I'm going to be the devil's advocate here even though I think Ocean Goers is letting his emotions take over his keyboard a bit. I guess I could say the same about some of the other posters on here too. Let's all take a chill pill here folks!
Anyway, as far as Oceangoers' claim (based on what he has said) I look at it like this: Lets say you gather up the family and go to sizzlers for dinner. Everyone orders and you pay up front and you are told your meal will be out in about 5 minutes. You all go to your table and wait for your meal. After 15 minutes you hunt down the manager and ask where your food is. You are told that the meat delivery truck is late but will be there any second. Another 15 minutes later after a second inquiry your are told the meat is here but it wasn't what was ordered so they are trying to get the right stuff.
This goes on a few more times and eventually the manager cusses at you and runs off and hides. Now you have been waiting for a couple hours so you demand your money back. It is reluctantly returned minus a couple bucks "for their inconvenience", not yours.
Sure, you got most of your money back but after wasting two hours of your time and you are still hungry! Would you recommend this restaurant to others? Would you say, "You got your money back, what are you complaining about."? Again, this opinion is based on what Oceangoer has posted on here so I don't know if this is actually what happened.
Anyway, the pitchfork and torch count on this thread is pretty high. I've seen this many times where the masses defend a popular poster or known member and it ends up going bad, especially on OSO (Big Scotty, Troutly, Fred/Trick Marine, etc). I am in no way implying the builder here is guilty of anything and in fact, could be the victim of flaky buyers and as a former hot rod shop owner, I know well and good about guys with grandiose intentions but no money to back it up.
All I'm saying is listen to each side and make your comments based on what is presented, not on emotions. On the other hand, what fun is a call out thread if it doesn't go south?
I agree. Just thinking I have been real lucky to have great customers, but there can never be to much comunication period. The more money spent the more communication needed. Some people will just say go ahead and do what ever is needed, just make it right. Others you have to guide them through every step.
