@dirtracer At this point I would not order a car, The first adopters have already spoken and are waiting in line. By time they work out the issues and manufacturing can run at full pace, these cars should be on the dealers floors ready to buy in abundance just as any other UTV. Be patient and wait it out for better deals in the future. These cars will come around and will be a great option in the sea of UTVs.

This^^^

I have a feeling that there will be a change with the engine, whether a new company or redesign will the current company it will change. I think it will be the latter.

Asking only those that own a speed car.
Theres no doubt that I will purchase one, my question is, knowing what you know now...
When should I place my order?

I’d give it at least another season to see what changes they make (if any) to combat some
Of the issues they are having.

That said other than the power steering feedback (which honestly I don’t think is that big of a deal?). I’m not sure what issue would be considered consistent across all cars.

I plan on upgrading the heims to the Hollander ones.. I don’t know why everyone is so concerned about making those things stronger and losing a little steering angle..

The idea of replacing them every 500 miles or so seems ridiculous.

The windshield overheating thing is blah.. I’m not sure what I’m going to do to fix that yet but ill
Work on it this summer.. I’m thinking maybe some naca ducts on the roof? Need to figure out the airflow to see what would work.

Brakes still are blah.. but I’m kinda getting used to them (Offroad at least). On road with 4 passengers it’s downright dangerous.

lol I wouldn’t know I’m too busy enjoying my life. That’s what this website is for. You’re way too emotionally invested in this. Plain and simple. I’m out. I don’t care, enjoy your website Mr hustler 😂😂 it’s obvious you don’t remember what you say when you’re drunk but that’s all I’m going to say. The pm’s I’ve gotten have been funny. I’ve lost a ton of respect for you. Later ✌️🖕

So i say to stop clowning on the guy posting actual useful information.. now I’m emotionally invested in this, don’t remember anything and you are getting bunch of pm’s.. and you have lost a ton of respect for me..

Got it..

Well objectively speaking I’d have to say that about as emotional as a four year old girl that skipped a nap. I don’t know what you are reading in these posts that you are taking so personally but to be honest it’s irrelevant to me. You have obviously in your own little world have cast me as some villain for trying to speak plainly about an inanimate object.

As far as the pms. I’d take whatever someone says in the shadows for about what it’s worth, because it usually ain’t worth much.

That's about the same time I stared going to Parker. I was a Jr in HS.

I did put crew for my BIL in DP4 racing for a bit. We ride mostly the upper SoCal desert, but we've been all over.

You ever been to Joe's Valley in Utah? The Arapeen trail system?
I don't have a single dog in the Speed UTV fight other than I'd like to see them succeed because the industry needs it IMO.

But reading through here I saw you mention Joes Valley and my family had a cabin growing up there when I was a young kid and I have a ton of great memories there. I didn't know anyone even knew that place existed haha. Thanks for bringing up some great childhood memories for me!

On edit, my HS Senior Grad Party was at Joes Valley and that was a wild one. Forgot about that too.. can't imagine why.

Anyway... looks like this thread is going in a wild direction.

I have a buddy that lives in Utah. One day, he posts a pic almost exactly like this one, and I said...

Holy shit, I need to go to this place!

So a bunch of us planned a big trip there. We took boats to the reservoir and quads, trucks and jeep to the trails.

Loved it up there...

P.S. I think this was in July 😎

I dig the car, plenty for sale. id buy a used one versus getting in line. . I have had 2 rzrs , 1 Yamaha ,class 7, 2 Pro lites. weller built SR1, Nothing about those id prefer over the speed. Well the SR1 with the yamha R1 motor sounded 1 million times better. However with some time and depending on reliability (no troubles yet) that could change. The car just really wants to run fast. Seems the faster the better. Hope you can handle that. Not many can, Most slam on the brakes. Seeing lots of complaints about that confirms it. Some times thats ok. Mostly in high speed off roading its better to smash the gas.

Oh i forgot also a Textron XX RG 77 edition.

FATCO sets up multiday trips in Utah for SXSs. Had a friend do a few of the trips with them and he had a blast.

Duck Creek is on the list of places to go check out in Utah.

The AZ peace trail is a lot of fun. I did the Yuma to Parker section.

Duck Creek Village is a UTV-snow mobile paradise, sitting @ 8,000' +- elevation perfect for all the high country seekers. It's sits between Zion and Bryce and provides endlessmiles of trails.

FATCO Tours provides limited group multi-day, all or simi inclusive UTV or Jeep trips to Utah and Arizona to places like Bar 10 Ranch and the like.. Google or YouTube them..you won't be disappointed.

That’s funny. I just found out about this the other day.

