Phil Blurton's new R with 35's and an aftermarket cage. View attachment 1268643
These are starting to grow on me.... Im a CanAm guy (I have 3), and was NOT impressed with the looks at first, but Blurton just change my mind a little on the looks. The suspension still has me scratching my head a little, but watching all the CanAm factory guys driving them it sounds and looks like it WORKS!!

I think in 3 months if these are out in the wild, no one is going to be scratching their heads.

Hard to tell as you can’t see it from the s front. That is an existing 5.5” wide ZRP “5+1” offset wheel drilled for 6 lug.

The narrower wheel alone will have pulled the sidewall of the tire away from the front upright.

No one has good 16” tires for the stock wheels. They should have left 15” wheels on all models in my opinion.

I can’t find any specs on the stock wheel width. It is probably a 6”or 7” wide wheel.
From the front:

I built one online and noticed the stage 5 JL system uses MX series speakers. 👎🏻 I much prefer headsets and an intercom anyway. The sound quality in the Alpha Bass headsets from Rugged is pretty impressive so I’ll stick with those. Definitely not worth an extra $5k.

Why is LOF so into this? It was speed speed speed for years. Or a few weeks ago.
Jumping to the can am fan club?
Everything was less cool, less ground breaking, less robbie with your speed.

Are you selling your spot?

Because I don’t hate on things blindly without knowing about them and understanding their place in the market.

I didn’t shit on the Pro R when it came out either.

I like the UTV industry, not just Speed.

It sounds better every day as you hear from more industry experts. My dealer thinks it will be delivered as early as 5 weeks from now. I gave up my spot today for one of the first 2 cars they have coming, I’ll probably regret it, but they have more coming I can jump on a little later if I cant live without. As long as I don’t drive a new one, wont know what I’m missing until it passes me. Try to stay in front!

Watching the TP Cletus video now. I can't believe Cletus is buying into the 25 and 26 in of travel bullshit. Seriously? He knows better.p

*Edit* Cletus and Travis's review feels fake to me. Car looks good and better than the last, but it doesn't seem like the next benchmark at all. This has nothing to do with Speed, couldn't care less about them.

And why is everybody nutting themselves over a no belt paddle shifter sequential shift drivetrain? Yamaha has been doing it since 2015, and Honda has since followed suit. Why is everyone acting like this is the first one?

Likely cuz it’s the first one with some balls and a suspension that actually handles well

As for Cletus and Travis they are paid can am drivers so the review is biased

Marketing. Speed had an opportunity with Cleetus. CanAm was the smart one. Millions of viewers.

Because both of those machines are slow and boring as hell off the showroom floor. You have to heavily modify them to become competitive on this level.

It would have been cool, but I’m glad they didn’t. At this point just get the final cars out and don’t waste the time and energy. The finish line is right there.

Agreed. In hindsight the Speed UTV wasn't ready for that type of exposure.

This is how you announce a new vehicle. Develop and test it in private and when it's ready then present it to the world and have daily demo days so the public can drive it before it gets released. Have magazines, pro-drivers, aftermarket companies, influencers, etc drive the car and give their reviews of it. Then when you deliver the cars the hype will be at its highest and cars will be available in dealer show rooms across the country.

You mean threatening to "hunt down and cancel" any naysayers isn't a good sales program?

Yup as already said too slow LoL.

The yxz was a cool idea especially when you put your purse down and buy the 3 pedal clutch car 😜.
In the dunes the gearing is too wide for the power mostly 2nd/3rd drifting in 2wd. At the time (2019ish) the only other option for gearing from the factory was rock crawling ratio which topped out at like 40 in 5th. If they offered a gear set 15-20% under from the factory it would've been more of a driver.

It’s funny.. most of the people that are waiting for a Speed car believe the complete opposite.

If Speed had done what you said and said to us “you’ll see what you get when we show it to you” they would have sold 100 cars.

This is the difference between a brand that has been around for 50 years and one that has been around for 4.

Robbie posting on social media that the new R is "decades behind" except for the transmission. 🤣

🤣 I am really interested to see how these 2 stack up.

They are 2 totally different ways of approaching a performance UTV. One fully electronic, the other fully mechanical and user adjustable.
