At some point ya gotta ask.. what are ya really adding here, because screen name aside it isn’t comedy. 🤪🤪
Your sayings are as old as my grandma cuts farts dust as well. :)

There’s so many millions $$ of dollars riding on this program being a success I don’t see that happening. People don’t just walk away from that kind of money. That’s not how businesses work.

Now… if you said…

I predict the Speed organization gets purchased and the purchase agreement includes all patents and rights to the proprietary parts and then they call it an acquisition or partnership rather than a purchase I’d be more inclined to believe.

I still think they’re a long ways off from any of these things happening though.
I could agree with some of that and from what I’ve heard straight out of RG over 300 million and that was about a year ago.

Until they start acting like a legit company yes.

To me it’s still a garage shop. Until they show reliability/serviceability they will be scrutinized. Why do I need to say that they are awesome when they are not? Some of you think speed is the best and that is fine. I have a different opinion for various reasons.

@rivermobster gets it too. It’s been 15 months since cars were first released and they still can’t seem to figure it out. =scary

The model existed. It’s not like they had to reinvent the wheel here
I said it before and I’ll say it again I’m old enough to remember when people started racing Polaris rzr in the Baja. They didn’t even make it to the first checkpoint and it wasn’t their first year out. Caught on fire and rolled over way too easy. I didn’t miss a single score race from about 1990 to 2008. I don’t know if you’re comparing them to Polaris, but I’m gonna tell you, it takes time I think they’re doing decent for about four years of development and one year out in the market. Companies like Polaris and even Can-Am didn’t start out making the stuff you see today or even in the last few years.

Can am and polaris have nothing to worry about. I could be mistaken but speed has not hurt their profits.
At this point comparing the 3 really isn't apples to apples to apple.
I see a bunch in havasu, or maybe it's the same ones.
We did have one in our group this winter. Went to topock. It did fine, looked good, no DNF.

I dont post much here anymore, LOF burnt me out.

By the time speed gets these 'turn key' and a dealer network big enough I will most likely be on to some other hobby.

For that reason...im out

Speed is never going to compete with Polaris or Canned Ham in market share. It’s so diabolically different to those brands. They have those brands handcuffed in their suspension aspects but Speed isn’t going to be a contender with those companies.

It’s never going to be a car I’d want in my stable if I go to Glamis even once a year. Just like a trophy truck is useless in Glamis so is the Speed car. They’re a bunch of noise and forever to go.

The Speed car isn’t a car that the wife is going to like if that’s who you’re wanting approval from. It doesn’t have cute blinged out Starbucks cup holders.

It’s a desert car designed by a trophy truck racer. Not a bunch of nerds in a cubicle designing on CAD 😂

Truth.

Let's hope Speed has the funding to see this through.

Here are all 6 days of incar camera from the NORRA 1000 if anyone is bored haha. This was recorded using the Star Stream server so the quality is turned down a bit to have the best luck at it streaming live and it worked great the whole time! You can goto Day 3 and see how gnarly the silt was, and also the damn tree haha. Day 6 stage 2 was my favorite.

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3:

Very nice how do you interface it? Do you use a GoPro and then a phone or a tablet to somehow open up YouTube and start the streaming?

I’m not sure if you have been in a speed but I disagree with the wife comment. My wife made the comments that it is very comfortable, and feels very safe. It has the cup holders and she likes the second digital dash in front of her.

Or did he mean that his wife wouldn't feel as comfortable driving a Speed compared to a Can Am or Polaris?

Yes I’ve been in a Speed and liked it.

I don’t have a wife so maybe I’m a bit over my ski tips with that comment. Just going off of experience with my friends and their wives but they’re weekend warrior recreational riders.

My Speed car is literally my wifes, I bought it for her. She absolutely loves it, granted all she does is drive it, but she likes how it handles, and feels planted in turns.
She may be slightly out of norm though, as she's been offroading her own Baja for decades, and this thing is night and day compared to it.

Using this system right here, all inclusive:

This time we just had it streaming straight to their site, you can do youtube as well but it takes a little more setup so we just kept it simple for this one.

Only the dude that won NORRA has his so far. Speed is working on docusigns and fine print before they release them to the wild.
Also, sounds like only EPA was approved so far, so no CARB yet.

Interesting, I was under the impression CARB signed off.

On a side note I figured I’d let everyone know that I bought a really bad ass rear window for mine. A lot of people were claiming that it solved the overheating problem.

It did not solve the problem. That said I am still very happy with the product. (Both the window and the car)

Did you buy the speed key and are you going to use it?

Just checking in here. 👋
I'm trying to keep track of what I will need to budget for when the 3000# Speed car order I still have left gets filled and the car is here. Please help me out here:
-Brake upgrade pkg
-Shock springs
-Aftermarket turbo package
-Aftermarket clutch or mod existing?
-Clutch cooler cover
-Power steering mod
-Upgraded hardware and heims kit
-lots of extra belts?
-Windshield mod

$20k+ ?

🤣🤣🤣

the car is "badass" but it falls apart, cant run more than a few hundred miles without the belt breaking. Engine failure at any time. Exhaust falls off the car. cant use a windshield. Constant leaks. but its badass lmao...

some of you need to go back to school on what is truly a great machine.

Some of you're stuff is a little biased and off here.
I'm at 500 miles, no broken belt, my heims are all tight, it doesn't leak a drop of anything, my exhaust has not broken either.

Is this a real question?

You don't need the brake upgrade, my stock springs have been adjusted once, and it hasn't sagged anymore. I'm sure you know, most springs sag and take a set, no matter of brand.
Stock turbo is fixed, no need for an aftermarket turbo.
Clutch, it's adjustable, in a lot of ways, but people are starting to figure out mods, like machining the secondary to let it float a little more.
Clutch cover, yes, it probably needs an upgrade or update. We'll see what people get figured out.
My heims are still tight, so no upgrade at this point.
Windshield Mod, take it off, it's 6 bolts, and you can run it up to about 75 degrees.

If you really have a 3K number on order, a ton of this will be upgraded by Speed by the time you get it.

I think the big difference in the car is that it will hold up ok for some recreational use and a few rides here and there. As soon as you put it in a race environment or really push it with a Speed Key thats when most of the failures are happening.

River Dave driving his car around town and on some trails at Havasu is not going to have an issue.....

You don’t need the aftermarket turbo
Don’t need the aftermarket clutch
(imo) you don’t need the clutch cooler
Don’t need the power steering
I haven’t needed any Heims but I will buy
I would skip the windshield all together

Not really but you just gave me the perfect breakdown I needed so I appreciate that and you saved me a bunch of reading with an actual owner review👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I agree many things will get worked out in the next 2000 cars.
I still can’t believe this product was released without mass testing of production line cars.
thanks again for the response

Stop...

You knew you were a beta tester when you ordered the car. 😜

Hopefully, everything will get worked out. 👍🏼

Beat it like you stole it under the original warranty, cause that aftermarket warranty won't cover jack shit! And that is par for the course.
