Cool stuff!!

We went from we will never get the cars, they will never be at SSSS, to Hisun stole the car, and Speed is out of business, to Speed debuting cars at SSSS pretty quickly huh?

And Customers getting cars in 60ish days. I would assume if that timeline is correct, I'll be ripping mine around just as the weather cools off.

And....Just went live again, show a little bit about how to shift "dogged" gears on the fly, and also showing you don't have to shift them on the fly, you can start in any gear. Though he warned that starting in 3rd is a little hard on the belt.

I think the on the fly shifting is one thing that will get better in future cars. With a new car, new trans new brand, I don’t want to rely on it.

I only plan on shifting to OD on the fly and off the throttle. I know how to rev match so I think I will be OK, but I dont think everyone that buys one of these does, and I’m sure people will be trying to bang shifting these through the gears.

Wtf? Lol. I bought my can am at ride now in Escondido…. When California sent me their registration stuff I threw it in the trash, and just registered it in AZ??

Why would you pay California reg?
I live in Ca and bring the car back to escondido on occasion, I had 20 acres in Ocotillo Wells ( just sold it in January ) Can am mostly lives in havasu.

I figured it’s easier to have a green sticker available for $32 bucks a year, then it is to get hassled by a Ca Park Ranger looking to make his quota !

since we just sold the property, I’ll cancel the green sticker as it’s not needed any longer.

SpeedUTV went live last night, they were testing a car around a track at night. Said they would be there all night taking turns driving.

Robby said they will have surprises at SSSS and customer cars, but also mentioned that customers would have their cars within 60 days, maybe give or take a couple days.

CARB/EPA was completed months ago. Speed is just waiting for CARB to complete their internal process, but Speed is all good! (CARB does not list until cars are ready to be sold, and took months after the ProbR was released to get on the Carb site. Carb is very behind, but does not stop release of vehicles)

35 inch tires along with other items will be available at Sand Show.

Robby commented on tires & cars will being available in Havasu.

Robby has another big announcement to make at the Sand Show.

4 RGM built Speed UTV “Works” cars will be racing at the Baja 1000.

I'm also not 100% they are still in Asia, there appeared to be a child in the passenger seat, and while they are stopped for a brief moment, there's the word "Arena" in the background. That's the first time we've seen any English writing while he's been at the HiSun facility.
Did he show a video of the production line?

pretty quickly?? LOL
hasn't it been 2.5 years or so of the same hope / hype

anywho... hoping people start getting these cars, curious to see how they do in Glamis. I remember seeing them when they first introduced @ the sand show back in 2019 I believe?? they looked ahead of their time back then.

Yes Speed was supposed to fold just for the last couple years, even as soon as a month ago, and we were going to lose our deposits. 2 Weeks ago Hisun stole the car and had Robby Gordon in a Chinese prison, and we were all going to get Hisun copies. Speed would never get any new cars to SSSS 2022, 3 days ago Speed had vacated the building they bought in Havasu. and now cars will begin being delivered in a month.

Just ask the RDP experts about the above, Tucker, and the Fyre Festival.

The car from 2019 is not even in the same league as the car that is being brought to market. They took the time to bring the best car they could to market.. The cars will be 18 months later than promised.

rumor mill galore...

I guess I see where it comes from though... because in 2019 at the sand show, they were taking deposits and said you can have a car before the end of dune season. Either way... looking forward to seeing if these will be a............ "game changer"

Yes. The rumors have been stupid, and they are all from people that have little information on what is going on.

In 2019 they said they might be ready be Thanksgiving 2020. In writing on the deposit paperwork it said Feb or March 2021. And we had a global pandemic and supply chain fiasco in the middle.

On top of that they ended up designing their own engine and gearbox that they didn't intend to in 2019. The car is a complete redesign and evolution of the car shown in 2019.

The car has many unique features even today. The "game changer" is not having to spend $10K-$20K on a car after you buy it. It comes with a ton of up upgrades you'd typically have to go to the aftermarket for.

No, and I've never seen video of Polaris, Ford, Chevy, Can-Am, Tesla or anyones assembly line videos

I would say we have see more of the build process and parts assembly line process than any of the above mfgs as well.

Thanks now I've seen them, even though I've never really been interested. Do you have one for the new Raptor, I have one of those on order

Cyber truck too please! And can we have the CEOs of the company give us nearly daily live updates?

Or is this another situation where they should control the narrative by giving fewer updates?

Very true, but I also don't remember those companies doing weekly updates and then stop at the most important part. I'm not saying it's not happening, but after watching sooo many videos I want to see the next/semi-final step. Why not keep us excited?

All the rumors were due to poor marketing from speed. Rumors start somewhere.

2 1/2 years ‘late’ is not a rumor
Had you said 30 months ago ‘I heard these would be 2 1/2 years late from LOF’. That would be a rumor.

They missed dates. Missed commitments made by themselves.
That’s all. End of story.

Now let’s move on to performance rumors.
‘This will be a game changer’. We should know shortly.
We can start a new thread!

