Personally, I like strippers. But, they are kind of fucked up. But, then again, so am I, so I really don't have any room to criticize.

The victim Im currently boinking had a deployment in Iraq a couple years ago, and he was married....and he hooked up with a "Battle Buddy."

I have to agree with SBjet on this issue. When my boytoy tells the story he has nothing but regret in his voice. While in Iraq he thought they were made for each other and felt (what he thought) was the deepest of connections. After they returned stateside he realized she was a bi-polar crazy bitch who needs medication and serious psyche care. They truly had NOTHING in common, other than their military affiliation.

It's a different world, it's a different frame of thought, it's a parallel universe.

Nothing brings people together like combat. Some of the best friends I ever had were guys that I was in the shit with, but when you get back it's like you really have nothing else in common except the fact that you thought you might die.

When I was in the Marine Corps, I had exactly one military girlfriend ever. She was in the Navy, worked at the comm center, at NAS Atsugi. I would bribe a helo driver on a training mission to drop me off at Atsugi on the weekends and she would drive me back to Butler. She was, by far, the finest looking piece of ass at Atsugi. Every time we would go to the E club or over to Zama, every swinging dick would be trying to talk to her, buy her a drink, etc. I'd go use the head, come back and there'd be four dudes sitting at my table when I got back. Luckily, they were all in the Navy, so usually a hard look would send them running to buy themselves another Mai Tai. As it turns out, when my deployment was over and I was off to the Med, she wants to get married. I can honestly say, she was always faithful to the best of my knowledge, I never heard one peep or saw any indication that she ever screwed around on me in the 9 months we were together. But, marry her. I just couldn't do it. Because I knew the temptation would always be there, I knew she had 5 more years left in the Navy, which would mean at least two more new duty stations, with literally thousands of eligible young bachelors running around. We would never be stationed together, since most of my duty stations involved sitting in a jungle somewhere or watching a building in god knows whereastan. In the end, I always felt bad, not because I didn't marry her, but because I wasn't man enough to admit to her that I wasn't comfortable enough with her situation to trust her. She dogged me for another six months. She called me probably three times a week after I left asking me to marry her and in the end my only response was "I'm not ready to get married", which was completely untrue. After about the 1000th phone call, I got a letter from her that said "If you change your mind, give me a call" and I never heard from her again.

I'm not really sure where I was going with this, it's just something I've never really talked about.

RD's Place - the truth sirum of the internet

There are some wonderful posts in this thread. I've learned a lot from quite a few people.

This is better than group therapy. Not that I would know... but, as it turns out, I do. :D

My friends bust my balls all the time for dating a guy who is an admitted "cheater." Of course their concern is "once a cheater, always a cheater."

He was EXTREMELY candid with the issue and he openly admitted it on our first date. I truly believe his situation was a result of a wartime connection.

Im not attempting to defend Wendy with this spewage, Im just agreeing with those who think her "Battle Buddy" relationship will crash and burn quickly.

Typing too fast I tell ya.. ;)

And I'm curious of your thoughts on my thouhts & theories?

RD

I know this question isn't directed at me but I'd say it was pretty dead on.
Considering all the great advice, experience and heartache combined in this thread, its still sad.

Dave I think you are right on with your thoughts and opinions. A lot of that rang true with how I was feeling and what was going on with my ex. As you know it's a similar situation to Bobby's well except for my ex and the drugs.

Anyways you hit the nail on the head...good job.

Thanks RD. I don't go on much anymore and I'm actually feeling guilty that my morbid curiosity has me following this trainwreck.

Oh, it's true, nobody understands the ladies like RiverDave. ;)

I knew this guy John once.. He taught me the basics, then sent me into the strip club for the school of hard knocks.

If I ever run into that guy again.. I'm not sure if I should buy him a beer, or go all JohnyCash/Boy named Sue on him..

If I might drop my 2 cents into this..

Feels like a million bucks everytime some nice thing happens, but then is bored and restless all the rest of the time.

Well every reason is horseshit.. The root of the problem is "he's too nice" and he didn't treat Windy, the way she NEEDS to be treated..

So your right Topless in my opinion. It does take 2. But it only takes one to plunge that fucking knife right into your back.

When you've come to the correct conclusions, start over and you'll find somebody.. But don't ever forget that Mr. Perfect isn't perfect for you. You need somebody with alot of "FU" in em to keep the balance.

Those are just my thoughts, and opinions on the matter.

RD

Good stuff RD... I haven't been attached to anyone that close in years, until recently. Some chicks you just can't treat good. It's the "FU" in me that I think attracts so many... and the second you let your guard down with one of these kind of chicks, you get burned.

I've never been the FU guy, I'm much too nice to do that with any regularity, but the couple times it's had to be employed, it really does work wonders. I could see making it a regular strategery.

It works great... just don't fall in love with them... or heaven forbid marry one... or five.

Just thought I would Chime in here.

I've read this post top to bottom, several times, and for the life of me, I can't find any declarative message as to what is right and what is wrong.

Did the mods edit it, or something?
