These babies better hit the dealers before the economy takes a shit!
Can't wait to check one out.
I am with you, I don’t think they will screw with the pricing of direct sales, of which there are only a couple thousand and change anyway. RG stated that their business plans was that the first couple thousand cars were supposed to be loss leaders anyway. Clearly that will be more loss today than a year ago.Barring any amazingly stupid moves by our current administration, I doubt we are facing the economy taking a shit.
A slow down? Sure.
The impact I foresee, only because I'm dealing with it also, is the outrageous cost increase in ocean freight.
I'm assuming due to what's been posted previously that a fair amount of the parts are being manufactured overseas and ocean freight costs planned for 2 years ago have tripled or even quadrupled in that time.
I'm not implying they will reneg on their deals but the margin is going to take a serious beating.
Like LOF says, Speed will probably sell every car they build here in the beginning. Even if they'd rather not...

MSRP is gonna go up, and I would assume after the customer cars are done, the dealer “order” cars will be at a higher MSRP.
I think they will wait on any more pricing changes until they are making the cars.
They talked about that somewhat as well in the releases. It may keep the dealers honest, but Speed is not going to undercut their dealers. The most interesting part of their business model for me will be how they handle the transition from manufacturer direct to dealer sales.
One would assume that at some point direct sales pricing will take a large jump as there is no obvious way to lower dealer purchase cost significantly.
This is what will save 1Carl if he can afford to follow through on buying out his cars that may not sell early. Still a crap shoot though.

I don't know what they will do, maybe they will limit the "custom" cars to some limited amount per year.

Lol. It seems so.LOF and LF.....I'm confused, are you 2 actually agreeing with each other??
Lol. It seems so.
Maybe now is the time for them to sing kumbaya as well. Haha
Imagine if you will...........................LOF RG and LF are indeed the same person

Nothing like some real ride a longs in speed UTVs
???You would think they would buy all the slots back from people that are backing out at cost and the. Resell the lower spot numbers for a higher price?
They aren’t though. They actually broker the sales of spots to others for free, with no markup.
???
Not sure what you're saying in the first paragraph here.
I wouldn't think that.
As with any start up, product on the ground will take precedence every time.
The last thing Speed would want is us "haters" talking about them having to buy back spots.
There would never be a need anyway considering they've said they're not building by master number sequence.
IF some spots were abandoned, just move on by and no one's the wiser.

Because 1 Carl is bad enough of a look for them.I was saying that because the costs have risen dramatically since they started and sold those spots there would be an opportunity for them to purchase them back and offset some of that pain.
They aren’t, not sure why they aren’t..

Looks like I’ll be getting Master #35 soon
I'm really looking forward to seeing these come out.Looks like I’ll be getting Master #35 soon
I thought it was stated that the first 20 were for Speed and then customer cars? The first 50 cars are for speed. I believe the count starts in the run in June.
90 days after production startsSome of the first 50 made will be going to buyers if they pass quality tests and are up to RG standards. I think I’ll be getting mine
I have no idea why I am getting involved in this thread at this point, but just have to state my opinion. I hope I am wrong, but the whole thing smells funny to me. Maybe I have been listening to too many Swindled Podcast episodes or maybe it is the mini series I am watching about Theranos...
Whatever it is, this just seems fishy to me. Every time I drop in this thread the delivery dates get pushed back. It is now 2022 and this thread was started 2 years ago. I understand that COVID affected a lot of things, but this is just ridiculous. He had plenty of time before and after this thread started to do the R&D for his "perfect car"......at this point if I was waiting for one of these, I would be pissed.
His response below is laughable. I would be shocked if any of you guys actually get your cars this year. Also, where are these things being manufactured at? I know that @RiverDave said that he saw the facility with robots and everything? I tried to find information on it through the interwebs, but there is nothing.
Once "production starts" they will deliver 1750 cars in 90 days? Where and how are they going to build 1000 cars in a month? What kind of "issues with supplied parts" are they going to run into? I have a feeling that a couple hundred cars will be delivered, at most and then that will satisfy everyone to continue waiting and waiting.
As of this time last year, there were over 2700 orders. How many are there now?
Like I said, hopefully I am wrong but this thing seems like a mess and I think RG is in over his head with all that deposit money running dry................

You had to go and stir the pot didn’t you now LOF will be in here shortly and we will have another 2 pages of worthless information
Save you some time. Tesla was late on there cars, Bronco was late, why are you trying to hold Robby to higher standards than Telsa or Ford? This SXS will be so much better than anything anyone can even imagine it's worth the wait. If you don't have a deposit down then don't talk.

There is one detail and 2 questions.
Detail- global supply chain issues and no one can get anything built on time.
Question 1 - If no one can get anything out on time, why do you expect Speed to be able to?
Question 2 - Do you really think a multi millionaire is going to burn his entire lifetime network of partners, suppliers, and sponsors to swindle people out of a few million bucks? There are waaaaaay cheaper ways to rob people than this.
Every question you have has been answered in the weekly releases over time. The timeline is and has been fluid, along with every other firm that makes anything these days. I don’t think anyone that has a deposit is worried about getting ripped off. Some are tired of waiting however.
Sometimes the swindle isn't on purpose, the intentions are good from the beginning. However, you do reach a point where you have gone so far, there is no turning back and the can is perpetually kicked down the road. Again, I 100% hope I am wrong brother, but this story has been played out before and I am very pessimistic at this point.
Also, had anyone seen the production facilities that can handle this volume?? If you can post a video with the tour, I would appreciate it. Couldn't find anything.