The auction was pulled down because of the fake accounts to bump up the price. It later went back up for auction and sold for $51,100 to Golden Palace.coms founder. I don’t remember, but I think Red Bull might have matched the winning bid to the Harrah’s Katrina relief fund?

The better part to this whole story is, Robby commented that Micheal Waltrip must really wanted Robby’s car, so after the race, and back at the shop the car was stripped to a bare chassis & body. On night it some how mysteriously ended up getting dumped off at the bottom of Michael Waltrips driveway at his house. It blocked the driveway by the gates, so Michael could not get in out of his house, until they got a flatbed to pick up the Jim Beam car! 😂

I think Robby got that idea from Dale Sr, as I think he had done that once before.

Not sure if it was this car. But one of the #7 cars ended up in Dale Jr’s race car graveyard forest.

I did the fatco high alt tour a few years ago

Tons of Fun! And Really Great People !!

would like to do another one sometime

The navigation is different, he goes off mileage - like at mile 29.3 turn left up the hill

you have to reset your gps odometer

&
with a big group your tail gunner needs to pay attention - keep a log of the turns!

the towns you drive thru are cool 100% All American !! We went in August and a LOT of folks had the Stars & Stripes waving on the frt porch!
Nice to see that….

💯 % - Utah has its own feel and they fully embrace the offroaders, allow UTVs on the highways and support open land policies. I hope you can zoom in on the details of this map, see the trail system shown here and look up the "Markagunt OHV System" map. This map only shows Iron County but they have simalar maps for the rest of the state that's full of similar trails.
Ya truly a gem for offroaders and those that live for the high country outdoor adventure.

Tieing it back to the Speed UTV, my personal draw is having a car that focuses on a low center of gravity, with a truck bed that can haul some stuff without upsetting the balance of the vehicle thus stays "planted". Thats is appealing to me as off camber stuff isn't fun for anyone... but (here we go lol) the reliability has to be there when your 70 miles from pavement...

In full transparency I saw a post that nick olsen (chupacabra) said he probably wouldn’t buy one again.. I was kinda surprised to hear that

NIck has one of the very first set of cars so he has had many problems. He is frustrated because it doesn't seem to be getting better. He got the new tune in his car and doesn't run as strong as before.

You're not saying anything that hasn't been said already...

If you've playing close to home, or on a fully supported race course, the Speed would be fine.

If you've gonna do some Serious off road exploration, let's just say it's not yet ready for prime time.

My buddy had a 4 seater (spot) he'd be happy to part with, if you're interested.

In all honesty, if your wanting a vehicle to explore the back country more, then pure desert performance, I’d look at the Kawasaki KRX as it’s going to give you the best of both performance and ability to travel the rocks, trails etc., with some decent storage. Or look at the Polaris General. It’s a good crossover that with aftermarket support can be made into a more performance machine, yet still have the storage ability. And both are proven & reliable right now. Not saying Speed will not be there. It’s just they are not today.

Now I don't disagree with you, but in all honesty I'm not Jonesing to buy another car, I'm a want my cake and eat it to kind of guy.. meaning I'll stick with my ole reliable warthog that I know well.. and wait until things line up.
In the end I am a pure desert guy that fell in love with multi-day trips in the high country.. I'm looking for the geometry of wheel travel, quality of suspension, lower CG, symmetry of parts, dual shear pivot points, rideability, ease of maintenance and safety built into the greenhouse that the Speed car offers... They just need to work out the kinks and evolve past the the current wave of mayhem which I believe will happen... at some point...

Mi believe the platform is the best one out there. I am with others in hopes that hisun maintains the specs that Robby is calling out..

That’s what happens when you don’t order your car immediately 👍🏼

Exactly, my son has over 1,600 miles on his car. Never been towed, never left behind, never had to cut a trip short because of a failure, never babied but always well maintained.
It’s been to Parker, Topock, KOH, Glamis , Barstow, etc. Even survived a trip with RD! 😁

That is barely dirty. LOL!

How do you like the Speed tires?

It looks like he ran it out in the dirt for five minutes, just to take this pic! 😁

Sorry Dave, but even the wheel wells looks squeaky clean! 🤣

They wear out super quick.. I have a second set for the rear, after those I’m moving onto something else.
You going to stick with 32" or move up to 35"? Those new Tensor tires look nice. I have good luck with BFGs (KM3 UTV tire).

I remember one time we were racing in Baja and rolled the car. We thrashed on it all night to get it ready for the next days race.

Wasn’t even a spec of dirt anywhere on the car the next morning. Car got a full detail at 2am so we looked proper at the start line lol

I'm just giving Dave shit. His version of dirty and my world are on opposite sides of the spectrum. I can only wish I could keep my vehicles detail clean.
