So the kiddo came out of the closet and has admitted to discovering the brilliance of Sinead.

Brutal but beautiful song about the breakup with her ex, who is playing drums lol

My other fav song

The updated stack with the new to me Yammy M-45. I was surprised at the difference between the MX600-U and the M-45. The MX600u is a much nice amp. At 180W/cchannel, the M45 is no slouch, either. But the speaker terminals are older, so I need to either build some more cables, or go with banana plugs to flex pin adapters.

Not bad for $125, I bought it from a dentist who was closing his office. Creepy AF, the dude stops wrenching on a patient and comes out in his mask to demo the amp. I paid him $125 just to make it outta there alive, lol.

So stoked.

This morning I said f*ck it, I'm tired of searching for a Yamaha C-70, C-80, or C-85 preamp to purchase locally. Today will be my last day of searching.

I opened up OfferUp, typed in "Yamaha," and the first result was a nice looking C-85 from a reputable seller. WTH? I hit refresh, and nope, not dreaming.

Boom...serious Yammy stack now. MX-600u and M-45 amps, and a C-85 pre-amp.

And as I listen to some Mangione using the C-85 phono stage - just wow. No wonder these are coveted pre-amps. Outstanding. And I don't even like Jazz lol

Yet anotherr reason vinyl is so cool. I had no idea this record came with a booklet that showcases each song on the album.

I Was Only Joking is just a great song and nails my adolescence to a tee.

Stewart and his guitarist Jim Cregan (far right top row) have a great, recent live vid of the song on YT.

Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. Ferry was always a class act. Stylish, polite and cool. Everything we despise in the English!

For sure one the most iconic progressive rock albums ever...Avalon. The gold standard for testing vinyl and stereo equipment!

I'll just ask my friend David to play guitar on this one....

This one is for http404!

Technically my first "concert". Pops drug us to Disneyland to that little stage below the rockets.

Doug Kershaw and Freddy Fender

Doug Kershaw had insane energy in his heyday. I still listen to his Spanish Moss record on vinyl frequently, it's really good.

The Gimme Gimme's should run those.

If these guys roll through your town check them out...ask http404 what he thought about them

Fat Mike from NOFX used to play with them, but he has been replaced by CJ Ramone from the Ramones
