The whole deal. Owning, retiring all that. Most don't have careers. Some are just finishing college and hopefully they can do something w that degree. Unfortunately they are in debt w no actual job so buying a house is still years away.i wouldn't buy toys if I didn't have a house so I just feel like I'm a few years ahead.

This is a whole other conversation. The question becomes when or if they will "surpass" you... Is that sometime in their 30s? 40s? 50s? It really depends on them, how much debt they have now, and how soon they can pay that off.

Poeple that go get a degree just to get a degree and then go work in retail, Starbucks, foodservice, or some data entry job probably wasted their time and money on the degree vs. 4 years of work experience in a relevant field.

People that get a degree and go make 200K in a few years will have you covered by mid 30s.

I'm not saying you, I am saying in general. If you don't have an emergency fund/cash reserves, etc. and are dependent on your entire income stream to survive, things can change quick in a economic downturn. All the shit you pay for goes from a "luxury" to a liability.
