Well photos of him dead on the carpet have leaked out.
Looks like he took one to the mouth.
Warning graphic.

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/true-crime/stephen-paddock-crime-scene-suicide-photo/
That picture just doesn't really look right. Looks staged. If he swallowed the barrel, likely sitting or standing upright and then fell back onto the floor, how would the blood overflow his mouth over his upper lip and not out the sides of his mouth which would be lower if on his back like the picture shows. Just doesn't add up. Specially with the enquirer's history of fact accuracy.

That AR On the bottom left has a bump stock and a Sure Fire 100 Round Mag. Looks to be a large stack of 100 rd mags in the corner as well.

Two ARs with bump stocks, 10 to 20 of those mags pretty answers the firepower question as that is all that would be needed to do the damage he did.

Are you familiar with self inflicted gun shot wounds?

I haven't studied any of the video's, but the sheriff has confirmed the use of bump stocks although he's not identifying the type of guns.
How many different guns can a bump stock be put on?

Anyone not familiar with him, Google R. Budd Dwyer, politician that killed himself at a press conference in 1987. There are videos of it on You Tube. The video gives you a sense for just how much blood there is not only in your head but in the human body.

No where near. Just stating my observations based upon what I can see in the picture. Plus, The Enquierer getting this picture that soooo many have been waiting for from one of the biggest news stories in the last few years..... kinda fishy there too. I'm thinking more click bait than reality. Hopefully time will tell though.

Not sure of the question, but a bump stock is specific to the model of weapon you choose to install it on.

Edit: Meaning a bump stock for an AK-47 will not fit an AR style rifle if that is your question.

His brother is a nut case. Thinking he may need a lawyer after this interview.

Are bump stocks legal in AZ and NV? I have seen people rig them up with bungy cords, I didnt know that there was actually a manufactured product.

Yup, legal. Slide Fire is one of the well known companies.

Well im going to post his name since its on the news.
John Phippin.
Had 3 kids.
If you live in SCV you probably know of him.
Probably helping someone when it happened.

His last name is Phippen. He used to live behind me, when I was a kid in Van Nuys. My dad used to call him "Lil John" - he was a buff sun of a bitch in the 90's. RIP JOHN :(

I just received this via email as I have worked with him for many years. Rip my friend

John Phippen, 56

Santa Clarita

John Phippen of Santa Clarita was born in New York and later moved to California. He was the owner of JP Specialties, a home remodeling company in Santa Clarita.

He was dancing next to his son, Travis, at the country music festival in Las Vegas when he was struck by a bullet in the lower back.

Travis, an emergency medical technician, carried his father to a car that took them to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where the elder Phippen died from his injuries.

?He was my best friend,? Travis said. ?He never did anything wrong to anybody. He was always kind and gentle. He was the biggest teddy bear I knew.?

In the chaotic scene, Travis had been shot in the arm but didn?t realize it until he arrived at the hospital. He is staying with family in the Las Vegas area until the Clark County coroner releases his father?s body.

?We are all kind of in disbelief that it would happen to someone so gentle,? Travis said.

It seems like the same BS happens every time there is a mass murder/shooting in this country. I always find it hard to believe when family members ALWAYS stick up for these sickos; "oh he was a good dude, or gal. Never drank or did drugs, never got in fights or picked on, everyone loved him; just ate burritos and took out the trash for the crippled old lady next door". The family and friends come to the defense of the accused and never seem to understand how their son, or friend, or brother could do such a thing. I feel most of these people know a lot more than they lead on about these f-n wack job psychopaths in their lives!

I agree with you to an extent, but you have to keep in mind these people's worlds have just been turned upside down, its gotta be damn hard to know your brother is the devil himself, acknowledge it, accept it, in an instant, against a lifetime of experience stating otherwise. Maybe there were signs, maybe not, either way, I don't expect anything rational or useful out of a brother of the most hated person in the US currently, if he was thinking clearly about anything this soon after he wouldn't be human. The press hounding him and family does no good, police and other investigators talking with them hopefully will yield some answers.

First two stages of grief are anger and denial. I am sure all this scumbags family are going to be on tilt dealing with all this.

I can't wait for the videos to be public. I'll bet big money he sat in front of one of the cameras and layed out his plan.

