To anyone un affected by these fires get your asses into your garage tomorrow and test your equipment. And if it doesn’t run go get it fixed.

Finally done for the day trying to MacGyver systems lol.

Say some prayers for those who lost their homes. And appreciate that you’re sleeping in your bed 🙏🏻

Have to wonder if some of these deep blue areas might vote different after this. No reservoirs built, LAFD budget cut, brush mismanagement etc...
An electoral college type system in California would help a lot. The coastal, heavy population centers are walking all over the lesser populated areas and deciding elections for everyone.

Born in, raised in and spent most of my life in CA. Wild brush fires, reenforced by Santa Ana winds, were common. But, this/these seem different. I don’t recall a severe lack of water to fight those fires. I also don’t recall $20M prior cutting of Fire Dept funding. Previous CA fires were not political. This one is.

How long?
Agoura hills, oak Park, parts of Westlake village no power all day, may return tomorrow
Went out sometime around 3:00am this morning. Just got an update and they say they are starting to inspect the lines now that the wind has died down but since it’s dark it’s gonna be a while.

Fortunately have my Predator 6500 so my freezer of Fort Rock Farms meat is still solid.

As my wife said to me earlier. Maybe not meant this way.
Paraphrasing her biblical rant.
God said I made this world I can destroy it as well if you abuse it.
Looking at this map. Maybe she was right. 🤷🙄

I've got plenty of fuel for my gas-powered Honda generator and she fires up effortlessly each and every time. I went outside this afternoon and used my gas-powered leaf blower to clean up my front and rear yard and the front yards of two of my neighbors. That leaf blower has never skipped a beat either. Both of my "Old" gas-powered Homelite chainsaws are primed and have freshly sharpened chains. They are a joy to use and are easy to maintain. Battery powered yard equipment?? 🤣🖕 Fuck the liberals and their bullshit mandates.

Great little generator, quiet, and decent on fuel. It's my go to when the powers out.
They will run like 20 hrs on a light load with just a full tank.

Only downside them sumbitches are heavy and worse when full 🤣but they are a workhorse.

I'll use my gas blower tomorrow and I also have a nice old gas homelite chain saw with a fresh chain😉

When talking politics over this, remember 2 years ago there was the recall of newdumb. Question is, how much difference would have Larry Elders made on all this? I personally believe it would have been exactly night and day difference. Actually on all the giant wildfires of the last two years.
But he got railroaded by a third party RHINO or a disguised LIBTARD!

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm just saying if you are a nefarious organization that wanted to inflict pain on the American people, this is probably the easiest way to do so much damage with such little effort. Its truly frightening if you think about it.l

Not to mention the possibility of some kind of invasion. So many neighborhoods not even near a fire or evacuation zone are without power. Shit, French Valley is literally completely dark right now. Somehow we got lucky and are the only neighborhood not dark (yet) but got all the flashlights charged up and guns loaded.....lol. We even have all underground utilities......so it's extremely odd.

And you wonder why your power could be turned off.
I hope next winds over 20 mph they shut everybody off.
Then who will you fucking bitch at.
Fucking some people. I swear.

And here I thought I was taking the evening off.
Normalizing shutting someone’s power off as opposed to maintaining the infrastructure, seems crazy to me. But funding a QRF helicopter fleet 24/7 365 at a time of 35 million a year is the answer for Edison.

If you don’t think they arent spending money and man hours updating your fucking delusional
But it wouldn’t matter. You’re gonna find a reason to bitch.
As I said. I hope they turn your power off. Then they wouldnt have to worry about being the villain.

It's Edison's words in 2018 after the woosley fire that they are way behind in maintenance and out dated equipment replacement

Respectfully your 6-7 years back.
And personnel I couldn’t give shit when people I know after that fire were shot at trying just to get people their power back.
Hence my fuck you attitude if you lose your power.
Again. I’ll say it. Fuck em. Shut the power off if this the outlook people have.

They still haven't caught up and I don't see why that's my problem or anybody else's, it's theirs, we are paying customers and the money being charged should be 100% spent on maintenance not bonuses or firefighting helicopters

Or like I said. It’s always someone’s fault blame them.
Again.
I hope they just shut the power off. And you can figure the rest out on your own.

It's definitely not my fault, I paid my bill on time. I personally don't think all these fires are started by their equipment, I just think they get the blame so ins companies can sue to recover their money and fire departments can recover some out of pocket expenses. In the 80's and 90's very few fires were started from power lines and no housing developments since the early 70's have been built with above ground electrical, nothing has changed except who gets blamed, can't sue a homeless person or an arsonist, not deep enough pockets.

You're absolutely correct. I preached to my data center customers that unless they had the confidence to regularly kill utility power, then transition on UPS power to the generator and back, their system was worthless.

The key to that confidence was my absolute insistence on building the infrastructure in a manner I knew was robust and dependable. You can't half ass that, it's expensive, but so is a dead data center.

My power has been off for going on 24 hr here in Thousand Oaks. I’m not even close to any wildland. 35 million can go a long ways for infrastructure upgrades.

My last hookup was a Honda EU6500 carbed unit. Not sure what happened but customers generator had gas in the oil.

They’re running on a job site rental Honda 3000 tonight. Something is better than nothing but talk about a waste lol.

Went from Bentley to Corolla real quick.

Have to agree with you we are in Thousand Oaks and have not lost power. We are much closer to the open space than most the areas without power. Doesn't make much sense how they choose the zones.

Maybe enough of the 'liberal richies' who've lost their homes or businesses will have an epiphany and realize CA's entire political system is a fucking train wreck.
Dare I say maybe something good 'could' actually come out of all this disaster ? 🙏
Not going to happen, ever. Blues will always be blues.

How about this. As you know drivers don't have a clue on how to deal with intersection lights being out let alone actually stopping at the intersection, how about kids walking and riding their bikes to school trying to safely cross streets at intersections where there are no lights and people don't stop because they don't see a red light. Maybe a couple kids being killed because edison turned the power off would change you outlook. This is the reason our school district is shut down tomorrow because it's to dangerous for the kids and now the kids miss a day of school or more, they deserve to get an education. Leave the power on

Was out driving around earlier and was blown away how many people just blow through intersections? Crazy to me that there are that many clueless people and it is very dangerous.

I'm not reaching, no joke it's why our schools are closed tomorrow, almost all the schools have back up batteries but the kids safety to and from caused the closures. There were some close calls today witnessed by teachers and the public

I almost got hit 3-4 different times today from lights being out and people having their heads up their ass.

Not trying to blame anyone but at a minimum they (the lights) need back up power.

So now asshole drivers are sce fault. Seriously
If you don’t know by now if the light isn’t working it’s a four way stop maybe you shouldn’t be driving.
But I digress. Everything right now is their fault.
Fucking A. Seriously.
