I do those speeds all day no problem it's the 65 or 70 for long periods I don't like . Motor is tired . We did almost all the trail . Last stretch is Yuma back to parker . We got lost on our way down and ended up in the Yuma proving grounds ! Lol . Turns out we can't read a map or use GPS! This fine officer did not care for us and escorted us 20 plus miles down the 95 after running our info . Haha . Like I said the slower suspension stuff I can handle all day it's the top end I can't keep up with the newer cars .

We did Yuma to quartzite then up to havasu
We did parker to weldon but got lost . Turned right instead of left at the Y and made for a crazy long day . Figured if we couldn't handle following the river we sure as he'll should not head out into the desert ! Lol . This time we will leave parker and stay in Yuma and go Yuma back to Parker . 🤞🏻

no way the cage collapse like that. Maybe they transport them upside down stacked on each other?

a guy I know that does welding for Robby out of his shop, he was working on a bare chassis yesterday that will be displayed so folks can see what the chassis looks like bare.
Wonder if this is in relation to the upside down car.

Does he have any cars with the spare tire and cool tool box storage tote that wraps around it there?

I don't understand suede fabric for an off road cars seats and steering wheel???? That's gonna be a pain to clean and keep nice.

I agree. Looks nice. But if you also look the actual upholstery doesn’t t look that good either, wrinkles as such. But it doesn’t look like a production car. Looks like a test car. Especially if you look at the cage.

This is my 2020 Can Am back seat after 4 days in mud in Williams AZ, but I have to basically hose the shit out of it to get it clean. I don't think that this would work with suede.

I don’t think many argued that. It’s when will they actually deliver a product is the question.

That back seat also looks really small.

And that’s not a new car. If you zoom it’s clear that is a test vehicle.

Cut him some slack.
He finds it much easier to win arguments that don't actually exist.

I don’t know if they had any production cars there, I didn’t stay around long enough, but all those cars in the front all said “pre-production” on them even the one they had covered.

Also the flipped car was used as a stage for Robbie and team to stand on while giving themselves high fives

Suade wouldn’t work for you or your type of off-roading (wet).

Suade works great in the dry stuff and places like Glamis. I had a mix of suade and vinyl on my last car and will go all suade on my next car. It’s easy to clean unless it gets wet.

I'll give my take on the show.
When I first got there, I went to the Speed area as I needed my "hard cards" and it was really the only reason I was there. I saw 2 cars under covers out front, and a couple of the smaller race cars, that I've seen already. They also had a couple of the other cars we've seen before in the back of the Semi trucks, not sure why they were over there.

I was fairly disappointed with what I originally saw. Todd ended up getting me my hard cards, so I chatted with him briefly about whether he thought I'd get my 125 car in time to Pre-run the 1000 with, which is around the week of Nov. 14th. He said, "oh thats gonna be close, possibly, let's have a beer and talk about it later"
I didn't stick around for the beer and chat because it was just way to crowded.

I came back around 6:30 and they were wheeling in a red and blue car, so that it was nice to see some that I haven't seen before. The blue was pretty awesome looking, and I was impressed with the finished product, doors shut good enough for me, it's a SXS, not a production daily driver car. The new latch was nice on the rear doors, the interior was the same as the pre-production so no surprises or changes there.

All in all, I'm impressed with the finished product, and un-impressed with the deliveries as the last update was 75-100 cars completed, which means I should be real quick behind those since there's only 25 more to make. Something is off a little with those numbers or dates, or production assembly line.

I personally talked with Robby last night for about 5 min. They have 75 cars ready to deliver. But they are waiting on EPA to approve the car. He was expecting approval yesterday but it didn’t happen. He did say any day now for that. I asked him about more and he said “soon after the first 75”

After that conversation RG showed me a series of day old photos on his phone of the assembly line with about a dozen cars being put together. He said they are rolling slowly with assembly waiting for EPA and CARB approval. The pictures I saw are cars after the initial 75-100 prepared ones.

He also said these will be built in multiple continents in multiple factories.

The new cars presented last night are “Gen 5” cars and what we will see as customers with minor improvements. He said “Judge me on those new cars”. And the differences between the year old cars and these “gen 5” cars are obvious.

The blue car looked bad ass. The new door config is way better than last year, and the doors while not 100% perfect, are really good. All the new cars had VINs.

I get the delay do to the EPA but why is there only 75 cars ready ? Shouldn't new vehicles be being built every week ? Seams like there would be a warehouse full and growing everyweek while waiting for approval.

They have had 75 built for 5 weeks now (based on what Todd has stated). So, it sounds like production was slowed due to certification issues. Let’s hope zero redesign, modification have to occur based on results. They were pending CARB certification (stated tests passed, pending documents in hand), but that was 2 months ago. Anyone know what EPA BS they have to pass.

My biggest issues has been the lack on honest and transparent communications. With my Tesla truck, I knew I was looking at 3-4 years, so I made the deposit. With this thing, I heard 2020 when they started at SSSS 2019. Then Covid hit and it was 2021. Then 2022. Now IMO, we are looking at 2023 and a deposit today is 18-24 months out.

Two months ago, they could of said “we are unable to deliver cars until EPA and CARB certifications are in hand. We have no ETA on when those will be received. Once we have received those certifications, we will announce delivery options. Until then, we are in a holding pattern.”

It’s just excuses buying time at this point. Covid did really effff the supply chain but we are not talking 2 years at any company to get parts. TBH in recent months I have seen improvements through all my vendors I use. Will they get finished at some point? Yes. When? Who knows. If I personally had a early number I would expect the car maybe by the new year If lucky?

No EPA BS to pass. Waiting on certs to be issued.

Compared to buying a unreleased Tesla this is a cakewalk. With Tesla you don’t know when you’ll get the car, how much it will be or how far it will go 😂.

This car was gonna take 2 years before Covid even hit. All paperwork said 2021 anyway.

The are buying a little time and probably have nowhere to put 500 UTVs waiting to be sold.

So did anyone actually take bets on delivery dates? I know it was thrown around in one of these threads...Curious to see if any bets were accepted...

I saw the rung to hang from with your name on it.

Clearly there is plenty of hype. The speed booth had the most traffic by far last night.

Nothing like multi year promises to attract a crowd to try to find out what’s new. It’s human nature to check out what doesn’t exist rather than products that are already being delivered and purchased.

Two constants:
1. Speed cars are coming
2. LOF’s tireless defense of anything related to the hype
