I appreciate the comment, Dave. Perhaps I don't know Ratso as well as I think.

As I understand him, he has a clear set of rules. Those rules just happen to be different from what many consider to be acceptable.

I can't see him doing that to a buddy. I don't think he gives much consideration to the feelings of a woman who wants to cheat but I think he would take a bullet for a buddy and certainly not screw a good friend's chick... not holding back for the chick's sake, but for the friend's.

... but it could easily be that I don't know him on a level to project something like that onto his character. :hmm

You nailed that one perfectly Tom. When it comes to things of this nature, I let my friends set the rules of the game. Take a bullet for, die for, most definitely... that's how much I value true friendships. They cross me though, game on.

I don't think it is entertainment, not to me anyway. I look at it as being here for Bobby and to help him thru this time. I know some others have joked around in this thread, but I think they are just trying to lightened up the mood.

I agree Mike, which is why I've abstained from this thread for the most part.. With the exceptional comment to try and lighten the mood..

I will say that I read 20 pages of it earlier, just to make sure things aren't getting out of hand.

Take a bullet for, die for, most definitely... that's how much I value true friendships.

I think people are often blinded by their defensiveness. When you hear someone openly say they sleep with married women, that causes people to assume the person saying that has no morals, however, just because the person's morals and values don't align with our own, is not a valid reason to assume they have none.

I've come to know you as a person of excellent moral fabric. How many people here have cheated on, or been cheated on, but say nothing about it and think they are on the moral high ground. You have come to the conscious that these widely held beliefs are a sandcastle that can't stand up to the rainstorm of life.

The funny thing is, the evidence is almost all in your favor. The number of marriages that have not had to endure cheating of any kind is extremely low.

I've put some thought into your outlook and have found tremendous wisdom in it. While I don't share your views, I have learned greatly from them. My reality is I am closer to your outlook than the prevalent one.

One of the other things I have learned about you over the years is that you are extremely open minded. You don't always assume someone is wrong if you don't share their point of view.

The danger in opening your mind to someone else's ideas is; you could end up seeing the wisdom of doing things a different way.

I've learned a lot from you, Ratso. Thank you.

I find it rather ironic however that Topless was so mean to Windy at the very beginning(2003'ish)......she said some really harsh things back then

Perhaps she's trying to be less judgmental. An effort she just began yesterday morning, around 9am.

Objection. Relevence your honor?

If you add up the time somewhere between 35 and 100ish people spend refreshing, reading, and commenting in this thread, I'll bet we're up to several hundred man hours of labor.

.... and you're concerned about relevance?

I argue the witness opened herself up to this line of questioning by the rather out of character approach the witness is using in this situation. We need to establish any biases by which the defendant is being judged.

Your honor, I would argue that goes to the witness' state of mind. Your honor, the witness is not on trial here. Permission to treat the prosecution as hostile.

Just out of curiosity, how many times per day do you exchange messages with Windy?
I don't talk to her every day. As a matter of fact, I only talked to her the first time since this started last week or so because Bobby kept asking me if I'd heard from her. so I guess that would make a total of 3 conversations with her. So Tom, why are you so interested in my message exchanges anyway?

If I might drop my 2 cents into this..

I'm happy this thread was posted, and is as popular as it has become.. For Bobby's sake. A few weeks back Bobby came by my shop, and we talked for a good 4 hours or so about the subject.

It's no secret that Bobby worshipped Windy while they were together. It's funny ya know? Girls always say they want to be put on some pedestal, and treated like a princess.. But there's a harsh inverse reality to following that line of thinking when it comes to Cali girls. If you do it, your going to get walked on, rode hard, used and abused, etc.. Amplify that by 10 if they were a dancer at some point in their life.

The fact of the matter is, if you were to look up fairy tale "prince charming" guy, they'd use Bobby as the example to follow.

Topless was right earlier in this thread.. It takes two.

Where she's wrong, is that the only thing this guy is guilty of, is not treating her like shit.. Becuase if he did, then this story would be ending entirely differently. Most girls are rolling their eyes right now.. but most guys atleast the ones that have been around the block, especially with a dancer, know exactly what I'm talking about.

That being said, and this is just my opinions and theories... After they got married Windy was confused and Angry.. Not at Bobby, but if ya look deeper at herself. Not understanding, why she's not happy with the relationship. Feels like a million bucks everytime some nice thing happens, but then is bored and restless all the rest of the time.

She goes to VA.. Makes a mistake after drinking all night. The only thing worse then the mistake, is now they are suddenly put into a position where they see each other everyday, talk everyday, and the mistake turns into something special.. Few months overseas where they can't "hook up" and that mistake is on a pedestal, and has now turned into something that it never was.. Some monumental life changing event. They are soul mates.. Only problem is, this nice guy back at home taking care of all the responsibillities, that has done nothing but treat her right.

So she starts looking for reasons, any reason.. I mean after all it has to be this sumbitches fault somehow doesn't it? Otherwise I wouldn't feel this way? I wouldn't have done the things that I did, unless there was some reason? He's got anger issues.. He's not providing enough.. He's??

Well every reason is horseshit.. The root of the problem is "he's too nice" and he didn't treat Windy, the way she NEEDS to be treated..