I'm not sure what you guys would have him say. I think that guy was about as honest as he could be, also in a state of shock, and under the pressure of real deal media with big cameras stuffed in his face.. That's more pressure than anybody I know has been under. He shared who he thought his brother was, shared some relevant stories.. he got side tracked a lot, but for 30 minutes didn't make any non retractable mistakes. It's obvious he's very intelligent, but not very personable.

Somebody needs to get ahold of the guy and tell him to stay in his home. The guy is still in shock and trying to make his brother look relatable which makes zero sense to anyone who has seen the events.

I don't think he's a bad guy but he doesn't belong in front of a camera this early since the massacre to a bunch of wolves disguised as the media. He needs a team of handlers to articulate his thoughts because he seems a bit half cocked about the whole deal.

I'm sure he's more than half cocked.. his brother that took care of the whole family and he looked up to just committed the largest single handed atrocity in US history.. it's gonna take months if not years to wrap your head around that, if ever.

I agree, I don't think I would have done the interview. I'm glad he did though, there's a lot to be learned from it. At least we have some kind of picture of who the guy was before he snapped. Now the big question is why he snapped and motive etc.

Agreed. This family went from nobody to the biggest news story in the world.

The guy seems like he wears his emotions on his sleeve and is probably indicative of middle America but he isn't cognizant of the court he's holding. The media are vultures and they're eating this up.

He needs to hop in that RV he talks about and drive it to the most remote campground he can find for a few months.

Has anyone ever shot a rifle with a bump stock? I want to say accuracy would be difficult, especially at that distance, because the whole gun is going forward and back rapidly... am I wrong?

I am home after an 18.5 hour shift. And yes, I am safe. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the calls, texts, Facebook messages... even from people I almost never talk to, or haven't talked to in years. It's always a huge comfort to know people care. If I haven't responded, please know that I am fielding a lot of these calls from family and friends, and doing the best I can. I'm super exhausted so bear with me... a little about the incident...

The first 7 hours went pretty much like every other shift goes. Then while I?m sitting there eating my much-anticipated Chipotle on my lunch break, radio broadcast? active shooter at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. For the next 11 hours, we all experienced a number of things. Stress and anxiety were among the most common emotions. Listening to the radio while we were headed towards the Mandalay Bay, listening to the stress in my partners? voices, listening to them shouting about how many victims they saw, the fact that shots were still being fired. The chaos of not knowing where the shots were coming from, or who was shooting them. The fact that it was a fully automatic weapon, machine-gun style?. Whoever this was, he outguns us. Hearing gun shots on the radio while my partners were asking for help, knowing you are still miles away, is nothing that any cop wants to ever experience. On arrival we moved in on foot, still not knowing where the shots were coming from. Learning vague details from numerous panicked 911 callers? some of them saying there were multiple shooters in the Tropicana Hotel, New York New York Hotel, Mirage Hotel, Paris Hotel? the ongoing radio traffic about more victims being found, more shots being fired? Even that didn?t compete with the faces of people running away. The citizens and tourists we all swore to protect, running for their lives, hoping that we could give them a miracle. And of course the frustration we get when people question you? ?Why do I have to leave?? ?But my hotel is that way.? ?Why are you yelling at me to put my hands up? That?s not very nice.? ?Why are you pointing rifles at me? That?s scary.? The herding dogs get frustrated with the sheep who don?t want to listen. That?s why the Sheepdog has to bite the sheep, growl at the sheep, essentially scare the sheep into submission, for their own good. Because some just don?t know how to save themselves. Some don?t know or understand the magnitude of what is unfolding. Now the most deadly active shooter incident in modern American history, and I try to save your life and rush you to safety, and the Sheepdogs, herding the sheep to safety, are criticized for their ?aggression.? But all those negatives are forgotten when you find a crying, terrified family sheltered in place inside a bathroom stall. When you get to guide a horrified mother and her crying child to safety.

