What about the Speed shop (old Hastings building)? With MM being the Speed warranty/repair/service shop in Havasu, starting to wonder if the shop will open. The shop was pitched as being a full dealer / service shop plus a hang-out place with restaurant. Thought it would be a cool ride meet up / finish location, but with very little done, starting to wonder.

That is just sales / restaurant and events. No actual work will be done there outside of maybe putting together units after shipping or bolt inspection etc..

I thought it was kinda strange given the size of the building, but I believe it’s a zoning issue

Latest weekly update. I’ll have a guess and say production engine 250 HP without speed key and 360HP with E85 and speed key💪. What’s your guess, let’s see who is closest.

Not sure, but I haven't watched last nights deal yet. Maybe to put a little more airgap between Polaris' numbers?

After watching that video I am going to guess 260 HP and 385 HP with speed key.

With no disrespect you you sir, I do think these #'s are a pipe dream, Let's do some math.....

A solid, reliable 6 liter LS twin turbo engine (not a 1 pull Grenade) makes about 1200HP +/- 100HP @ (6800RPM) depending on fuel used. that is approx. 200HP per Liter
The Speed engine is 1/6 that displacement = 1 liter or 999CCs to be exact. with that formula it should make right at 200HP. Now before everybody jumps my ass, I am aware the that they are pulling that bitch to 9000-9200K RPM on the dyno and that will increase those #'s.
Since we are in Merica" lets switch this up...That 6.0 I reference is 366 C.I. and @ 1200HP that would be 3.27 HP per C.I. ( a Yuge number! ) One of he biggest HP vehicles...with a warranty is Redeye Hellcat 797 HP @ 392C.I. is at (2.03 HP per C.I.)
For the Speed piece to make 385HP it would have to be so where north of 6HP per C.I. (61 C.I x 6.31HP = 385) once again, I realize we are at a little different RPM range.
Can it be achieved?....Sure, but what cost? reliability? 🔥

For more reference a F1 1.6L V6 turbo engine makes an astounding 800ish HP (with out the hybrid battery boost) @ 15,000 RPM! (approx. 8 HP per C.I.)

What interests me more is the Torque #s ....Torque moves things, (heavy things) this SXS weighs almost dbl. what an F1 car weighs.........
HP just says, "My 🍆 is bigger then yours!" Oh yea, and helps sell products!

Sorry for being so long winded, I will get of the soapbox now. 🥱

I am assuming these are max pulls on the engine to see what it can really do. Of course they are going to detune for production to keep reliability. I really hope they aren't ringing these engines out the very max to produce 200/300hp then sell them to the customers with little warranty. I am going to guess once people get these and uncork and tune them they are going to be making 350-400HP. How reliable is another story. But this late in the game I am guessing speed is going to do a max dyno run and post the results and get buzz really going. Then they are going to say "production" motors will be detuned to 300HP, but here is one on 40 pounds of boost making 400HP.

I could be wrong.

In what is delivered, they are gonna make around what is/was advertised for reliability. They can make it run 400 HP in a unlimited or drag application, any of the SXS engines can make 400+ HP.

FYI an F1 car weighs right at 2000 lbs at the start of a race full of fuel, pretty similar to a SXS.

Agreed.

2022 F1....GOT FAT!
Car: 1576 lbs. Jockey and seat: 176 lbs. Fuel: 242 lbs. Total 1995 lbs +109lbs

2020 F1
Car: 1468 lbs. Jockey and seat: 176 lbs. Fuel: 242 lbs. Total 1886 lbs

Speed 4 seat "El jefe" ....weight unknown? My un-educated guess is 2275 lbs. no bodies, fuel, spare tire, ice chest.....ect.

For those of you who have sat in the speed utv i have a question.

How big is it inside?

Im a giant human and my knees get crushed in these sxs. I bought the polaris General because it had the most room by far. I still bang my knees against the dash. How does the inside room feel compared to a polaris pro xp?

depending how big these are im going to upgrade to the speed or the polaris Pro R next year when hopefully this bullshit supply chain gets sorta fixed.

You aren’t gonna fit. I’d have to guess a can am is gonna be your best bet.

Or any 4 seater and then remove the center bar and have it remade then push the driver seat back. (Easier than it sounds)

It is pretty roomy, similar to the Pro XP. The BODY of the Speed car is about 64" wide, whereas your entire General is 64" wide.

The rub may be the back seat passenger leg room once you get the front seat where you want it. The Speed has less rear legroom than an Can Am or Pro XP.

I am also a giant human (not quite as giant as @Dirtbag i don't think) and the can ams are a no-go for me. My knees are in the dash. My boss has one and my knees were bruised after a 30 minute ride.

Haven't sat in the Speed, but will say the wildcat xx that the speed is loosely based on is by far the roomiest I've been in. I've been in all of them but the new pro-r.

can am is way smaller than polaris but i havent sat in a can am in a few years.....im hoping with the 72-74 inches they can make more room

Live update going on right now, pretty good updates right now.

Sounds like the first 50 cars are on the production line right now, some of those will be customer cars, and the production is slated to begin the first week of April barring no issues with the first 50 cars.

LOL 2027 came early this year.

They started production about 2 weeks earlier than originally stated in the "60 day" proclamation in mid Jan.

Yes,
so it sounds like the first 50 run down the line this month, first 10 go to speed and then if all looks good 30-40 of them will go to the first customers. Looks like the first 50 are for fit and finish program. Its getting exciting!
Full start up is April 1st.

Cliff notes version of updates for people who didn't watch?

Speed is doing what they said they were gonna do, and have started production within 60 days with a 50 car test production run. Full run begins April 1. Go back and read all the folks who said it was impossible and they would never be able to do it.

Haters will be in shortly to try to say this isn't really production, and that they won't have trucks to deliver the cars.