The best way to combat rumors is to provide facts. Speed failed to do that, so the rumors spread. They have no one to blame for the rumors but themselves, but I feel Robby thought the rumors were good for business by stirring the pot. Not the business model I’d choose.

Why do you feel the need to reply to everyone? Take the high road buddy. I used to always like your posts and you gave me some good feedback on my can am that I did implement ( on to BFG tires now lol) Just saying it’s not really a good look. I have had my moment of embarrassment on this site no doubt but sometime things are better left to let go. Im supper happy the speed cars are coming out. In a weird way I think it might actually raise the value of my can am.

Just my opinion. Do you bud but taking the high road is usually the best thing.

Had you said 30 months ago ‘I heard these would be 2 1/2 years late from LOF’. That would be a rumor.

Speed had a weekly update for the last 2 + years. You just chose not to watch them and drew your own conclusions. People have made up rumors based on incorrect BS about this thing for 3 years. Rumors come from ill informed people.

People think we have been waiting 3 or 4 years for cars. People think Speed has vacated the Hastings building and it is for rent.. people think that Hisun stole they car that they produce from Speed…that is just BS from the last couple weeks.

Even you just now saying the car is 2 1/2 years “late” is uninformed hyperbole. At best it will be under 2 years late if you want to go off what Gordon said originally, and from the actual paperwork given upon deposit, it will be 18 months late.

Still even today the people with no car seem to be the most upset about the delivery delays. That alone is telling.

They created half a billion dollars in sales and have over 16k orders. I’d love to hear what you think would have been “better”
for business.

Gordon markets just like Trump does, with a finger to the chest of the competition. Activity breeds activity. Turmoil brings attention, attention brings sales (or votes).

Honestly there were more “facts” on this product put out before it came to market than about anything I can remember. They spent at least a couple hours across multiple weekly updates just going over hardware and fittings used on the car in detail. When has Polaris or Can Am done that?

There are hundreds of hours of details about the car and the process that have been put out in the last 3 years. Saying there was not enough information is an interesting position.

Why do they feel the need to reply back to me every time?

If they are incapable of taking the high road, why should I be held to a different standard?

I was one of the original detractors to this entire car in 2019. Then for a long time I was the only one bringing any actual information to these threads only to be called names and argued with.

I found it far more entertaining reveling in the irony of a bunch of dudes acting children while they tell me I’m acting like a child. It always ends with them them taking their crayons and stomping off when I point it out to them which makes it all the better. And at least it lets some other people share actual information, which has been nice to see over the last month or 2 as there are many people with lots of info that didn’t even want to participate before.

Why these people are so concerned about something they have 0 involvement in and little knowledge of is quite interesting however. Their desire to disparage how others spend their money and what they are looking forward too is also as you said, not a good look.

But I suspect they have the same view I do - they don’t care. And as long as we are honest about that we can at least have an entertaining exchange. These threads are the most viewed ones on the site for a reason. So I am happy to keep the party going.

Robby just put out another video. Production cars will be at SSSS. Customer cars first week of October. Had an issue with the air/oil separator and the check ball getting stuck in extreme heat. So he said that’s gonna push it back a week or two to retool. He said it was a small issue and that part goes on last, they will just have to replace them on the ones the have already built. Good info.

You seem to think that every post made in this thread is aimed at you. News flash, it’s not. You literally can’t let a single person post their opinion here(this thread or basically any post on RDP) without arguing with them and giving them the “facts”. It gets old.

Hit the ignore button then. The complaining also gets old.

Also, I don’t think you know what the word “literally” actually means.

PS - When someone quotes me, the post is aimed at me.

I’m not going to get into cost & numbers, but gotta hope RG & Speed are prepared for the cost and ability to handle the NORMAL warranty exposure for 100s / 1000s of cars in the next 5 years. Seriously mean NORMAL warranty. We talking pounding the crap out of these vehicles in the desert. Cannot imagine the cost to GM, Ford, all them for the bumper to bumper warranty on cars running up & down smooth highways year after year?

All of this "extensive" testing and delaying the car largely so they could get everything right and they are just now finding this issue?

Makes you wonder what other issues will surface with time and the financial impact that could have as RVR SWPR mentioned above.

One issue like this where they have to do a replacement of something on all cars already built (warranty) and that could hurt.

Half a billion in sales? Has anyone actually bought a car yet? Don't you actually have to sell something to achieve a sale?

I'm sure it's been talked about in the past 35 pages but is anyone concerned about warranty work...down time, part replacement.... there is no network - going to be a ground up movement and they are having these huge delays in production.... warranty and service are a whole different beast to manage. It's one this to wait for something when you haven't paid for it ....it's another when you pay 45K or so and you wait maybe months for a part or warranty stuff.....
Has RG spoken about this?

Exactly, Sales figures don't count until the funds have been collected, deposited and cleared.

Now you want to argue about what orders, order fulfillment, sales pipelines, and commits are. Robby Gordon told me the sky will be orange at sunset guys.
