I like a belt driven pump to take the load off the distributor gear. You can still store oil in a pan and have a external pump.

Guy I bought my f26 from was pulling tubes with it. Twin 300x outboards with 23p props. I never tried those props, but have had some 26's on it and it got going pretty good. Rope hooks I left on it.

Find yourself someone who is trying also, Or anybody for that matter. Every morning text each other your weight. It will make you feel more accountable for your actions. I do it and it helps me...it sucks to tell someone I gained weight, but feels good to show "gains" towards your goal...
