So now asshole drivers are sce fault. Seriously
If you don’t know by now if the light isn’t working it’s a four way stop maybe you shouldn’t be driving.
But I digress. Everything is right now is their fault.
Fucking A. Seriously.
People are fucking stupid, so yes you have to think for them, we live in California and it's filled with stupid fucking liberals. Kids don't deserve to be killed by stupid fucking people all because SCE turned the power fucking off. Leave the fucking power on. I've been shot at at work, I delt with it and moved on, I didn't whine, bitch and complain like a fucking pussy. Man the fuck up.

They wouldn't have gotten shot at if SCE had been maintaining their equipment, it's SCEs fault

Like I said. Have a good night.
Your not seeing the picture here

SCE chose to not maintain their equipment (they admitted that) and as a result

•A fire broke out

•Your friends got shot at repairing the fire damaged equipment

•The power now get turned off when the wind blows.

None of that would have happened or does happen if SCE would have maintained their equipment. This is 100% SCE's fault right from the beginning.

Sorry for getting mad but this is Edison's fault and the kids DO NOT need to pay for Edison's poor business practices. You are sticking up for the very people (upper brass) that made the decisions that got your friends shot at, your friends didn't do anything wrong, their bosses did.

He’ll never come to that realization. Sad but everyone’s entitled to there own opinion. I suffer for Edison’s ineptitudes. Edison is too big to fail.

Was out driving around earlier and was blown away how many people just blow through intersections? Crazy to me that there are that many clueless people and it is very dangerous.

Half the people driving on our roadways in SoCal SHOULDN'T be driving! The shit I see on a daily basis is unbelievable!

Gavin Newsom: “Sorry California, myself and the Democratic mayor of L.A. who is on a business trip to AFRICA have spent all of your tax dollars on homeless shelters and woke DEI policies so we don’t have enough money left to provide assistance to the fire victims or resources necessary for disaster relief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you”

Normalizing shutting someone’s power off as opposed to maintaining the infrastructure, seems crazy to me. But funding a QRF helicopter fleet 24/7 365 at a time of 35 million a year is the answer for Edison.

You don't have a clue do you.

Respectfully your 6-7 years back.
And personnel I couldn’t give shit when people I know after that fire were shot at trying just to get people their power back.
Hence my fuck you attitude if you lose your power.
Again. I’ll say it. Fuck em. Shut the power off if this the outlook people have.
Quoted for truth.

Do you have the slightest clue what has or has not been updated? I highly doubt it.
If it's 100% fully updated then why is the power still being turned off? You are not going to get 20years of poor maintenance caught up in a few years. 35m would update a lot of equipment. BTW Malibu was the first area that got the insulated wire, their power is off👍

My last hookup was a Honda EU6500 carbed unit. Not sure what happened but customers generator had gas in the oil.

They’re running on a job site rental Honda 3000 tonight. Something is better than nothing but talk about a waste lol.

Went from Bentley to Corolla real quick.
Gas in the oil is from a leaky carb overflowing into the crankcase. if the fuel is not shut off your trusting the needle and seat.

The news names for wind drive nuts. Mountain wave wind, mountain tsunami gusts. Almost as bad as desperation to name the next fire. Instead of giving actual feedback you have liberal leaches on the "front lines"

It will never be 100%. Is everything in your world 100%? If so I envy you.
When utilities started being held liable for things they used to call an act of nature things changed right or wrong that's how it was, when lines came down that were built to construction standards, and they could show that they weren't held responsible if it exceeded those standards. Once Ins. companies started winning cases saying the standards meant nothing and the utility should protect life and property period the landscape changed, so saying they were behind was true to some extent but not really, you can't rebuild a system that was built under one set of rules overnight.

Utilities by nature are very reactive than proactive, give them rules and they follow them, they are not in the business of doing more than required. You wouldn't want to pay them to do things that raise your rates for no reason.

I blame it on the generation of it's not my fault, protect me from myself. I've spent way too much time trying to answer your complaint.