But even that? even that does not compare to the most powerful, and to me one of the most important aspects of this whole thing. The bravery and courage of first responders that only we get to witness and fully understand. The fact that one of my coworkers was on vacation tonight, heard what was happening, and suited up at home and came with us to fight the wolf. In my 12-man unit, only 9 of us were ?on duty? - the other 3 came from home when they heard what was unfolding. At the end of the day, we fight side by side, and we go in together. Unfortunately, we don?t always all make it out, and today, an LVMPD police officer who was off duty attending the concert, was among those who tragically did not make it out of the festival alive. Today I will honor that Officer, along with the more than 50 people who died. Today I will think of their families and friends, who now have to learn how to go on without their loved one. And today I will ask you, for one day, to put your politics aside. Forget about Donald Trump. Forget about the NFL. Forget about whether you should stand or kneel. Forget about our differences in opinion when it comes to policing in America, and how cops treat their communities. Let?s come together as a UNITED nation, and honor the victims and their families. Let?s come together as a UNITED nation and honor the first responders who worked incredibly long and stressful shifts, without food, water, or even bathroom breaks. If you wonder how cops view the communities they police, consider the fact that so many of them came in today, off duty, to help. Not because it?s a job, but because it?s their calling. It?s who they are.

The sheep don?t always want the sheepdog around, because he reminds them there is evil in the world. But, still, the sheepdog is willing to fight in defense of the sheep, and at a moment?s notice, he is willing to lay down his own life for the sheep he loves. It is simply who he is.

I will this weekend.

But it's gotta be a lot like full auto, accuracy goes out the window and you're only intent is to put rounds down range.

I don't believe he was aiming at anything but a giant mass of people, shooting indiscriminately.

I have a question. Why is it that the day after 9/11 and the day after every incident since we knew the names home address blood types names of children and what they had for breakfast? Vegas is almost 36 hours old and we have a name a gun count a wacked out brother and a criminal father. This is all the US gov't has dug up so far?

I don't have enough tinfoil for the shit that I've read but one particular conspiracy theory has stood out as being plausible because the lack of information being provided and how the events unfolded.

I had shared your facebook post earlier today with no idea that you were on this site. My parents were there and escaped without harm by some miracle. My dad is retired SDPD and keeps repeating how well you guys ran the incident. Thank you so much for everything you did. I you are at the RDP 10yr I would love to shake your hand.

Get some rest and thank you,
Jeremy

I should?ve prefaced that post with a line saying TXT received from LV SWAT operator. I had put it in the title line but it doesn?t show on Tapatalk only on the web browser.

That text messages wasn?t wrote by me, however, I am a SWAT Operator here in Phoenix and you bet your ass had I been there I would have thrown my kit on, grabbed my rifle, and went to war!

Last week was the National Tactical Officers Association conference (NTOA) here in Phoenix. Hundreds of SWAT Operators includes some from Vegas were here in the valley training. I know a few of them who are on the team. I have been able to speak to some and hear the truth, no media spin non sense that?s out there right now. There?s more to come on this deal.

Has anyone ever shot a rifle with a bump stock? I want to say accuracy would be difficult, especially at that distance, because the whole gun is going forward and back rapidly... am I wrong?

You're not entirely wrong. The use of a SlideFire or other bump fire stock won't yield the same accuracy as a shooter deliberately taking aim with each squeeze of the trigger, but with even a little practice one can quickly learn how to 'walk' their fire onto target. At the distances this turd was firing, however, I'd be surprised if he was doing anything more than spraying fire into the clusters of people indiscriminately. At least when the bump firing was taking place.

Am I the only one wondering why, when he was sitting there with an arsenal...he made a special trip to harbor freight to pick up one of the shorty novelty hammers to break the windows? A bullet or 2 would have done the job just fine...no?

Just saw the live leak video of a Guy going around checking pulses. The Girl my Sister text me a picture of is dead nobody by her side. Cant imagine how her friends felt to leave her to save themselves. Rough to watch.

The First Responders and Hospital workers I can't imagine what they have seen. I know they are doing a great job. Numbers are not climbing like I expected. Still 31 listed critical.

Based on the carpet I've seen in the other pics and all the shell casings that's the POS. It's the best pic of him I'll ever see.

You can copy and paste these 2 sections of text together:

More video of the same flashing strobe light. It seems to be similar in timing to the auto-fire except for one thing: the light keeps flashing even when there's no sound of a weapon being fired.

There's a lot of stuff we don't know - in fact, we hardly know anything but based on what I've seen I'll say this: that POS was the only 1 firing and we probably have the security guard (who was reportedly shot in the leg outside his door) for distracting him. It's what I'll guess kept this scumbag from continuing to fire on the people down below. And it could also mean that this POS shot himself well before the SWAT team breached the door and came into the room.

Who is the security guard?! When will we hear more about him? If what we've heard is true HE IS A HERO!
