Damn 101 is way to fast for me in one of these cars. My mentality is different with kids. Maybe 10 years ago I’d like to see what it can do but now I’m good in the 60s. Lol.
101 in Cal City was not a brilliant move with the amount of traffic and intersections this weekend. The one collision I know about ended with two totaled cars and luckily nobody hurt. One was going 70 and was t-boned by one who said he was going 30. How does insurance work in the desert?

Has anyone received their Speed Key yet or is there still a problem with Certification?

Saw this guy in Randsburg Friday. Said he loved the car and hit 101 on the power line road Thursday.
101mph in a car that has a speed limiter set in the upper 80s. Sounds like he owns a 100 mph jet boat too. LMAO!!!!!!

Doing those speeds in Cal City areas on a holiday weekend is super sketchy.

Most of them are having a low boost problem from cracked turbos.. the new turbos are already on the way. That’s why they are struggling in the sand.. even with ten lbs of boost missing these cars are still fast as shit in the dirt.
I saw one of them on a trail, I think it was car #74, was eating up the huge whoops like nothing, looked fkn great watching that suspension work

Comes down to witness not in either vehicle.
Determining Liability in an Off-Road Vehicle Accident, if the crash occurs somewhere the off-road vehicle was allowed to be, liability comes down to which driver acted negligently. Both drivers in these scenarios owe a duty of care to the other, so the driver who breached that duty would be liable for damages.

I would be surprised if it was limited in the 80's. My X3 ran 91 out of the box and the new Mav R is limited at 98 (some guys have managed to get to 100 for a brief period before the limiter kicks in).

Some of the earlier cars had an emtron ecu and I don’t think they have the limiter.. the rest I believe are set at 93 mph’ish??

My buddy John Holmes has been racing Offroad shit forever.. I let him drive mine out to the cabin this weekend.. as some know I seriously injured myself (ribs) last week.. I taped my ribs up and we took off..

He was blown away with how well the car works, and was talking about it all night. I was shocked at how well the car not only handled the big stuff, but the typical washboard was non existent compared to all my other cars. We had three people coolers and tools.

Troy was driving a two seat pro r and said they were getting beat to death.

(I haven’t touched the suspension or ride height on mine at all).

They have their issues and I’m not denying that, but all of it is getting sorted slowly but surely.

Chad Nelson bought a pro r, a maverick r, and a speed..

His speed had the turbo issue and the typical other issues. The maverick r he said the plastics are falling off the car.. then a rock went between the wheel and those over hanging suspension deals (rear) and he broke a wheel. I’m not sure what was or wasn’t going on with the pro r.

I can say he’s got a Diablo on order now.. pro r is going down the road.

For all the bs in these threads.. the people that own them are willing to go through the issues to end up on the other side. You can read into that what you will.. I know mine isn’t like anything I’ve ever driven before Offroad. The cornering at speed and control you have over it, is unreal.

RG had mentioned a speed limiter being set in the upper 80s. I doubt he would leave the speed limiter off.

My guess is a rock got between the hub and the wheel not the upright. There is a wheel scraper on the rear hub that will get small rocks stuck in there and grove the wheel or break it.

Speed will get things sorted out. Those that are closer to Havasu don't seem to mind as much as those that live a lot farther away.
The quicker Speed gets some dealers set up to help the better.

Well your guess would be wrong.. it got between the rear upright and the tire and broke the wheel inwards.

I think that’s pretty much retail isn’t it? Granted you don’t have to wait to get it.

That said if you are willing to go down the path to get to the other side I’d definitely give it a go..

$5k under I think. (If it’s the base model)

Saw a bunch of Speed cars around Parker this last week, pretty cool to see the support for RG.

However.

Can someone please make a golf cart that doesn’t make the chatter bumps???

They are ruining most trails for the non-transgender desert goers aka dirtbike riders. Thank god you bud light guys can’t access the single track.

Thanks 😂

I just checked the LE is 47,500.. the prices just keep going up.

