He has people everywhere during the races.

that makes a lot more sense.. But I swear I saw a couple of interviews? how does that work?

I'm asking because how cool would that be at some of the larger boating events like LOTO? I'm wondering if it's even possible or if I could contract something like that to him for rdp etc..

Hopefully you two meet up and he can fill you in on how he does it.

I think there were a couple of guys willing to buy any spot for original MSRP? Wonder if they are still saying that.
No money to be made now. Why would they do that?

In an another note. I read on the interwebs that Todd and RG are cracking down on the warranty. So these cars with turbo and other issues might not get them fixed under warranty.

Has anyone read the warranties fine print?
Are these NOT transferable?

Let me know! I watched a lot of your social media stuff during the 1000.. I got a bazillion questions for you at some point..

Like
1. What is fishgistics? is it a biz that covers Offroad racing only?
2. I'm not familiar with the course (never done it) but it seemed like you were everywhere? in sometimes multiple places at once?
3. Are you using starlink or something for good internet in the middle of nowhere?
4. are some of the clips user submitted or is that other staff out on the course?
5. Do you have sponsors or advertisers that help offset the cost, or make it profitable? If so can you send me a media kit?
6. What does fishgistics do as a biz when not racing? or what do you do? day job? or is this full time?

Forgive my ignorance on a lot of this, I don't follow Offroad racing that close.. which I probably should because I have connections to a lot of the top trophy truck teams in one fashion or another.. Whether that's friends, friends of friends, boating relations, etc..

Here's what I know and found out about 50 miles or so into the first race I ever did.... When you see Fish or any of his guys on course, something "exciting" is about to happen!!! Hahahaha. They do NOT post up in a boring section of the course. When I see a pack of photogs standing on the roofs of their jeeps/trucks/sxs pointing their money maker at me, its not because Im hauling ass and breaking records... I let up on the skinny pedal a little and start scanning for the "exciting section"... hahahaha.

😳. Now I got more question. lol
Crazy thing... I was at PCI the morning of the Baja 1000 11/16. PCI Scott (Weatherman) ran out of his office to the bathroom, came flying back through, said hi and back to his office to continue his Weatherman duties remotely. All done by sat phones this year.

100% TRUTH, hahaha. First race I did was the Mint 400 in 2020... We are hauling ass down a nice flat road first lap... I see in the distance a helo hovering and like 4 trucks/jeeps with photogs all ready to get "the shot". I slow up a little and my codawg says "HAUL ASS, we are good, the notes say all clear" (Mint is a NO pre run race) I said "Then why the fuck are all these guys staged here...???" Sure as shit theres a big gnarly whoop section that were more like moguls on a ski run... we slow up, go through smooth and all good. Later the next week everybody was posting a video of two SXSs hauling ass into that section and a yellow one bounces a few times and barrel rolls 2 or 3 times.

RD says his cars cost 32k ish OTD when he jumped on it. Even with all of the issues, it sure sounds like you couldn’t even replicate the cars for under 45k today. That’s a lot of wiggle room to deal with these headaches.

The car could have been $20 and some people would still be pissed about delivery and warranties lol.

32 + acc + tax, title ect.

*** note acc were cheaper but still add up. Looking at RD add he has 10k in acc

So he is all in for less than 50k

Spectators & photogs don’t stand in the boring spots. If you see people in the middle of the desert, there’s a reason for it. Lol!

I dont want to clog up the Speed thread but since its your site heres a couple quick answers haha. PM me if ya want more.

1. Yes its a offroad news network basically with one employee :) offroad only.
2. I am at my house in my office during the races I am covering but I have people ALL over sending me updates, pics, videos, split times etc. Its awesome with starlink now.
3. Yes Starlink is HUGE
4. All of the clips are user submitted during the race
5. Yes I have some sponsors that help out. I am not getting rich but barely surviving living in San Diego CA the most expensive city in the US Lol.
6. I work for PCI Race Radios full time (remote) doing marketing and social media mainly but also some product development and testing.

I just entered the NORRA 1000 today and can't wait to put the Pro R up against some Speeds!!!!!

Robbie, Max and Todd will be at Rage at the river racing with me in my turbo car and my daughter in her proR, we have some fast teammates racing as well. Should be good times and 2 days of racing. We have I think 90 cars total in our heat so that’s a lot of cars on a 15 mile course all at the same time.

We get it, you're not a Speed fan, and most definitely not a Robby Gordon fan. But what you posted is purely gossip and rumor mill bullshit, especially since you couldn't back it up when asked?

You're posting that cars with "turbo and other issues might not get fixed under warranty", but you have no credible knowledge that your statement is true?

And please don't call me a Speed or RG fanboy, I honestly couldn't care less. I'm happy with my stable of "slow" Yamaha units, and might be a Speed buyer 3 to 5 years in the future if that.

Ok explain to me the turbo problems. A bunch of people who have turbo problems are not getting them fixed, why? I believe most are in warranty. There is one guy on the speed forums that had an early car out of warranty and they are turning down his claim.

And btw I like the car and what is supposed to be capable of. But don’t tell me it’s not any less of a pile than my rzr. They all have issues.

Let’s face it it’s not a holy grail car.

My problem is with how speed is being run vs the car itself

You are either not reading the entire post, or you are picking and choosing which part you "understand".

Yes, the cars have turbos that are cracking, Speed has already addressed this and new turbo's are here in the US, and being installed on every car.
If you have a car, the turbo is being replaced BEFORE any of new vehicles, that way people who already have a car can use it.

Who is this one person that is getting denied? There isn't anyone getting denied the turbo replacement.

Idk who he is but he mentioned it on the speed forums. Again I said I read that somewhere. Yes it’s hearsay.

Why didn’t you go stock turbo route?

I went with the Push turbo due to timing, I wasn't sure how fast Speed would get the turbos in, and then what the down time would be waiting for all of them to get replaced.

Now that they are in, I probably should have just waited.

Catching up on this whole deal.

Turbos crack. No big deal. Subaru had a similar issue with their VF39 turbo.

I have been wondering since the beginning how the engine is going to hold up at 300hp.

A few years later and we haven't seen it yet?

Are the owners still in beta testing the cars for Speed?

Unfortunately all customers of any brand vehicle are going to be testers. Polaris actually expects their customers to find problems, they expect the aftermarket to solve and offer fixes to problems. A year or two later they remedy the fix in the next update or model change. I have a friend whose nephew got his dream job working for Polaris. He loves it. But speaking to him, he said Polaris expects to have recalls on each model, it’s just part of doing high volume business.

I'm still trying to figure out how we got from "I heard about one guy that's out of warranty being denied" to "a bunch of people not getting their cars fixed" to "if you own a speed with a turbo problem you may not get it fixed under warranty"?

I tend to think of RDP as a credible source for information, but what you're putting out there is neither credible nor actual information. Do you actually believe that Robby Gordon would deny somebody's warranty claim on a known issue with the turbo due to time constraints? I got 20 bucks that says it's bullshit from the beginning.

is this a joke or real?

Honestly they have gone above and beyond for me. Everyone I know that has taken delivery has been over the top thrilled with the experience

This is one example from fb but they all are the same.

Ummm....

Lance does NOT post under either of those names.

It would be nice if Everyone stuck to just the facts in this thread.
That post above, is a screen shot from Boardmanville, he is not the FB poster. The info being spread by those posters, and Lance, is just BS.

Same as when people post on here, it has zero to do with RD.

Point being?

Neither Dave or Lance, needs to be mentioned, when someone else posts on their accounts.