Or like I said. It’s always someone’s fault blame them.
Again.
I hope they just shut the power off. And you can figure the rest out on your own.
plenty of blame to go around but you have to admit like any government or large corporation the amount of waste in spending by the electric companies is insane. example: I’m in Nor cal, after the oak fire,PG&E replaced miles of overhead lines with fire resistant poles, then as soon as they were done replaced those with underground lines.
And if we’re paying some of the highest rates in the country why should they just turn my power off and figure it out on my own?

Live on the news right now they're interviewing a 'Kathleen Dunleavy' from SoCal Edison regarding shutoffs.

She sounds like just another 'Hire' . . . clueless w/ poor communication skills . . . in fact, she had the typical shit-box attitude.

Television news is useless. Sensational, look-at-me and late to the breaking news.

With the right apps you have unbiased, real-time breaking news.

They blamed themselves in their maintenance program and because of that they decided to turn the power off, we as the paying customers paid for the maintenance to be done. What pissed me off was the "Fuck the kids" attitude he was taking, I know he truly doesn't feel like that, he's not a POS. If they want to pay for helicopters then they can also pay for thousands of traffic officers to stand in the intersections and control traffic until power is restored. Edison is a complete shit show.

As stated in an earlier post I do not believe all the fires were Edison equipment but ins pressuring departments for a person to blame so they can sue has forced Edison to take the blame, they have the deep pockets.

I will add, I have been in my house since '02 and up until 2018 I can't recall the power ever being turned off for maintenance, since 2018 the power is off at least once a year for maintenance, sometimes twice. What happened to the previous 16 years, they literally did not maintain the equipment. Remember, 90% of my grid is below ground

BUT!!, If there had been "Controlled Burns" and Keeping all the Dead Brush removed, instead of allowing Ignorant Liberal B.S. Dictate Policy much of this could have been avoided Over and Over with the Same results- The Definition Of "Insanity" 🤔

I agree but controlled burns are a double edged sword, it is very difficult to keep them controlled.

NOW!! Understand, this from watching from the outside. The Annual Fires seem to be Isolated in California and nowhere else in the World. Now what's next? Heavy Rain, then Mudslides, and then again next year repeat?

I almost got hit 3-4 different times today from lights being out and people having their heads up their ass.

Not trying to blame anyone but at a minimum they (the lights) need back up power.
Lights were out on Winchester Rd yesterday people were just blowing them.

Well it’s nice to live with electricity again although the stars were amazing last night before the power came back on.
You’re lucky. I’m going on 36 hours without power and wind gusts are less than 5 mph. But as Mr C said “fuc ‘em. Figure it out on your own”

Just read on one of our community pages that there is a major accident at one of our main intersections from someone running the light. I need to get out of this fucking place, people are just out of their minds anymore. The shit I am seeing posted on these FB groups because of a power outage, is mind blowing.

Let that shit go. You've made your point. How many times are you going to say 35 million? That's maybe 10 of these homes in the Palisades. Yes, it's probably a waste. But it also won't go very far. You're beating a dead horse.

I see nothing wrong with kids and staff staying home for a couple of days. It's certainly not a reason to start getting angry with acquaintances on the interweb who can't control what it is you are angry about. Life is too short to be pissed off all the time.

As for the surprise about people blowing through signals, driver's education is no longer a requirement in high school. Additionally, a HUGE part of your population did not grow up in this country and does not know the rules about what to do when a signal is out or flashing. How would they? Is it even on the driver's test? If it is, they can miss 6 and pass, right? Are they instructed about the 6 that they missed? No, they are handed their license anyway. Or worse, just don't even get a license and start driving. Many of you have driven in Mexico. Think about how they drive. I'm certain that any other Latin American country is no different. Now imagine those people driving in SoCal, because they absolutely are, with very little driving instruction, if any.

Anyway, back to the fires. No matter where you live in SoCal, you might want to make sure to park your vehicles with a full, or nearly full, tank of fuel or a full charge of juice. Hopefully they get a handle on things this morning. Stay safe people.

Is there any news on casualties? I know I have seen five people dead I believe in the Altadena fire, but I haven’t heard anything else. It would be a miracle if that was it.

As a general consumer of electricity I can see how it looks from the outside. On the other hand knowing some of the inner workings I can tell you your wrong. This debate could take pages to explain. This is not that venue for that discussion.
