It’ll be interesting to see if they pull it off… so far it’s been delay delay delay, and if the people who bought in, are fine with it… that’s their deal. I’d be surprised if they deliver the cars at the lower original pricing with the high caliber of craftsmanship originally promised. One part has to give I believe. Either it’s gonna cost you more to get your car, or it’s gonna be less than you expected.

Reminds me of the trident boats deal… guy running it seemed like a very stand up guy, concept was very cool… everyone was interested, but timing was not on his side.

LOF yes Ford and many others are missing delivery dates. Most importantly my truck lol.

But let’s not forget. Speed is missing it by years where others are missing by months.

There is really no need to defend Speed the way you do. All the guys bitching didn’t even order a car so who fucking cares.
You have a car on order and you obviously could give a shot about the delivery date. Why argue with someone that has no skin in the game.

There is an old saying about arguing with an idiot. Sooner or later nobody can tell the difference between the two.

Be like Elsa and let it go...

No, it is more fun this way.

What is the overall footprint of the 4 seater? I heard that they will not fit in most common toy haulers??

Only about 1000 cars out of 16000 got the lowest price of $32k. They have said from the beginning the discounts are their marketing budget.

As a company they don’t have much overhead. No shareholders to answer to, no board to pay, no corporate red tape, no decisions by committees and minimal facilities. They do not have the economies of scale that Polaris or Can Am do, but I don’t think they are gonna be in the red for very long if at all.

The key with outsourcing is making sure the QC and build quality is good. So like you said, we will see what happens.

They are as wide as a 72” car with aftermarket wheels. 77” track width stock. They are longer than a 4 seat Turbo S and shorter than a 4 seat Can Am. The body itself is wider than most of what is currently available on the market.

They have the dimensions of the body and clearances on their website.

Most toyhaulers are 102” outside width and approximately 98” inside width, as long as you aren’t trying to put one next to cabinets or a slideout it will be fine.

Yea the slide out thing could be a problem. Let me see if I can find their diagram with the dims on it.

Here they are:

Now that “Trident” is history we can look back at the effort Wes put into that boat and realize Wes is a “stand up guy”. Cool you bring that up. Remember when he brought that boat into LA? Boat Show week,i forget what hotel,Wes parked that Trident on the patio at the hotel and put on one hell of a party at major expense no doubt. The guy tried.

So the new date is Sept. My read is if he does not make delivery dates this desert season, people will start leaving deposits and walking. The ability to flip for a profit decreases each day with the current economic outlook.

Overpromising and underdelivering will kill a business.

I agree. They need to be delivered this year. It seems that will happen.

If the car does what the test and development cars did in the desert, they will do fine. If the car is delivered the way it is presented, it will be a big overdelivery on features from what was originally promised.

The pages of people debating are comical. If you have no skin in the game why are you so concerned with how other people spend their money? Do you heckle people in Vegas? That would make more sense and why would anyone with a deposit on a car feel the need to defend their decision to anyone? Is it impossible to just ignore the nay sayers? I hope you guys get your cars soon so everyone can shut the fuck up.

Owners could always do the buggy trick and jack the tire up move the slide in, then set the tire back down on the slide floor. Depending on trailer layout of corse.
That’s not the problem. The problem is the body is very wide. So the frame of the slide won’t clear the body

A standard toyhauler slide is only around 18”, that shouldn’t be a problem for a 65” body in a 98” wide trailer.

Here is a quick sketch.

By the looks of your sketch some might need auto fold mirrors :)
If the Speed sketch is correct the mirrors dont stick out past the body much. Plus all the ballers who can afford a Speed probably have a big enough trailer to not have a slide in the way or a enclosed with a pusher😉

If someone could answer your first question I'll never post a Speed update again.. how's that? That is all I did a couple days ago - provide a simple update from publicly available information.

In the original thread that was locked someone laid down a challenge to see who could ignore who.. I didn't post for a few days and the uninvolved whiners kept right on whining. We can try that again if you'd like, just say the word.

People whining about problems are worse than whatever the problem actually is. That's why a bunch of members got clipped a couple months ago.

And no, the whiners won't shut the fuck up when these are delivered, I can assure you. They will be broadcasting and making fun of every single Speed failure, just like they chastised Carl for making fun of every Polaris Pro R failure.

No it should be fine for people with modern toy haulers designed for modern cars.

One of my cars has the lighted mirrors that look like they might be a little bigger than normal.

What are they waiting on right at this moment? Is it a bunch of pieces or are they pretty close? This supply chain issue is horrible, and doing them no favors at all.

What do you really think? You are close to this, what is your ballpark?

I think the cars are neat, but the amount of time it has taken them to get the car to market has definitely allowed the competition to catch up I am sure.

At this time they are not waiting for anything, as in waiting for part revisions or testing. That is all complete. The design team and RG is overseas doing their due diligence on all the final components and fit and finish. Drivetrains and components are already being manufactured, design work is completely done. Realistically, no BS, we will see cars this fall. The cars are close, they are getting ready to hit the go button with production.

Yea to some degree the competition is there now, but it was always going to get there. This is a low production niche car for a niche buyer. Polaris has a really good 77" wide car now, Can Am is responding with theirs soon. You still can't get a 300HP car with a warranty, or a shift on the fly CVT with overdrive from the competition.... maybe Can Am will surprise us, but I doubt it. I have heard they have a different transmission in the works. Assuming there aren't any huge problems with them, you can't get a car with this level of customization for the price.

Speaking of price, MSRP of the original $32K spec is going to around $45K on Friday.

In my attitude trailer I have 2” of clearance from the slide to the body. That is with the right side tires 1” from the wall. I don’t see these fitting in a slide area. A

I have a Genesis and the slide isn't as deep as it was on my Attitude. From the measurements I took it should fit

I hope you go for a ride in your friends car when he gets it. If not you can have a ride in mine.

Im not sure what your expectations are on production of a new product in a global pandemic and supply chain breakdown, but things take longer than expected.

If what you believe is true, Speed has spent like $20m dollars to defraud people out of $10m, and Robby Gordon and Todd Romano have burned every business partner, sponsor, supplier, power sports conglomerate they have ever known and also both their personal reputations in and out of the off-road communities they have been a part of for basically their entire adult lives.

If you want a reason why I believe the cars will be delivered, that is why. They are pot committed.
Have you seen the documentary about the Fyre festival on Netflix? They lost over $27,000,000 and Billy McFarland is doing 7 years in federal prison for fraud and other crimes.

The point of your post is "it can't happen" being that two guys have millions of dollars into a venture with good intentions. Obviously it can and has happened.

Who cares? Anything can happen, but this ain't that. You just stand over there and keep hoping we lose our money 🤣.

The festival you speak of had no good intentions. That's why dude went to jail.

If you ever get Robby's dick out of your mouth maybe you could read right. Try again douchebag.

Well this ended predictably and right on cue. When you got nothing call someone gay and start with the personal attacks. :)

Have a good morning.

Yea here it is

There were also drawings leaked that added rear steer to the current rear suspension design, but this might be the next gen car.

"NextGen" eh??

So this would be scheduled for a Q3' 2045 release date?

Those are Can Am drawings. They were supposed to have a dual clutch trans out in 2019.... still waiting on that one. Those canucks are slower than Speed. 3+ years for just a trans.

I know this was not directed at me but to make it 100% clear, I WISH NO ONE especially on RD loses money on any project, purchase or venture even you. You and I disagree 100% on a lot of topics and that is OK with me, you have your views and I have mine and I am sure we will continue to disagree on many topics. We will see the outcome of this venture when they hopefully come to be....
