They are dumping 100,000 CFS out of the original spillway. Why did they not do this a week ago?:headscratch: These are the same :loser: that we've been dealing with at Folsom. I'm by no means an expert but I think I could do a better job.:grumble:

The correct man is in charge now and he has no problem saying , your Fired!

KCRA reporting 113,000 outflow and 45,000 coming in. Lake is 100.1% full.... but they seem to be less frantic at the moment. The river below can hold 113,000 cfm so they say.

Jerry Brown asked for federal assistance on Friday, Trump has not answered him yet, I think Jerry is now over a barrel.

Yep...'ol Jerry is about to get fucked in the ass with crunchy peanut butter by Trump.

So, what did they spend the money to fix these dams on? Making sure the illegal aliens were comfortable?

Water should stop coming over the emergency spillway within the hour, still praying.

That's not going to happen for a while, according to FBT that is 65' tall. Best they can hope for now is for it not to get any worse and try to evaluate.

Bro, get a new thing. Your crying Jordan is getting super tired. Those ladies that you put those faces on were saving 6 animals and possibly losing their homes if you watched the interview.

What kind of animals?

The president needs to do the right thing period regardless of political views

He will end up doing the right thing, but will make Brown face some facts. The first being what happened to the money allocated to fix the spillway. I believe it was approved, but reallocated.
Someone tried to save $500M, hoping outflow via spillway would not destroy the entire thing and now we are looking at billions to fix the damage. Someone should of said F it, outflow to 150k, and we will fix spillway when done to avoid property damage to folks living down river.

You are giving advice about things being played out? You and your lame dick online persona is also played out. [emoji482][emoji482][emoji482]

I'm watching the feed. Seems they have it under control and are making head way. As always, the media is doing what they do and getting people all fired up. Yes it's bad, but if you heard the press conference then you heard them say the original hole in the spill way hasn't moved all day( hence them flowing more out).

The ramifications for everyone in California, if this goes, are immense, broad, and deep. Not just initial property damage. But to flood control for decades in the region, at business, financial impact, residential water supply, economic impact, etc.

This superquake might just be happening in the form of oroville

Just for comparison sake......

Parker Dam releases 14,000 CFS at it's peak summer operating condition. Normal is around 8,000-10,000

The 100,000 CFS being released now is at least 10 Colorado Rivers flowing into what is really not much more than a mountain stream. :eek

Well let's hope he doesn't delay it. There is a time and a place for all of that I'm hopeful he doesn't go and make a spectacle of it. Handle that at a later date

Not to mention Shasta and Folsom are dumping....Sacramento is screwed if that thing breaks.

Folsom is dumping 70,000+ CFS. :yikes

Exactly, I have been watching this thread all week since local media here in LA have not talked about it, I live in Ventura County, LA County and north get's water from central California some of central California get's water from Northern California so if this dam fails it will affect us down here. Orange County and south gets it's water from the Colorado river.

Those boundaries are not exact but close enough for reference.

People I have talked to are loading their shops and everything they can. Cal Fire is going door to door evacuating people. They are being told by Cal Fire they expect the spillway to fail in as little as an hour. It's been 30 minutes since I got that message,,,

I really hope that they are taking extra precautions and it doesn't fail. This is a once in lifetime scenario. These dams were all built right before I was born and in that time there has never been a winter like what we are dealing with. This is uncharted territory for everyone.

Just toured the Daimler water treatment plant in Yorba Linda. 50% from California aqueduct and 50% from Colorado River.

I believe water from Orville is one of the sources of the California aqueduct.

That is one of the things I was worried about. Unfortunately the area has been depressed for quite some time.

so...just something to look at.

This is a screen grab of the failed spillway, in the area of failure, from google earth dated 4-15.
Looks like some repairs done there, don't it?
Wonder who approved and signed off on those repairs?

Just a picture to look at...

I am sure the cops expected this, we deal with this every time there is a fire...
They will bring in the guard and OES will activate Region 5 LEO Agencies first. Would not surprise me if that didn't happen 3-4 hours ago, or more.

I'm sure those people that got looted would rather have that stuff washed away that those thieving bastards to have it at all.

I would like to see one of them swept away with loot in hand! Praying for Nor-Cal. I went to Chico JR High many years ago and many students lived in these towns or were our rivals in sports.

Daughter just texted me that water has stopped flowing over the emergency spillway... anyone hear this?

That's good but doesn't mean the issue is over. It's like a levee and if water is boiling out from underneath it it could be a problem. Also, they have been dumping stupid amounts through the damaged spillway...why have they not been doing that for a week?

DWR was quoted in one article stating repairs were made in 2013 and there were no issues up until Tuesday. DWR should and will get some heat on the repairs and there actions in the days since the main spillway failed. This is ridiculous. Our infrastructure is crumbling, if this doesn't wake up the CA politicians and the people of this State, we are screwed beyond anyone's imagination.

The spillway is not used every year. I am pretty sure that last winter / spring was the first time it had been used in several years.

"Spillway was visually inspected from a distance in 2015."

"This would be a non-issue if they didn't use the dam at spillway capacity, it was designed to run without the spillway, but they've kept storing more and more water to irrigate later, using the spillway regularly. Also would be a non-issue if they'd have done a physical inspection of the entire system on a regular schedule." -- Jeff Connelly, Butte County Manager
