How much does a place like Fox's make anyway after expenses. I would guess its a pretty good business but a friend of mine spoke with the owner once and he said not as much as you would think??? Just curious if anyone has a ballpark idea.

Gotta be at least 100 $100 tabs on a Friday and Saturday during summer

Not very much money in the grand scheme of things when you factor in payroll insurance rent etc.
My guess is that food is a break even.

Sunday through Thursday alcohol sales must gross 5-10k.

Labor is probably 20k a week.

Throw another 5k a month for insurance and utilities.

I could see a net of 5-10k a week in the summer.

Food is a separate entity.

I can tell you it's closed more often than not when I drive by arriving late after working all day. Summer weekends are good the rest of the time so so.

We need an influencer to take up the cause and share a “go fund me”. Then when we raise enough to win the auction, we sign foxes to a new lease.

My first boat, a 1964 Rayson Craft sunk right out front of Foxes back in the 70’s …. Still get together with friends that were there that day! Whenever we’re at foxes we still have a toast for that old boat, it’s been going on for years … lol
Sorry to see that all coming to an end, never thought that place could close..
damm wake surf boats!! Strike again

Was there Saturday morning for breakfast.
Word I got was there will be an open auction on the courthouse steps in Parker early to mid March.
Was told the date but I was 3 Tito’s bloodys deep and I can’t remember 🤷‍♂️😂
Donnie supposedly has a backer that is willing to go all the way…we’ll see.
In other news, Saturday was the last day that the Early Bird Cafe crew is preparing the food there. Was great while it lasted!

Dam was going to go this weekend. Bar closed or just food?

I heard land is up for auction March/April. Bid winner will have to hook up to city sewer and bid winner if new owner would have to pay Donny for business. Rumor is land will go for 5-6 million. Don't know price of FOXS business.

If they wanted to keep the Fox’s name and liquor lic. If they want to close it and do something different why would they have to buy the business?

I believe because owner has invested in property over the years they have owned it. Wouldn't be fair to owner they get nothing. I know they put new electrical service in for RV park.

Oh I heard there are improvements owed, that’s probably correct

Doesn't seem like the bar and a trailer park would pencil out for investors, they'd have to do something like Roadrunner and build some units to sell or at least sub-divide the property......

The blanket statement that Fox's has an investor willing to back it seems a bit hopeful. No one knows what the final price will be and to think anyone with that kind of money just blindly invests to the moon just to save foxes sounds optimistic

Agree but some people have more money than god. 10 mil could be a drop in the hat

Agreed. But a part of me is hoping those with real money want to preserve places like foxes. At least for one more generation.

Rudder Room, Fox's, Marlin Club, Copper Room, Double Down, The Joint, Stage Door, Atomic, - all my favorite bars with character and history. Hate to see any of them go.

Most of them located on property that was once not worth much but as time goes by most now on sitting on dirt worth a fortune.

Pretty sure Badnochs is gone cause no one could Afford to hook it to sewer?

To me, that place was Far more iconic than Foxes, and we all know what happened there.

I don’t think so.. the Indians just raised the rent on the place and basically closed it down.

Can we start a GoFundMe and win the auction? I'll kick it off with a hundred bucks. Who's with me? lol Figures. I finally buy a jet boat and the best place to take it closes. FML
Very optimistic to think the GoFundMe will reach ~$10M, probably takes a lot of time to get the cash out anyway.

Great news, just curious on the wording of "financial capability". Does that mean they are working out a deal so it doesn't go to auction, or just confident they can be the high bidder at the auction? I hope they just work it out, no auction, and keep it open as they say. Selfishly, I just care that it stays open and I can still go there.

I believe by law it has to go to auction. It’s tax payer money so has to go to highest bidder.

I was thinking the same thing. The post doesent really say anything concrete.

Perhaps they know a couple people bidding and feel like they will be able to make a deal or continue a long term lease?
Exactly the point of my post as well. I'm not a bidder, so not really my business. Just seems odd to come out with that statement if it is going to auction and they don't have complete control of the fate of the land/business if they get outbid. Again, I'm hoping for the best and they are able to win the auction and keeping Fox's going.
