Carl, you really sound like a fucking douche! I have a pre-order car with Speed and I am a business owner as well. It makes no sense to me why you or anyone else gets pleasure from companies set backs!
1Carl has $40K cars he's trying to sell for $80K.
Any setbacks the competition encounters gets him closer to his objective. 😉

Speed is making way fewer cars than Polaris does.. I personally don’t think they are stupid enough to make 20 Speed UTVs and then stop because they don’t have parts.

This is another thing that there is no point in worrying about, because it just is what it is and it’s not our job to solve their supply chain.

I believe the lock in date on configuration and options is to help determine what is needed for the first batch.
Once first set of x are in process, the confirmation letters go out for the next batch, etc.

That said, they will run into raw material issues. Everyone is and to think speed is safe from that means you drank from the wrong cup.

Of course it is, they have expressed that they need orders locked in for that reason for months.

No one said they are immune to supply issues. They aren’t going to build 10 cars at a time stopping and starting the line every other day.

And if they did that fixes all the transportation logistics issues that everyone is so worried about doesn’t it? :)

There’s couple good deals on speed UTV now. People selling at cost almost. I would buy but my wife says no.

based on FB post, I am forecasting production runs of 300. That should take 8 weeks

First car sold to public is car #21. Speed took first 20, some were for testing.

Because we’ve been hearing shit talked about Speed for 2 years now and it gives me pleasure to give some back😊 and I sleep well at night knowing that I did. Now who is a child calling someone a Douche. I have nothing further to say to you but I’ll probably see you in desert.

So now we are back to making WAGs based on FB posts?

We don’t have enough information to really “forecast“ much of anything.

speed posted batches of 300 confirmations are going out for the first 1500 orders

We will see what happens! I can tell you that does not really match the production schedule they laid out before, but if they are making cars it does not matter either way.

As long as your BFF Carl keeps up the ridiculous FB information for his equally ridiculous “sales” campaign, I’d say it’s an equal opportunity situation. Grin and bear it. 😆

The original production plan was to produce 400 El Jefe and then another 400 El Jefe then 400 Diablo’s then more El Jefe. But they may just knock out 1500 El Jefes to get them out to customers, then build Diablos. Poor bandits may be awhile and same with enclosed cars.

So there is a production schedule? Because last time I asked about it you said we weren’t allowed to talk about production.

I am curious, what production schedule have they laid out before?

I thought it was a car produced every 20 minutes but we don’t know how many assembly lines they will have?

Never said anyone isn’t allowed to do anything. 😘

And yes there was a schedule floated out there in the past.

Originally they said 40 cars a day. On a 8 hour work day at 20 minutes a car it would yield 24 cars.

Being it’s automated though maybe they are running multiple shifts or lines? Who knows.

That's assuming they start one car and do not start another until it is finished. However, if you start a car at a work station, do one task and move it to the next station, then start another car, you can finish many more than 24 cars a day.

I think you have this wrong. The way Dave is describing it is 20 min a car (several in process) is 3 cars an hour. 8 hour day. 24 cars. If they built 1 car at a time it wouldn’t be 20 min a car
They did say they aimed at 20 min to complete a car. So doesn’t matter how many you have in process it’s still 20 min. What was unsaid is it 20 min per line? Or 20 min for x amount of lines and still a car rolls off in 20 min. If it’s 20 min per line. To get to 50-60 cars a day they need 2-3 lines. Working single shifts

Lots of muddy water on this topic

yep. one thing is clear, they are trying to show forward progress :)
The next mark will be financing. Since you can lock financing in 30 days prior to delivery, those who are financing will get a notice 30 days out. Paying cash, you wait until delivery day usually.

Don’t quote me on it but I believe it is illegal to finance something before it’s complete and ready for delivery?

I know a lot of the boat builders would often get a customer to finance a boat and get paid in full and then the customer was making payments on something that wasn’t done.

Supposed to be done in draws? Not sure how’s that work for these?

Also don’t quote me on this but I believe the cash guys need to pay 30 days ahead?

When I financed my boat in 2007, I had 30 days from signing docs to take possession. I signed docs then 8 days later picked up the boat for DS. After DS 2007 it went back to the shop for a few corrections / finishing touches. It was very clear, if boat was not delivered within 30 days, manufacturing was committing fraud in the fine print And I was to call the following number at BofA.

That would make sense, as the MFG sends an MSO at completion which gets converted into a Title, and the Lender has a Lein registered on that title.

Wonder how much Polaris engineering team is getting paid each week to watch RG Speed updates? Think they’re hiring as I’m qualified?

I guess it would be pretty discouraging to see your competitors planning to produce what you have been trying to produce for 2 years. But I know they are more focused on building a great car than they are dredging through Polaris' patent applications.

You can’t rely on anyone to protect your own patents but yourself.

Even if this car never came out, all the new to industry ideas on it would be R&D’d - Rippedoff and Duplicated by everyone.

Overdrive transmissions will be coming soon for everyone, driveline torque limiters, flex fuel sensors, closed cockpit cars. Obviously Polaris is already trying to copy the front bulkhead design.
