Let’s say they don’t change the helmet law, how many officers will be able to tell the difference between a Pro R and a Turbo R?
Very few, so they will stop everyoneLet’s say they don’t change the helmet law, how many officers will be able to tell the difference between a Pro R and a Turbo R?
Perfect way to catch people drinking and drivingVery few, so they will stop everyone
Likely. This is not that big of a deal. Literally they are just restating the existing law.Perhaps they don’t do anything?
Robby said don't bring your trailer to Sand Sports show, you can't get your car there.
When do these babies hit showrooms?
When do these babies hit showrooms?
Probably before the car. When do these babies hit showrooms?
Jeeps meet dot crash standards and have things like “air bags”. What sxs meets that. None.Jeep = Sold as a CA street registered vehicle.
RZR PRO R = Sold as CA offroad use only
I think that will ultimately be the cutoff line. Jeeps are safe.
Rails, SXS, etc will all fall under CA ROV laws regardless of engine displacement. Unless they just up the displacement of the current ROV law to 2,000cc, and roll like that?

Makes sense.
It’s called grand fathering in. But I guess they could be stupid and apply to older vehicles. Good thing I don’t live in California nor care about California laws if so.Not yore jeep

Speed has made phone calls. "Production" vehicles should be at SSSS and possible deliveries a few weeks later.

But I’ll add this. My 1978 Jeep cj7 met the standards of 1978, both crash and emissions
Positive, one of the first customer cars after their personal allotment. You sure about the calls? I haven't seen anywhere that anyone got a call to schedule deliveries yet. Me included.
Including while walking...I definitely advise most SxS drivers to continue wearing helmets, at all times
Those that got Speed calls post up, very interesting. On another aspect about the speed car, does anyone have an estimate on top speed, wonder if it compares or surpasses or lags behind the other major manufacturers figures. Just wondering.
Do you think the governor being turned off is a major ordeal or something you think a lot of owners are going to do once warranty runs out? 88 sounds fast enough for me in the dirt, maybe not for some of the better more experienced off road drivers but for the average I would think that would be enough.Still waiting on my call, but speed is limited at 88mph according to Speed, but they have had the car at 108 I believe with the speed governor turned off.
I have ridden in the Speed in Parker, and it's quick, I doubt it lags compared to others, but I don't own a SXS, so I don't have that much experience in them.

I have been eyeing the Kawi for a while, love the made/built in America aspect and a lot of good reviews in rock crawling and tactical driving abilities. From what I read and after speaking with a few owners most said it is not really a dune monster but a really good all round quality rig.Saw one of these in person this last weekend, seeing it again tomorrow. Pretty interested to say the least.

Robby made mention of it a couple videos ago, about using the Speed key and removing the governor, but it sounded like it would void the warranty and that there would be some sort of liability forms you would have to sign.
I wouldn't be surprised if some tuners figured out how to bypass the speed governor.
I don't plan on removing mine, I bought mine for my wife, and she'd never even get this thing to 60 probably, and in the desert, there's not too many places where you can even run that fast.
Talked to someone who got a call today, they really only went over financing and such, not update on their delivery date. Only real update they gave was that they could not pick up a car at the SSSS due to taxes.
They were calling you about your cars extended warranty !
Duh … 2weeks !When do these babies hit showrooms?

Did anyone get their delivery call? I thought it was supposed to start a few days ago. Lets wait and see what the local expert says now on delivery spin....hold on to your hats while the calls come flowing in...
5 -4 - 3 - 2 -
Delivery date estimated delays and spinning out further and further.Delivery spin?
What about on the street? did you take a test drive in one yet? wondering how this thing is going to handle on the street and highway if legal in az.I have the speed keys and extra warranties etc.. I don’t ever plan on using it.. but when I got it it was one dollar so why not get it. Lol
I can’t imagine a scenario where I would say.. “ya know I need to go faster than 85mph in the dirt..”

Can’t really think of a reason to run 90+ on the street either?

Highway speed in your neck of the woods is 75, if the car does 85 I was wondering if it was topping out, but if the vehicle goes 106 as earlier posted by someone then cruising at 80 should be an easy task and at a stable speed since this is a state of the art race sxs. Can’t really think of a reason to run 90+ on the street either?

Just wondering. I have seen sxs on the highway trying to keep up to traffic with AZ plates and the look on some of the drivers faces was priceless as cars flew by them, I thought the safety factor was HUGE. Personally I would NEVER drive on the highway except for areas like a short bridge like the topock bridge or short hops to get from one dirt road to another. We were heading to laughlin one day and I saw about 20-25 sxs going up the 95 at around 50 + and it made me wonder.Well officially UTVs aren't technically supposed to be on AZ highways going 75 anyway. And if you think a softly sprung UTV with 20+ inches of suspension travel will handle like a standard car on the highway at highway speed.. well no.
What about in a Pro-R sandrail ?Not in a tippy SXS..
It will flip even fasterWhat about in a Pro-R sandrail ?

Highway driving is scary. Even more so next to a 80k lb truck. 85 in the dirt is hauling ass in a 2k lb vehicle. Shit 70-75 in my turbo s is terrifying as one ditch or rock or whatever could be bad.Just wondering.
