Thank you!

I agree with you on the deck boat. Those and toons are the hot ticket for consumers. Followed by wakeboard boats. Hallett offers a 285 deck, however, I will admit it would not be my first choice in a deck boat if I was In the market.

As I said before, In my opinion you need to get the old men who love their 90’s Hallett into a new Hallett, or get their kids into a new Hallett.

Unfortunately, that old man that paid 35k for a brand new 240 off the showroom floor at the LA boat show in 1990 can’t stomach buying a new Hallett for 6 figures. My dad is that guy. He’s also on the back end of his boating lifestyle at 73. He’s not buying a new boat, but I might…

That leads me to the next generation of Hallett owners, people like me who grew up on a Hallett and want to continue the family tradition and heritage that is Hallett. That is who the brand needs to be catered and marketed to. 30-40 year olds who can afford a new boat and know what a Hallett is. I believe that will bring more new customers through the front door.

Hallett needs to hit the social media marketing hard too. Get people into knowing what a Hallett is… They are behind in the times of marketing in general. If you have more social media presence and put Halletts in peoples faces it will bring new potential customers through the door asking about them.
I agree with this. My dad and uncle have matching 210s. If my wife ever gets me to trade up I would by some form of 1000 hp deck boat.

My neighbor has the first Nordic Vector. He’s 140 in it. He told me Thane said they lost their ass building it. 🤷🏼‍♂️
This maybe true but I've never heard of someone in thane situation saying "we made a killing off you"

They just say nothing when they make a killing.

The next guy that wants a Vector will come on here and bitch about why he was quoted $200k for it 😂.

Premium custom boats are only going to get more expensive, not cheaper.

When people start buying $40k trucks again, Hallett will start selling $60k boats again.

Tahiti can build a 21ft open bow for about half that and still make money in CA. The “lost their ass” part probably came from the profit they could have made on a bigger boat during that 21’ time slot.

Tahiti knows what they are doing, they have a recipe for their boats and pop them out.

Does Nordic for a vector or even a 210? Or do they need to waste time and effort figuring it out because each one is custom and different and they aren’t doing them constantly? Now you are getting killed wasting time on a boat with a smaller margin. It is easy to get upside down.

That is exactly why none of them make small boats. They have their big boat programs dialed in, and make more money with the time and materials invested, and need fewer customers.

Notice no one from any boat MFG has jumped into this conversation and said how exited they are at the idea of figuring out how to make more boats for lower margins.

Nordic has been in the game a long time, I doubt it took their team over 70k in man hours to figure out how to build a 21’. I’m not denying bigger boats have bigger margins.

Very well said.

The boating world needs Something for entry level buyers bad!

I'm sure it difficult to complete at the price point that the baby jet boats compete at, but can't there be something close??

An entry level boat doesn't need a 400 on it. It's need something that sips gas but will still pull a skier out of deep water!

A recreational boat. A fun to use boat. Most lakes on the west coast aren't big enough for the big hulls, and not everyone Wants to go to Havasu, Mead or Powell, especially an entry level buyer.

When I worked at JMS, we did a Lot of work for Hallett and I got to know Jerry and Jim pretty well...

From conversations with them, I get how emmission requirements have pushed costs Way out of proportion to the size of the boat. A 40ft boat has the same costly requirements as an 18ft boat, so bigger boats Need to be built to cover those costs. It's sad reality that you can't get away from.

But nevertheless, the industry Needs an affordable entry level boat!

The dock crusher boats are selling (at a ridiculous price point) cause they are FUN.

Can we not have a smaller entry level/affordable boat that is fun as well?

That throws a flat wake kids Can learn to ski behind easily?

People are spending 40-50k on SxS's all dam day, yeah? Why? Cause they are a blast!

Can we not get a fun usable boat in that same price range?

Maybe some new version of a tournament ski boat that will hit 50-60mph and not beat you to death in the chop?

Just food for thought is all. 🚤
It’s called a Tahiti. Well built boat for a great price that guy is all about the working class and just getting people on the water. He builds a great product for what he charges. Honestly idk how he does it at his prices.
