Sharp Shooter, the black one runs 74.6 MPH. The orange one still needs prop but runs mid 60's.

They are the funnest boats I have ever driven!
I remember reading once that John Tomlinson said, if he could only have one boat it would be his rib boat.

Saw the boat Saturday morning when we were having Breakfast at Fox’s.
Isn’t that the boat(Mako?) that Eason had?
Sure looks like it.
He was out twice when we were there.
Engine was missing on the big end.
He was smart and didn’t try to run it out.
Hopefully they got it dialed in.
Now he just needs to get his left leg properly timed!

Side note…if you haven’t been to Foxs in the last month, The Early Bird Cafe has taken over the kitchen there and the food is outstanding! Just like in town.
A Foxs Bloody Mary and a Chicken Fried Steak and eggs…best breakfast in Parker!

Yeah, they are dialing in the fuel system just switching it over to alcohol. They got it figured out, they ran out of gear now, so that's next.

Yeah it was lean.
Sounded like if they leaned it another .010 to .015 on the return they’d been close.
I liked the set up. I assume the nozzles are down in the intake ports?
Did one similar.
Works great!

Great video Jerry!
I wasn’t able to go.
Some beautiful boats for sure!
I thought the Bad Enuff we did showed pretty well with all the newer boats.
Classic never goes out of style!
Doug was pretty excited to take home some hardware!

It looked great Mr. Dave! I hope the boats get invited back every year.

HaHa!
That Sanger may have been the most ill-handling boat I have ever driven.
Funny the Howard in the picture below is HUD’s old boat that Barry bought (great handling boat) that now has a blown injected motor in it now.
He gave the boat to his nephew.
I have the v-drive out of it on my bench right now to machine the cases out for a taller gear.
Talked to Barry last week. He hasn’t changed a bit!😂

I met Al Bush when I was 13 at the Pfaff and Sowins shop.
He was a fireman like Dave and Paul.
I was there with Richard Thompson who had one of their engines in his unblown gas Sanger Bubbledeck, “N’Heat” who I crewed for.
When I met him, he was polishing pistons for his engine in the shop.
At the time Bush was driving his own BFF called the Iron Horse.
Then he got the ride in Crazy Horse and the rest is history!
He was a great guy!
I even got to be on the hold rope with him in 1975…but that’s another story!😂

What is that Hondo ad referring to by stating " ---- 173 mph top speed and consistently in the mid to high 60 mph range " ? Is the underlined portion of the quote referring to their average production boats ? Odd wording, but regardless, I loved my early 70's Hondo. 😁
Thanks for all the pics and walks down memory lane. 👍
