If it wasn’t for LOF this thread would be dead!
We should ALL buy him a beer!

after all We get to discuss —
favorite colors / $1500 stock investments / Tesla / Hisson / logistics ( shipping ) / supply chain / sub assemblies and China to name a few issues this thread has addressed.

Where else can you get this in-depth information ( comedy ) from a SXS Thread on A Boating website….

Honestly I don’t understand the negativity on the Actual “ Speed Car”. The deposit was $1,500 on early cars that are listed as 30 or $32,000
My can am max was $31,000 in 2018

a 2022 can am max has an MSRP at $34,999 today! Plus dealer fees and BS

I believe it would already be released if it wasn’t for covid and all the delays and BS - We All had to deal with - remote learning / schooling, essential business, vac shots… the list goes on and on

I also think Covid actually made this car better Due to the delays… more time for testing, development, engineering rather than rushing to get the car to market - your getting a better car now instead of a gen 1 / gen 2 car Or a gen 3 car
Covid delays made this car much better for sure. We are getting a model years worth of improvements at least. And that will make the next years cars even better.

That’s why I always laugh at the “late”comments. What hasn’t been delayed or has arrived late the last 2 years - About everything.

Well since it's back on page 1.

RG was live again, touring some sort of facility that had to do with Electric vehicles and infrastructure of said electric vehicles. Then he was live again on a train headed to a Lithium batter factory.

Couple notes, he said there were 75 Speeds being completed, and he hoped they would have 100 completed by the SSSS. Also said there will be 4 cars racing the 1000, and he would not be racing his TT at the 1000, guessing that meant he was going to race a SXS. He also went into a little bit about using the speed key and that it could also remove the speed limiter, but that would entail a contract regarding voiding warranty and some safety stuff.
He also said that Speed would not just be making 3 SXS models, they would move into ranch type vehicles, youth vehicles, as well as truck mentioned again, and other vehicles, including Motorcycles.

He also mentioned that now that production is underway, he's now touring different types of factories and cities, and he would be home for the Bristol Stadium Super Truck race.

None of this can be true. Hisun stole his car and his business just 3 weeks ago!

Today is the day! Please let us know how the phone calls go if you’re one of the first 250 el Jefe customers. Dave and LOF are either of you on that list?

I’m further out, #497 master or in the late 300s of 4 seaters. Might be another 4-6 weeks for me..

Going to be interesting after such a long haul of back and fourths, rumors, and issues to see how many of the 250 are getting calls today for a short delivery date as they announced.

Sounds like he is going to rebrand most of the Hisun models into Speed versions :)
just to give @LargeOrangeFont crap. Stated above 75 units completed, goal is 100 by 09/15. So 25 more units built in 4 weeks, or 5 cars a week rolling off the manufacturing line. If LOF is #395, at 5 a week that is apx 60 weeks until you see your car :)

Reading the email again, it does say on today they will start contacting customers 1-250, so it leaves an out that not everyone of those is getting called today.

Wanna bet? :) I’ll even cut it in half for you. I’ll have my first car in less than 30 weeks. Name the stakes.

Agreed. I didn’t see them making 250 calls in a day.

So you might get it for a Christmas present if your lucky !!

He is literally betting on it.

I see someone is following along.

Anyone who thinks they are going to make 5 of these a week in perpetuity is high on something other than life.

Going up for sale in a couple hours…

Price and where will it be posted?

Probably RaceDezert and here. $22K with all spares, pair of headsets, turn key prepped for the season, new tires, new clutches, spares, storage, tools and everything. Its not perfect, but a good solid car with no known issues.

More details here:

This will ultimately change the laws for Rails / Buggies and make everyone comply with expanded ROV rules. There's no way CA is gonna let a metric shit-ton of SXS roam free range without helmets.

I said this was going to go one way or another 2 years ago when they said it had a 2.0L engine. I don't think they are going to do anything personally. 1000CC has been the lay for awhile. It is just gonna be a lot of cops pulling over PRO R owners. Hopefully they go the other way and say if it has a cage, helmets are recommended not required. It is going to be very confusing for dirt cops for a few years.

If they go the other way, everyone in every "sandcar" car will have to wear a helmet in CA 😂😂

Bunch of people getting stopped and then the first question “have you had anything to drink today”
I will most likely wear a helmet, just to avoid that BS stop

Well, no phone call or email as of today, and it's past 5 in North Carolina. Also, according to the Facebook pages, nobody else received anything today, but I don't think everyone posts on the Facebook.

I have owned brand new vehicles before both with minor and major parts that have broken and sat with dealers who could not get replacement/repair parts. I have faith, BUT... in the event that the motors or other more simple part failures happen and Speed is scrambling to find a solution or replacement but you are without your car for a month +, what then?
Does anyone know if this below applies to UTV's and does AZ have the equivalent? It might affect where I take possession of my car.

CA lemon law is a vehicle that's been: Out of service for 30 days or more for warranty issues. Repaired by the manufacturer for general warranty issues at least four times or twice for problems that could lead to death or severe injury. Dealer repays 100% of all purchase cost and fees.

That is the risk with buying one of these early cars.

That said the early car is sold at a heavily discounted price, lemon lawed, bought back at the discounted price, repaired, and will be eventually sold again for more than the original owner even bought it for most likely.

FWIW.

Bought my wife a 22, Audi SQ7, 5 weeks ago. In one week it will hit AZ LL. We’ve put <500 miles on it.

Fuel pump. Zero in stock no ETA.

Me and fucking fuel pumps on new shit. SMH

somewhere in this thread it was posted delivers will only occur in AZ for a period of time.
Until CARB cert is issued (past tests, pending cert being issued), no CA deliveries.

You really can’t win with fuel pumps. The electric vehicles may be in your favor

CA is never gonna go backward on safety....so the idea that they will let all SXS / caged vehicles run without helmets ain't gonna happen.

They most definitely will seize the opportunity to impart a helmet requirement on larger CC vehicles, the question is will they stop at 2000cc or just drop the hammer and say "all offroad vehicles originally sold for offroad use only in CA"

Gonna get weird for the jeep guys if they start changing things that much.

Jeep = Sold as a CA street registered vehicle.
RZR PRO R = Sold as CA offroad use only

I think that will ultimately be the cutoff line. Jeeps are safe.

Rails, SXS, etc will all fall under CA ROV laws regardless of engine displacement. Unless they just up the displacement of the current ROV law to 2,000cc, and roll like that?
