Someone mentioned anecdotal evidence of support for Trump. I see that being the case in small town American and states like Arizona. But we here in the big city see something entirely different. :eek:D

I live in the Bay Area which has 7 million residents. Absolutely nobody here is voting Trump. Matter of fact I cannot put up a Trump sign unless I want my house fire-bombed. The only votes Trump gets here is myself, my wife and two other guys. LOL :rolleyes :p (OK I am exaggerating, he will get 10 votes here :D)

Great Los Angeles has 13 million residents. I understand that the city of Los Angeles and some surrounding communities lean heavily democrat. I suspect those areas are leaning Hillary. You guys that live there can comment.

In California I don't think Orange county can stem the tide of Hillary voters from the rest of the state. :grumble:

I went out this morning to two job sites for construction loan advances and was talking with most of the guys on both job sites. It was absolutely unanimous. All white construction guys were voting for Trump, all hispanic construction guys were voting for Clinton.

Maybe the Republican post mortem after Romney lost in 2012 was correct?

Because of my age (72) i have had the time to follow this election cycle and enjoyed it.Imo,If Trump loses today he will be back in the next cycle, his age is not a factor. His campaign has become a movement i have not seen in my lifetime, except possibly Pres.Reagan.For Trump this will be just a warm-up campaign if not the winner today.
Also, fwiw, been on RDP since the beginning,RD your post yesterday in this thread is incredible.:thumbsup

Politically, Trump is dead. He will go back to being a reality TV star or possibly get a radio show but he will never get nominated again because if he did it would be another sure win, even against another weak, corrupt Democrat. Those of us who would like to see a Republican in the White House should take heed in how we nominate our candidate. The country tends to swing moderate in most areas. The extreme right wing candidates will never stand a chance. The RDP demographic is largely composed of independent, hard working, risk taking, successful people who run in like circles. Unfortunately we do not reflect the values of the current "What Will Government do for Me" population.

It's time for the republican party to understand that a conservative candidate and hopes of creating a smaller government are never going to happen. They are going to need to find a pretty face fiscal conservative with liberal views.

Obama created jobs and lowered unemployment only by creating more debt......We are living in a fake monopoly world of just re shuffling $$$

The pyramid scheme is too big at this point to start reducing government. How many people would be out of jobs if Gary johnson or Rand Paul were elected and got there way?

I don't think we have done anything except add to the national debt since Calvin Coolige was in office 90 years ago.....
Where has he lowered unemployment? There are over 94 million people not working.

I actually do see a possible trump win of the popular vote. But there is no way the electorate will vote for him. I honestly think they have either been bought off or the past 8 years they have been moved into place to facilitate this.

Fantasy seems to be a big part of Trump and his supporters, reality says she wins. I still voted for Johnson as Trump is a madman and she is a pawn of the establishment.

Exactly. Bay Area + LA + SD counties are the majority of California population.

Orange county doesn't stand a chance. :D

Outside of San Diego, LA, and The Bay Area, California is much like the Mid-West. But the three population centers dwarf the headcount in the rest of the state. :eek

Absolutely, A Clinton victory in CA was a foregone conclusion.

California will carry Clinton.

Who cares? Those jobs are not essential to the public. If you want a wound to heal, you eventually have to rip off the bandage.

I say cut everything that can be cut! Education, domestic and foreign aid, military by at least 50%...basically privitse nealry everything. Take the power away from the FED by depleting it of power then the states will follow.

The conversation is moot as the real rulers will never let such happen as they will loose control/power. Get ready for more of the same and/or worse. :thumbsup

I hope none of you skip lunch or go well out of your way to vote for this dog and pony show. :)

Unemployment was going through the roof as the economy tanked in 06-08 at the end of the Bush Presidency. Peaked in 2011 and has been on the downward slide since.

I think what everyone's issue is that it was an artificial economy. Interest rates tanked, quantitative easing, bailout of the auto & banking industry, and the cash infusion into green energy jobs that ultimately went BK.

Basically a few trillion dollars supplied by the government to there donor friends in Washington.

It's a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario but the President doesn't get to just take credit for just the good. He's going to eat a shit sandwich every once in a while and this one has cost the middle class big time.

The unemployment number is a farce at best...unemployment may be at 4.9% add in those that have stopped looking by dropping out of the work force (why they are not counted is beyond me) those who are underemployed or that used to have a single job, were laid off and took a lesser job or two to try and replace their job. The real number is well north of 12%.

100%

I'm not an obama supporter and never cast a single vote for him. Basically what I'm sating is the presidency doesn't really mean shit these days (aside from the bullshit executive orders) the system is too big and they will do anything to keep the pyramid standing.

I reckon Hilary will get in because ignorance is bliss and people are scared of the change Trump may bring.
I wouldn't mind seeing what Trump might do. I reckon if he did get in the system will bring him into line anyhow.
I'm just glad I'm far enough away when the shit hits the fan...
Good luck.

We're in agreement.

Government is simply way too big and too powerful to be effective any longer. It's become a good Ol' boy network of protecting and lining one another's pocket.

The presidency and congress resemble nothing of the common citizen. It really has become the people versus government scenario but they've got the low informed voter fooled making it an R versus D issue.

They have us right where they want us.

Not really. They just changed the meaning of unemployed. Just cause your unemployment payments ran out, does not mean you are no longer unemployed

All I know is this. In every business that we are invested in we can not find workers. We are simply short.

So the "unemployment rate" may be higher by some definition, or it may be lower by some other definition, but all I know is that those who are whining about having no work either have no skills, are unwilling to learn new skills, have false expectations and/or have been so coddled by their parents and teachers that they had no idea what the word "work" or "employment" means and will always be "unemployed".

From the applicant side it is getting damn hard to convince an employer that unknown skills can be learned and the only way past the online apps is to lie and hope it isn't a negative if an interview comes up.

I agree 100% I am in the same boat trying to find people willing to work or work hard.

Now days all they want to do is graduate make 125k a year sitting in a corner office. Mike Rowe has it right with our country is dying with no one wanting to enter vocational careers and the fact high schools has all but eliminated these.

Tell me about it. Spent 2 years doing this while unemployed. Ended up where I'm at entering the job "entry level" part time. My experience didn't come into play at all..lol makes me laugh. :rolleyes
