Talked to a buddy who has the in with road runner. Sounds like they’re red tagged everywhere. Gonna be awhile
Meanwhile the owner is just swimming in his new pool.

Example 826 why the modern world blows. What happens to all the dollar bills and who will now claim the best mudslide on the river?

I wouldn't be surprised if Garrett and Laynee Sholl who now own Roadrunner bid on Foxs.
There partner is the bank. Her Dad has the funds as well. But I don't think he is doing much these days as far as buying.

He owns 3 of the other bars. Big Bend no hard alcohol. Echo and Rio.

Interesting.
I was just going to say, if everything is closing someone should figure out how to try and reopen Rio (again).

If this shit happens someone in the state hierarchy Is going to get their pockets lined off this deal guaranteed. Complete BS. Crooked f ers need to make up for the Saudi water deals being canceled. Cut the head off one snake a new one pops out of the hole. Also if it happens it's going to set a precedence for more of it it's just the way that shit goes. It suks. Arizona's turning into the new California annex. I hate it.

Big MO is now running Big Bend and Echo bar. He had great Mexican food at Rio. But needed to focus more on the bar scene. He has a food catering background not bar. He pretty much Gave up on our echo bar. His focus is Big Bend.

I don't think CRA cares much about the bars potential. Liability not worth it. Camper at Echo few years ago Brent dumb ass that always wore a helmet at the bar. His friend he was camping with stabbed him in the neck at the bar. Ever since they close early or don't even open. Punishing us owners for the campers issues. They were both camped together both fighting over some chic that was camped with them. Few of my owner friends detained the one another owner friend got the knife. Another owner friend saved Brent's life as he was bleeding out. But we still have 10pm closing now and rarely even open.

Well, here I go again, "I BLAME EVERYTHING ON THE DEMOTARDS!" If it's about them gaining money, then everything is on the table that might take away from your enjoyment.

Ok can someone lay this out.
Is Foxs closing?
Is this a new owner thing?
Is this a grads troll?

I’m not the expert and my knowledge could be wrong. Here’s what I’ve heard.

The state is auctioning off three parcels of land from Foxs to Sandbar Resort.

Other than that we won’t know until the new owner decides what to do with the bar. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The letter states that the Sandbar parcel will be going up on the website in February.
I looked up current parcels up for bid and you can see the next goes to auction January 3rd.
So when the parcels at the river do go up, the announcement will look like this…

Maybe some of the folks in the local Realty community(Plunkett, Gory, maybe RDP) get a heads up before February?
Probably is all in “who you Know” at the Auction office.

The “highest bidder” will take everything from us, leaving only shopping mall entertainment districts, apartment/codo complexes, and golf courses left to enjoy. They will control all future entertainment, and the masses will eat it up and call it capitalism.

Thanks!

The big question would be does the sale of the land include the liquor license. If not future of the bar is grim. Not sure how AZ liquor license works. It might be held by the business owner and not part of the land. Not sure if they could move and same license would be good. But I also don't know of many waterfront dock locations that would be a good move to.

Bring back Badenoch's! Maybe the Indians are getting tired of watching the place rot into the ground.........

That was the one location I thought of. Depends on how the liquor license works. If the owners of Fox's could even consider a move.

At the end of the day, when does the land become more valuable than running a bar?
Because not too many want that liability these days in the world of sue happy people that want others to pay for their poor decision-making along with insurance rates going through the roof these days. The entire situation sucks ass I'm sure more for people that get to spend more time there than I. Maybe something good will come of it however, these days hope usually gets instantly blasted out of the sky with a 12 gauge. The question is does anyone on here have enough coin to purchase it🤷🏻‍♂️. It could be quite the moneymaking venture for someone if the price was right. I'm guessing there's gonna be some developers with way deep pockets looking at this opportunity

Liquor Licences in AZ:

This license is a "quota" license available only through the Arizona Liquor License Lottery or for purchase on the open market. Once issued, this liquor license is transferable from person to person and/or location to location within the same county and allows the holder both *on- & off-sale retail privileges.

Why would a heads up be of any advantage to a public auction?

Reading this and some quick Google activities.
The liquor license is ‘owned’ by the owner of Foxes. When the land is sold, if the lease is cancelled, Foxes ownership can sell the licenses to the new land owners.

Money talks.

Same reason why I hate seeing tracks close down.
Sad reality for tracks, farms, etc is they are a pain in the ass and make little money. Dad passes away and the kids don't want to work a farm or track for pennies when the land is worth 20 million.

It sucks but I can't really blame them.

I don't know why I always thought Foxes was on deeded land:(

Nobody that can afford to buy that land is going to keep/run a bar sadly as the land is too valuable.

Is Parker still Parker without the bars/ destinations?
Just like Havasu, the new developments are changing the feel & small town vibe exponentially. It sucks ass.
It happens everywhere, just took a bit longer for the $ people to buy into the middle of bumfuck nowhere investments.
It's the blue collar locals & their economic viability that end up the biggest losers.☹️

And it’ll only cost YOU 450,000.00 and 700.00 a month to pee in it!

Branson's is one of the older resorts on the strip. Wonder if they own their land?

this. But whoever buys the land could purchase the liquor license, then they can have a clubhouse for homeowners with a full license.

For that spend, watch it go full private, owners and guests only. If I paid half a mill i doubt I’d want the general public wandering around.

Very sad news on both properties. We enjoyed staying at Sandbar Resort every summer. Jason and Donielle are quality folks and generous owners. We are going to miss that little slice of riverfront heaven. I have gained quite a few great memories at Fox's and now that my children are of age to enjoy the bar, they are going to miss making those memories as well. I hope this is just a vicious rumor...

How many members does RDP have? And how many friends do us members have who aren't members on here?

Seems like this would be RD's dream purchase. Ask for all of us to pitch in to save an iconic bar on the river! He could use all his connections and conjure up some financial wizardry to make it happen.

River Dave's Place is the new Fox's. 😉

I can think of several members on here that could stroke a check for this and not break a sweat…. Might be as simple as looking at the books coming up with a biz plan and management plan to make sure it’s profitable.

Sure we have deep pockets here but do these individuals not like a solid return on there $$$?

They would probably make more money buying scrapping everything and developing it into lots.

What do you think this land will end up going for? I don't even know if the bar/restaurant adds any value and sadly i feel like the people that bought Foxes years back and invested in the new bar are going to get screwed. Did they think they owned teh land?

My question is how profitable is something like this you would need to sell alot of beers and sandwiches to pay a mortgage on a 2-3-5++??million dollar purchase?