Which sucks, but when she fucks up, dragging her by her hair into the house and putting her to bed. On occasion telling her to shut the fuck up.. and hey throw a box of rocks in their for good measure. It sux, but the bottom line is Cali girls like a little fuck you.. Strippers, you gotta be about a 1/2 a click off street corner Pimp to keep em loyal. To echo someone else, she has always, and will always have the mindset of a dancer... and it is what it is.

So back to the reason why I'm happy this thread was started, and why I'm happy so many people have seen it... Bobby for a long time was head over heels for her. As soon as Battle Buddy gets back, that shit might last a month.. Maybe 2? Who knows, it might even last a little longer..

But at the end of the day, when the sweetness of the icecream melts, and reality sets in, that douchebag, is in fact a douchebag... She would've come back to Bobby.. and truthfully, I think at one time he loved her enough that he would've taken her back.

This thread not only vindicates Bobby from ridiculous accusations (anger issues?), but it puts him in a position where it'd be very difficult for her to get to him anymore.. If for nothing else just from a "What would our friends think" perspective and truthfully I'm happy for that. While it sucks that it's public, when you love someone so much, you would do anything, and accept anything just to be with that person..

Sometimes you have to put yourself in a position to protect yourself from making bad decisions down the road. Bobby has now done that, and I'm happy for that, becuase his future is alot brighter becuase of it.

So your right Topless in my opinion. It does take 2. But it only takes one to plunge that fucking knife right into your back.

If we rewound my life about 4.5 - 5 years, you could've substituted my name with Bobby's in this post, and in this thread for the most part. I got lucky that I met Stacy, and she snapped me out of that shit.. I'm going to go ahead and clip the rest of this post right here.. and say

Cheers To Bobby's Future, it's a bright one. :beer

I think it should be noted.. I don't wish Windy any ill will. While it might sound fucked.. I don't think she could help what happened. It just kind of happened. Through years of therapy, and self reflection she might get it.. but until then she will always be a stripper. Not a war hero, not a medic, not anything else.. Just a stripper. Which isn't that big of a deal if you got your looks, but those looks will fade in the next few short years.

So if your reading this Windy. Take my advice.. Don't worry about the divorce. It's not the end of the world. When soldier boy lets you down (and he will), don't take that to heart either. Do some serious self examination, and look back on your life. When you've come to the correct conclusions, start over and you'll find somebody.. But don't ever forget that Mr. Perfect isn't perfect for you. You need somebody with alot of "FU" in em to keep the balance.

Those are just my thoughts, and opinions on the matter.

Here is a response I was posting to Topless when RD moved the thread into his private reply studio.

I don't talk to her every day. As a matter of fact, I only talked to her the first time since this started last week or so because Bobby kept asking me if I'd heard from her. so I guess that would make a total of 3 conversations with her. So Tom, why are you so interested in my message exchanges anyway?

Topless, when I recall the somewhat controversial threads that have gone down in this forum, I have no recollection of you ever being the voice of reason or advocating restraint and decorum until further information can be gathered. Never, that is, until now.

You seem motivated to defend Windy. Perhaps you've walked a mile in her shoes and sympathize with her or perhaps you're just friends. Either way, I'm glad you're here to share your view.

It seems to me, Windy is getting somewhat steamrolled here. Text and pictures have been posted that seem to prove she cheated on Bobby. I say "seem" because this is the Internet, it wouldn't be the first time a large group of people were played. Still, she is hanging all over someone who isn't her husband in these pics and that seems to resonate with many people who fear that might happen to them. Many who share this fear are correct. It will.

... so your reaction in this thread seems wildly out of character for someone who advocated a complete skull amputation for a young guy who had a giant zit on his chin. I enjoyed that comment a lot, by the way.

I feel bad for Windy. Whatever she has done, whatever choices she has made, I hope she finds happiness in life. Frankly, I put the odds of Windy finding long term happiness far lower than those of Bobby but both are worthwhile people.

Windy was a distant, Internet friend prior to this event and she still is just that. I don't expect her to request my friendship on MySpace any time soon, though. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if she were to exile herself from the entire boating community.

I suspect Windy found someone she has feelings for, who isn't her husband, and she took the low road in how she handled it. She would not be the first person to do that and she won't be the last. It happens every day but rarely do we see such conclusive evidence of it.

The person who surprises me most in this deal is HBJet. Through the marriage and now this, he has remained surprisingly quiet about everything. Sure, he's had a few comments but he has refrained from any significant sanctimony. I have developed a lot of respect for him and how he's handled himself over the years.

It's kinda like As The World Turns meets Springer meets MASH.

Im guilty of enjoying each and every entry. It's a Sociology lesson. Most of us have been involved in some fucked up relationships and every once in awhile it's good to know it's not YOU this time.

This is similar to what I was typing when it was deleted. I have heard that service people, serving abroad, are in a crazy unreal world, and do some nutty stuff, and sometimes screw around. This new guy won't last back in the regular world.
BTW I have talked to divorced women who said that they knew it wouldn't last after the first week, or weren't really in love the day of the wedding. Is there any point in stretching it out another 2-5 years?
