and the male returns to sucking up food through his snout.[13]

Birth

The number of young released by the male seahorse averages 100?1000 for most species, but may be as low as 5 for the smaller species, or as high as 2,500. When the fry are ready to be born, the male expels them with muscular contractions. He typically gives birth at night and is ready for the next batch of eggs by morning when his mate returns. Like almost all other fish species, seahorses do not nurture their young after birth. Infants are susceptible to predators or ocean currents which wash them away from feeding grounds or into temperatures too extreme for their delicate bodies. Less than 0.5% of infants survive to adulthood, explaining why litters are so large. These survival rates are actually fairly high compared to other fish, because of their protected gestation, making the process worth the great cost to the father. The eggs of most other fish are abandoned immediately after fertilization.damn schiada owners...lol
