Gotta be at least 100 $100 tabs on a Friday and Saturday during summerHow much does a place like Fox's make anyway after expenses. I would guess its a pretty good business but a friend of mine spoke with the owner once and he said not as much as you would think??? Just curious if anyone has a ballpark idea.
Yep, I would think 100's....... offset by the slowness in between seasons and the cheap ass snow birds, haha.Gotta be at least 100 $100 tabs on a Friday and Saturday during summer
Not very much money in the grand scheme of things when you factor in payroll insurance rent etc.Gotta be at least 100 $100 tabs on a Friday and Saturday during summer
My guess is that food is a break even. Not very much money in the grand scheme of things when you factor in payroll insurance rent etc.
Food is a separate entity. My guess is that food is a break even.
Sunday through Thursday alcohol sales must gross 5-10k.
Labor is probably 20k a week.
Throw another 5k a month for insurance and utilities.
I could see a net of 5-10k a week in the summer.
yep! own your own business, it's a gold mine! they say. those same words, were whispered in my old establishment. I was still trying to find the mine. lolNot very much money in the grand scheme of things when you factor in payroll insurance rent etc.
after all those years , I have to wonder how much was skimmed at the register? You can make a small fortune running a bar, just have to start with a large fortune.
damm wake surf boats!! Strike againMy first boat, a 1964 Rayson Craft sunk right out front of Foxes back in the 70’s …. Still get together with friends that were there that day! Whenever we’re at foxes we still have a toast for that old boat, it’s been going on for years … lol
Sorry to see that all coming to an end, never thought that place could close..
Dave, do you have any more info on the bidding process? What is it expected to go for?Weirdly I know some wildly successful bar / club / restaurant owners
Just go sell 8 million or so and buy the place yourself!!!
Some of the Employees that were working for EBC there are staying on.Dam was going to go this weekend. Bar closed or just food?

Menu supposed to stay the same.
Should be good to go.
I heard land is up for auction March/April. Bid winner will have to hook up to city sewer and bid winner if new owner would have to pay Donny for business. Rumor is land will go for 5-6 million. Don't know price of FOXS business.
I believe because owner has invested in property over the years they have owned it. Wouldn't be fair to owner they get nothing. I know they put new electrical service in for RV park.If they wanted to keep the Fox’s name and liquor lic. If they want to close it and do something different why would they have to buy the business?

Agree but some people have more money than god. 10 mil could be a drop in the hatThe blanket statement that Fox's has an investor willing to back it seems a bit hopeful. No one knows what the final price will be and to think anyone with that kind of money just blindly invests to the moon just to save foxes sounds optimistic
Agreed. But a part of me is hoping those with real money want to preserve places like foxes. At least for one more generation. The blanket statement that Fox's has an investor willing to back it seems a bit hopeful. Pretty sure Badnochs is gone cause no one could Afford to hook it to sewer?
To me, that place was Far more iconic than Foxes, and we all know what happened there.
I don’t think so.. the Indians just raised the rent on the place and basically closed it down.
Very optimistic to think the GoFundMe will reach ~$10M, probably takes a lot of time to get the cash out anyway. Can we start a GoFundMe and win the auction? I'll kick it off with a hundred bucks. Who's with me? lol Figures. I finally buy a jet boat and the best place to take it closes. FML
Hope they got deep pockets lol.
That is AWESOME to hear!
Great news, just curious on the wording of "financial capability". Does that mean they are working out a deal so it doesn't go to auction, or just confident they can be the high bidder at the auction? I hope they just work it out, no auction, and keep it open as they say. Selfishly, I just care that it stays open and I can still go there.

I was thinking the same thing. The post doesent really say anything concrete.Seems like an odd declaration to make before it goes to auction.
Exactly the point of my post as well. I'm not a bidder, so not really my business. Just seems odd to come out with that statement if it is going to auction and they don't have complete control of the fate of the land/business if they get outbid. Again, I'm hoping for the best and they are able to win the auction and keeping Fox's going.I was thinking the same thing. The post doesent really say anything concrete.
Perhaps they know a couple people bidding and feel like they will be able to make a deal or continue a long term lease?
