Multiple stock Speed cars finish KOH and RG gets third in his class. Forum silent!!!! Must not be a ton of shit talking at the moment. Too funny!

Know what would be even More impressive??

When all the people with tens of thousands of deposit dollars out there, actually get their cars.

My friend couldn't give two shit about how many races he wins.

Lots of different perspectives.

You're dad loaned me the plans for his back patio so I could build mine just like it.

Nice pad he has there!

Are you still playing football at all??

Oh badass, now I know who he was talking about!
They did a nice job on the remodel for sure, hope yours turned out bitchin as well!

Played a year of college ball but had back surgery and kind of stepped away after that, wasn't sure it was worth it, and wasn't going to the NFL to makes millions lol
Now I'm just 27 year old working in commercial HVAC lol Feel like an old man now... ;)

Yep, it did. Thanks to Your dad's plans. Mine is about the same width, but maybe half as deep. My whole lot can fit into his backyard. 😜

Sorry to hear about your back. I wasn't aware of that. 😞

I wonder how far off we are from being able to buy a consumer available trophy truck? Maybe not with all the high endurance expensive parts but a consumer version with 40" tires, giant wheel travel and a V8. It can't be that far off.

If any one is interested I have a speed utv Baja bandit RG edition sitting in my garage for sale. Still has the plastic wrap on it.
I think you have to have 10 (it maybe 15 but not more than that) posts before you can receive and send private messages. You already have 2 so respond to this post with a thank you and then post up a couple pics in a separate post and respond to anyone that asks questions. You'll have those posts real quick. GLWS.

There has to be 100 or so for sale right now. With only maybe 500 delivered.

I’m seeing two scenarios

Try to sell for a huge profit
Try to sell to get out from it. Either way I’m not seeing them move too fast.

What I find really interesting is the 2500+ number cars. For what is perceived sales price based off ask of current cars they are upside down right now.

They are in it for 37500 to 42500 and plus 10k in acc and they break even or upside down.

These are not 60k cars anymore. Loaded ones seem to be going for low 50’s

I have kept my nose outta here since day one. I didn't know a damn thing about these cars, had never seen one, heard one run, and only "knew" what I saw on the internet.
While at KOH I met a couple of folks with these machines and got to eyeball them up close. They have had them for a while now, and have put some miles on. After talking to them for several hours over several evenings by the campfire and looking at the cars closely, I see the attraction. I think the cars will be fine after they get the bugs worked out. And...there are bugs.
Just like any new SXS out there. Anyone who honestly believed the cars were going to be absolutely perfect outta the gate, like absolutely no other Polaris, CanAm or other offering ever, is/was mistaken.
That said I heard the truth, warts and all. After a few adult beverages around the campfire (s) and determining I wasn't gonna slam the hell outta them for jumping in with both feet on these new beasts, I got the warts...all of which have been discussed ad nauseum here on RDP.
The known warts can be fixed, and I am sure RG and his manufacturing folks overseas will work them out.
The next gen...maybe the 3rd, of the machine will be the one I would look at if I were itching for a new ride.
The design of the chassis is cool. You can see the racing influence...the front diff section is a stressed member of the chassis, the front suspension is bolted directly to it.
The remaining questions, in my mind anyway, revolve around the power plant and the customer service network.
The engine needs to prove itself in the real world. y that I mean a bunch of end users abusing the hell out of it for hours and days on end in crappy weather with lousy maintenance, if any, over a couple of years. The guys I talked to want the Speed key, and want it now. This is reasonable, since HP is a big selling point, and one highly touted by RG in the run up to delivery.
If they don't hold up I see some enterprising machine shop/ hot rod business working out some kind of engine swap. An honest, dependable, 93 octane 300+ HP in this chassis would be a hoot...offered with a dual clutch set up and it would be dang near perfect in my humble opinion.
What I see as the biggest roadblock right now is the network of functioning service and parts, and dealers. Neither of the owners I talked to are happy with the current state of this, and they see it as a problem that needs to be solved now. AS in right now.
"Robbie needs to let his son play racer at the big events, and get his dealer network up and running. Hauling this thing from XXXX down to Havasu to get it fixed and recalls done, or for service sucks, and won't work for me for long. That Can Am kicked ass out there (Hammers) and there is a dealer with parts 50 miles from my house".
I think this is a valid concern, and if I was looking for a new ride, living 550 miles from SoCal and further from Havasu, this would seriously slow my roll towards Speed UTV.
So, that is my 2 cents worth. I was offered a ride in one, a couple of times, but I am not a very good passenger.
I think the car has a ton of promise. I like the way it looks. I like the concept. I dont care for the way it sounds, but that is a very individual thing.
In 2 years...I would look again. Today, as in right now, if I wanted a new ride it would be the Can Am or the Polaris 4-banger.

I look at it … differently

people are early buyers as it was cheap ! 3, 4, 5K down back in that day - then it’s not that much…. NOW I’m thinking about 10-15k later on that a it’s a lot of cash … to roll it into 10- 15 k cash IN THE POCKET.

that’s big money

I still think if they can make a reliable car it’s the GO TO Car…..

plenty of room, good power, stable wheelbase, cutting edge technology

Yep wasn’t Todd the guy for this? I have said it day 1 Todd shouldn’t have been a part of speed. What value does he bring? They said dealer network plus service centers. Show me that? I don’t see it?

I got in almost 4 years ago, and I have a special order so I’m being told that my car won’t be ready till 2026 at the earliest, which is fine with me. So in the mean time I’ve talked with 1/2 dozen “sellers” as I’m trying to get one and not lose my place. Each “seller” wants 5-12K OVER what their original buy in was, which is perfectly fine if they want to make $.

This has been talked about for the last 15 years and several have put together business plans and never gone anywhere with it. But with the advancements of golf carts in those 15 years, it’s definitely possible in the next 5-7 years IMO if the right person (RG) stays committed

Wildly inaccurate.. I think there’s maybe 20 for sale.. and posts everyday about people loving the car.

@RiverDave did you get your engine replaced?

@dirtslinger2 heard you had a motor failure. With that push turbo I’m guessing not under warranty?
I don't have a motor failure, I lost all boost. Have 2 more things to check. My air cleaner was rediculously dirty, so that is a potential, and I'm pulling the intake off of the turbo to see if it still spins.
I talked to Robby yesterday, if it's not the air cleaner, I'm bringing it into Speed today, and they are replacing the turbo doing any new updates while I wait.
Motor runs perfectly fine, just no power due to no boost. I drove it home.

They had a good showing at KOH. Amazing how they finish races when they leave the motor stock. If Max toned it down about 10% he probably would of done even better.

You might have already been asked this, but I can't remember.. Do you have the original factory turbo? The Push turbo aftermarket? or?

It sounds like the turbo failed to me.

He is mia from here because I honestly just needed a break.. it’s too much to argue about everything and be sour on everything and constantly call rdp river Karen’s place etc..

Bravo. The River Karen's Place and River Hypocrisy Place comments were getting old. I thought about calling him out on it and reminding him that if the place sucks so much, he was free to leave at any time.

But I didn't feel like arguing about it for months.
