Back in business!
For Father's Day I treated myself to a new table, phono stage and cartridge.
I got a perfect/mint condition Technics 1200MK3D from Japan. The table was built in 1997, but it has very limited use. It was shipped from Japan in its original box and packaging.
I paired it with a new Mani 2 phono stage and I tried a ATV95ML cartridge. Thus far the new cartridge seems a little "bright" with too much top end/mid-range. But I still need to play around with it. Until then, I turned to the Jico 44A7, which is a clone of the Shure M44-7. The Shure M44-7 is/was a staple on the 1200.. The cartridge is loud (2X-3X the voltage of regular carts) and the bass sounds great.
