If RZRs are up to $60k delayed by the time I get mine... all the better :)
no kidding. At this rate a new X3 in 2023 is going be ridiculous. I will keep what I have and fix what I need to when I need to.
Thats also where the Manufactures hurt themselves, up grading every few years wont happen.
But, material cost cant be absorbed.

Side note, when does off road season end there?

Who needs electronic shocks when you can do this. Someone try doing this with R model and let’s compare.

Ha! Bet you they wouldn’t try that backwards and hit the square edge of the full height of the K rail or at least stagger those farther apart. Good marketing video

There is a video somewhere out there I saw where it shows all the times they failed until they got the spacing perfect so it could make it all the way across. Any car with the same wheel base and tire size and speed would make it exactly the same. You can see in the video the suspension is barely moving. I am not impressed at all with this video.

There is a video where they jumped it into the face of the k rails and the. Went across it slower. It compressed the front suspension all the way and the car kept going.

The video to which you are referring is one of the things that really sold me on the speed car. If I did what they did in that video in my can am the front suspension woulda been scattered all over the parking lot.

Well I think its been 60 days now and they still haven't announced a start date for production. Why am I not surprised?

I camped with someone who is on the waiting list (around 1,900) 7 weeks ago. I am pretty sure he said production was supposed to start in 5-6 weeks.

What is the latest from the weekly video releases?

There will be another update tomorrow most likely.

No update will be given :)
Just my .02 which is worthless, but with all the deposits purchased, they are F’d. They needed to break up the deposits based on versions (model year, etc.) to avoid pissing off those with early numbers. If car 1000 has a bunch of modifications not on car 1, Speed could be held liable to update cars 1 to 999 with the same modifications. So, I am thinking more R&D time will be used to avoid that CF.

They already have all the cars broken up by model.. There is nothing that says any mfg has back date anything for incremental updates unless it is a recall.

by model, not version (year) of that model. Order a car from Ford/GM, you are placing a deposit on a model year. Knowing each model year will have improvements from prior years. Don’t see that with Speed. That opens the door to potential liability.

Ford makes running changes to a car throughout the year. They are not obligated to update a Jan 2022 build to the specs of a December 2022 build.

Tesla deals with the same deal.

If El Jefe unit 1001 has a redesigned gear case, suspension from El Jefe 1 to 1000, that could be an issue for Speed. Those types of improvements are buried in purchase agreements with major vehicle mfg’ers. Did not see that fine print in my buddies agreement when I read it. He is walking away from his deposit and gave me an option to purchase.

So you are saying if they made an improvement on 1001, that the first 1000 got screwed? or you are saying they would have to be updated to the new spec?

I don't get this, because Polaris, and pretty much all the car companies make changes on the fly? There are actually two completely 2017 model Polaris RZR's.. They made a bunch of changes mid year!

It is buried in most purchase agreements and if SHTF a recall is issued. When I reviewed my buddies speed agreement, nothing was in it. So if speed releases the car (delivered to customers) and additional testing proves something needs to change, those that took delivery could go after speed to get that redesigned part.

My speed positive comment..
At what point do you (investor deposit guy) think this financial investment is a bad idea?
With everything we currently know, today.
At some point do you pull out? If so when.
Will you continue into this desert season waiting? How about 365 days from now?

Im surprised you guys haven't given up.

Deposit holders are still cheer leading
Non deposit holders are seeing all of it differently. Its interesting views

Could that happen, sure. Seems like a slim chance a few people are going to go after Speed for a moved zip tie or revised radiator ducting. There are a million ways out of that for Speed anyway. At worst it would be a recall, which unless it was a safety or drastic performance issue wouldn’t even have legs.

Because the non deposit holders have no dog in the fight. Most of those with deposits want the best car possible. If it takes more time it takes more time. I don’t really want it in the summer anyway.

It will have been a bad idea if Speed folds or if the car has some widespread catastrophic failure. Other than that, what downside is there? I can’t build a car with those features for under $50k. You think even if a recession hits they will sell you a Pro R for $32k? No way.

I have a SXS I’m continuing to use in the meantime that is worth more than I have in it.

What Is my other option? Get on another wait list and spend 15k more on a Pro R that will still need $5k minimum in upgrades?

Unlike you guys I have a positive outlook. I think tomorrows live update will be of the production line running and them saying, "day 60, production has started like we promised."

Unless they call me to pay, I’m not even going to worry about it until August honestly. I want to drive the car during the warranty period anyway, not have it sit.

If I don’t have it by Sand Show I will decide to either run or sell my current car. I will just have the slowest car in my group if I decide to run it for another season.

I like the direction the Speed car is going ! It’s a great KISS method

the bed storage is priceless for long multiple day rides! It is a little wide but it’s shorter (length ) than my can am max, I need to see how nimble / tight they turn.

That’s why I said a new what ever!

i don’t watch the weekly “ group on”

when they are out there out!

im actually hoping can am steps up to something a lot better! And that I don’t have to drop $5 grand just to drive it off the lot.

When can am came out with the X3 they revolutionized the sxs market in my opinion..

If speed drops this car this year I think it will do the same.
