I expect as soon as the assembly line cranks up and cars are being produced price will instantly increase $2K-$5K, if not before then. These will be the widest, most hp, and safest cars in desert. All the RG models come standard with window nets, radio, roof, custom wrap, bead lock wheels, race seats and steering wheel, and powder coat suspension. No other mfg has this and comes delivered with your custom options installed on assembly line. Speed knows this UTV is almost race ready. Some trophy winning Baja can-am/trophy truck race team is converting to speed and wanted to buy my early car but didn’t want to pay my asking price. Their team had 2 cars and were looking to add another to race. I am in no hurry to sell any of these as they will sell themselves as production starts. Dealers will be looking to buy as well as customers. If they are delivered this summer, buyers will want them for sand season and also race teams. I expect big demand maybe bigger than Bronco demand, as limited supply. I have no worries about my sales as RG stated before on one of my posts that he thinks car #35 will sell for the $80K. I think all these speed cars are a steal right now at these prices and if you haven’t bought or ordered one already you will be missing out. Nothing in the market compares to this speed, not even the R model that has to race in its own class that was made for it. Once the Diablo run is produced, in my opinion it’s going to dominate the R and R turbo easily. Max started last at UTV world championships, made it to second place with flat tire on last lap and then was penalized because he took a line that Polaris said was out of bounds. Maxs car is XX with speed Bandit production suspension. Max is 13 years old. RG finished 5th in a preproduction speed and was also penalized. Speed UTV will be coming soon and I can hardly wait to get it in desert. I won’t be out in summer heat anyway so this late summer time delivery is fine with me. I may acquire a few more cars to sell by then. I plan on keeping a car here in desert and a 72” wide bandit for Hatfield McCoy trails in WV for myself. I’ll pick it up when they are ready😊

i think this is a easy answer. It’s simply because even thought Polaris came out late with their car they never asked anyone for a dime to develop this new car unlike speed Asking for deposits 2 YEARS in advance. Polaris dealers took deposits 1-3 months ahead of production just to give people the opportunity to save a highly coveted spot. They sold out almost immediately.
And if you would’ve put down $1500 deposit or $3K deposit you could’ve tripled your money or more. Because you are getting so much more than a modified XX UTV. Speed will easily sell every UTV it builds.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about !! Here’s the email from kilian the event coordinator (NOT Polaris) telling ALL racers not to take the line he took. We all had the choice to take the easy way or the hard way he and max choose the easy way that was a DQ zone… you need to stop acting like you know what you are talking about you look like a total NUT 🌰 SWINGER.

No need to race. Get a vendor spot and show the car (Maybe sell some spots).
Every other SXS mfg had booths and demo rides available.
the Pro R was looking very nice.
Actual traffic jam of motor homes,5th wheels coming into Hammertown Saturday into the evening.Miles long. Really good to see possibly everything going to be ok.

It may suck and it may be the best thing on the market. Who knows, we will just have to find out.

On paper this car is better than a wildcat XX in every way. Again, we will have to see what happens in the public’s hands.

Don't sleep on the bad kitty. When your speed gets here we will have to compare, from what I have seen there is a lot of design overlap on chassis and suspension components (that is what RG has patented, after all)

Correct. This is what a next gen WildcatXX or turbo Wildcat might have been. The geometry and design is similar for sure.

I wish they made a 4 seat version.

No you actually have it wrong lol.. I 100% don’t care who beats me during a race as long as they race me on the same course. I have taught my kids not to take the easy road. I truly welcome the speed car as it will only make the entire industry better as a whole. I would feel like a total asshole watching my kid up on stage balling his eyes out because he was told he cheated and took a line that was off limits like Max did that night. Don’t confuse me for a hater as I am not. Just cause I’m not a fan of someone’s character like yours and RG doesn’t make me a hater of the product.

Lol we are making progress!

The haters have gone from “you will never get them” to “they won’t be worth much because they are making revisions in future batches”.

I'm assuming your comment is in jest and that you're really not so simple minded as to come to that conclusion with what you read. ;)

There are other ways to make money on stuff, but if he sold all of these for today’s MSRP, he’d just about have a free car.