For reference I bought my el jefe rg’s for 32k. 😳
I would guess that #120 Le was probably in the high $30's range at the beginning, it looks completely bare with zero options.
I do like the Back & RED ECV colors, what say the Brethren 💪
I'm sure somebody will pick it up.

I don't doubt it has a limiter, I would be surprised if it was set in the upper 80's. If it is that is well below the new Can Am that is set at 98.

Yes, was wondering about this as well? Any news on the key?
Talking to a friend that is following Speed closely on FB since he wanted one but is waiting to see if they get sorted out. No one has received their Speed Keys.

Looks like there are some pretty good deals out there, A couple are selling for their original price when ordered years ago. One guy was selling for $4K off his ordered price.

120 was $32K for an LE, plus whatever accessories they added.

I think the Pro R speed limiter is way up there too. Maybe RG bumped it up when he saw what the others had them set to.

My turbo s stock is 88 mph. Mine isn’t stock and tops out about 95. I need different gearing or clutching to go faster.

My current clutching is my limiter as I have no more “gearing” in the clutches. Im still not at redline

These threads have got me thinking lately that I need a speed car. I just don't want to deal with all the first year shit.

If you could buy a deposit from someone in the 2000 number range, you'd probably be good, maybe even into the 3000's.

There are some pretty good deals in the link I posted above. One guy is willing to loose $4000 off his original purchase price from 3 years ago.

The best thing in my opinion about the Speed cars is that any updates that need to be made you will be able to do. It doesn‘t appear like there is any extreme re-engineering going on so as long as RG can keep the ball rolling you should be OK. I wouldn’t buy a Speed and expect to take it right out on a vacation immediately but if you have some time to sort it out I’d buy the first smoking deal I could find and get the process started.

Everyone that owns them is pretty much of the opinion the journey is worth the destination..

If ya want to check one out in person or go for a ride let me know.

Thank you for the offer, but I won't be back out in Havasu till spring time.
I may make another trip or 2 to glamis after the new kid is born in January.
My only issues with SXS is resale value and helmets.
While i understand none of these toys are investments, it would be nice not to take a bath 1 year later on a new canam or Polaris. Those of you who got in early on the speed will probably break even after a few years of ownership.

I also don't want to be forced to wear a helmet if I don't want too. Wrong or right, I'm not required to wear one in my sandrail

New.. but there is always a ton of cars inside for service, repair, warranty as well.

When are ya coming out? 😍😍
Not sure yet no plans going east at this time. I did see 4 of the Speeds in Ocotillo Wells last weekend though! Just need to find one of someone I know haha.

Bring it out to King Of The Hammers Desert race weekend!

In other news I will be picking up a new 4 seat Pro R for my race car for 2024, goal is to nerf RG at NORRA! :)

When you get your stock pro r, I would like to compare it to my stock speed. :)

It seems like everything I have seen online always has some kinda angle to it..

Let me know! I watched a lot of your social media stuff during the 1000.. I got a bazillion questions for you at some point..

Like
1. What is fishgistics? is it a biz that covers Offroad racing only?
2. I'm not familiar with the course (never done it) but it seemed like you were everywhere? in sometimes multiple places at once?
3. Are you using starlink or something for good internet in the middle of nowhere?
4. are some of the clips user submitted or is that other staff out on the course?
5. Do you have sponsors or advertisers that help offset the cost, or make it profitable? If so can you send me a media kit?
6. What does fishgistics do as a biz when not racing? or what do you do? day job? or is this full time?

Forgive my ignorance on a lot of this, I don't follow Offroad racing that close.. which I probably should because I have connections to a lot of the top trophy truck teams in one fashion or another.. Whether that's friends, friends of friends, boating relations, etc..

You won’t see him on the course unless you qualify badly or he passes you. Pro R cars race in the 2000 class in NORRA. You guys will start before those of us in the ProUTV turbo class unless you suck at qualifying at the short track course the day before.

Fish was at his base location in the states broadcasting the info. He wasn’t in Baja as far as I can tell.
