regardless of his wants, we'd appreciate input on a new 270...........want his input too, but everyone else also

cant make everyone happy, but someone that has had multiples, we'd like to hear the input before we build it......not targeting dave, but anyone in the market.......what are your wants and needs, we are listening.......you want the 270, here is the sounding board.......we want to build what people want....let her rip 👀...we can have community build, but if it never sells, what are we doing? twin outboards(great boat for that)........we need input of people that are interested, not just homers.........we are open to pretty much anything to keep the brand alive.......can build better than any hallett out there, just need input from the hallett faithfull to keep it going

Brace yoreself. People want a 100 mph capable boat that rides great, holds all their people and crap, is perfectly rigged with all the top shelf parts for $100k 🤣

I think a modern day twin would be what the people want. Maybe do a party wrap around seat in the back?

Second to that would be a 600 single.

Don’t worry about the budget because it’s going to be a 180k minimum build I’m sure.

the wrap around seat is what the 275 should have had............noted
and the hallett windsheild...........

“Hallett” buyers want the 240, 255, 270, 290 and the missing 300.

The 275 is a banging boat but it’s only a Hallett in name. Everything else says Nordic.
i agree........the nordic windsheild killed it..........what if they were to tool a 275 with the hallett windsheild, but maybe bring the windsheild back a bit, but have a 270 walk through open bow?..........get rid of the huge dash a bit? open up the open bow a bit? a 275 hallett walk thru that looks like a hallett?

i get your concerns.......i see it

every boat has a look, dont co-mingal..........lovers love what they love

I think that could have a place.

Honestly what was a huge turn off was hearing @RiverDave asking about building a boat and hearing the same stuff Hallett spewed before Davis boats bought them.

Hallett was notorious for building what they wanted and not what the customer wanted.

Obviously sounds like maybe a miscommunication of sorts. But it would be nice to see a classic custom 270 roll out the doors.

The 450 210 was a home run, the 255s have been great and the vector turned out great as well.

im not capped on what i say, thank goodness, but i hear what has been said............putting the 28 heat bottom on the 275 was a no brainer.........handles hp, hanldles great.......the process for the hallett open was fumbled, but only for hallett faithfull.........it is a great boat, handles, makes good mph per power

Splash the 300 and sell it for 400k and you will sell 5 just on a rendering....
why splash? we have the molds........we build today's product..........hallett was great at the day, but materials have improved, as we have.........state of the art, no more plywood....have to get better......times change, but reputation lags, what was good 20 years ago and the reputation is last years news
want a heavy 40 for mead? we can do it........make your play, we can do it

not bagging on old hallett........it is what it is, times change, as should building..........otherwise, we'd all be building with roving(like the 40 i crawled thru)

30 mold is MIA.

The 24 open bow is the one Randy said he wanted to splash.

the 24 is a 255 minus a swim step.........if there was a market, we could do a mold(255 open walkthrough which shares the same bottom)

There is very little market for a sub 25 foot new high end boat at today’s prices. There just won’t be many takers.

What family is going to want to spend $150k+ for a new “starter boat”?

Having spent untold hours on the 11m rhib, I can say, they are an OK ride, with one big downside, they are a wet ride. And because they are jets, ya can’t really trim them. Would be fine for Havasu , and handle anything it could throw at it. But gets wet in the big blue. Also, make sure they have the upgraded turbos. They are a b*#$+ to change.

ps. The price seems pretty fair. And I wouldn’t mind owning one. 👍

Depends on the boat. The 210 you guys have sitting for stock. What is the asking price 125k?

If you could find the 300 mold. Boats would being built yesterday.

I genuinely appreciate you trying to light a fire under these designs. It’s nice to see someone trying to get some builds going. 👍🏻🔥

If I could display a new straight bottom 270 at HIH 2023 it would definitely get people talking. The Gel scheme/dash and interior need to be classic Hallett. My 300 would be a perfect starting off point styling wise.....

I'd be interested in some input on building a new 270. :)
  1. I/O- Single 600 SC or twin LS platfrom
  2. I think MCOB is the way to go for the first one. If someone wants a walkthrough open bow and is willing to pay for it, tool it up.
  3. Keep the classic windshield lines, same with the dash. Everything else can be modernized and updated, including a newer bottom if it made sense.
  4. NO EUROPEAN SWIM STEP. Everyone is going to swim platform because the in mold back half is useless and to repeat it again, it takes away from Hallett styling...

The 275 top deck would have to be retooled or maybe build one with classic Hallett gel scheme and seating and see if it takes to thew consumer, I agree, its an amazing boat. But it is not true to the Hallett brand. It's a Nordic and you need to have a clear separation in design to both brands. No insest of the two designs.

I could go on...... and on........

This boat checks all the boxes for what I would use it for.

I think If a 210 open bow could be built for low 80s for the base model/engine you would have a hit on your hands.

i like fiberglass textured decks in my boats with snap in sea grass.

My take...

First things first, fix the website so when you click on a model it doesn't only pop up a huge photo of the 400... Fix the website in general, very difficult to even find a decent exterior of multiple models.

- 275 is too Nordic, either add it to the Nordic lineup or re-tool the deck for Hallett windshields
- if the 270 is being brought back, I don't see much of a need for a 270 AND a 275
- Hallett interior is a must. Hard lines, square edges, and no swoops
- 270 single OB would be cool. I assume single 450 wont be enough. 600 would be cool, twins are meh on V's(IMHO)
- bring back the 240
- has anyone bought a 260? Not a knock at all, just haven't heard much about them personally. Maybe ditch it and clean up the model list?
- build more 285 decks
- 210 needs to be in the 80-100k range(base). I know, inflation and all that shit. Break even on 210s and you'll create new customers that will be loyal for life. How many people do you know that started with a 210 or similar "entry level" model and now have the 150-300k model from said manufacture?