I think $8k-$10k profit will be easily doable on a flip of these when they arrive and desert season fires up In the fall, but we will find out.
Please don’t tell me you’re adding “Carl apologist” to your long list of accolades. Dude is only here for one reason and you know it, and it certainly hasn’t been to add any meaningful content. As you stated, if he tried to sell his spots in line (that’s all they are at this point) for today’s MSRP he might come out OK, instead of rolling up in here like an ambulance chaser with BS tactics. That belongs over on BookFace or whatever, not in here. My humble opinion.

Why does anyone care why Carl is here? You aren't Carl's accountant are you?

Don't act as if several people aren't here for one reason as well. None of us have anything factual to add at this point other than what is released weekly by Speed.

When it is a forgone conclusion that products improve over time, It is an odd position to take, and the only conclusion one can draw from your position.

Except I never said anything in connection to the normal evolution of a product.
"Normal evolution" is not for a manufacturer to state prior to releasing an item that they have identified areas needing improvement and have developed some or all of those improvements but will NOT be using them on the cars being built at first.

You've tried repeatedly to change the parameters of others comments to suit your "answers".

Also, I did not ask you that question even though it should surprise no one that you will chime in regardless.

Who is this Todd Romano guy? From what I can gather is he is a marketing guy/started and sold dragon fire racing?

Looks to me like he hasn’t done anything with manufacturing and or any background in that?

That would be great if that is what he said. You are truly masterful at hearing only what you want to hear or reading what you want. They are specifically talking about a "normal evolution" of the product.

They were talking about revisions around plumbing and routing that will be incorporated on future cars. That makes my car worthless certainly. Poor Carl, he will be destitute.

Start actually listening at 18:40. :p

It’s all about the humor.. by the way those “revisions” were adding heat tubes to the cab and some other upgrades that will be available to the early cars, at a later date. ;)

He's done aftermarket sourcing and overseas development in various capacities for like 20 years. Probably another hack with no experience. He has set up Speed's entire dealer program. He did all the Wildcat XX aftermarket parts, Hawk performance, and Dragonfire.

I get it. Too bad some others don't.

The Large Orange Warrior Princess insists on revising comments to such a point as he can rebut them.

Now since you are a racer do you actually think RG and Max would’ve both taken the same line if they would’ve know they would’ve been DQ? Watch the speed presentation after the world championships. They asked and were shown on map where it would be allowed. With all the eyes on speed car debut there’s no chance that route would’ve been taken on purpose to cheat.

Almost all this current testing and revisions are being put into our current builds to make them better out the gate. Future revisions are entirely separate such as paddle shifters on steering wheel. You can’t call it future when we don’t even have current cars yet as you don’t know what’s incorporated in and what’s left out for future cars. Polaris stated they would have a shiftable transmission for Pro R in future cars but it’s not stopping anyone from buying it now.

This is where the “character“ part comes in. What he left out is the person who he said he asked about that line is the event coordinator who sent everyone the email talking about that line being a DQ. That same person is the one that gave RG and Max the penalty of 15 minutes per lap for taking that line. its easy for one person to give “their version” of what happened. I was there racing and I 💯 know the truth. Sorry Carl but you won’t win this battle. RG has NEVER beat me in a SXS race where we raced the same course. No butt hurt here lol

Sounds like we need a doctagon style battle between Robby and 702Sandman. Speed vs ProR
I think we will have that in Barstow come October... well maybe the Turbo R

@702sandman are there rule changes coming for the Pro R to allow it to compete with the other sub 1000cc cars? Or will it just be in its own class?

R is in its own class, R turbo can run in 999 cc class. I’ve seen a few R models for sale already. No one has mentioned it but I wonder if they are being turned down at Motor Vehicle Division because of weight and engine size? I have yet to see one with a license plate on it. I also heard that R engine isn’t approved for CA but might be a rumor as someone bought one from another state and couldn’t register it in CA as it has to have CA emissions.

The Pro R 4 seater does exceed the AZ OHV weight limit. In theory a OHV sticker is not needed.

The pro R will race in unlimited class with other non turbo and turbo cars that exceed the 1000 cc limit with a big bore, suspension, frame or etc doesn’t meet the rules…BITD has now made 1 unlimited class called trophy unlimited, that’s where this will race, they made a rule where anything above 1000 cc and below 2000 cc also cannot have a turbo on it to keep it fair. This is same for score, they race in unlimited.
