Torrance area and surrounding beach cities we refer to as southbay. She asked about the River neighbors who were not accounted for last night. Followed by 2 pics of friends that were lost. Watching the 7 pm news conference and MGM properties is going above and beyond for everybody that is affected by this tragedy. I can't even list all the things they have committed to do to help. For free.

Everybody's reactions to the shooting, from the heros that were at the concert, to the first responders, the people that have lined up today to donate blood, and just everybody that has selflessly done anything they could to help....... all of this has made me so proud of my fellow countrymen. The heart we Americans show and use in times of grief and stressful situations never ceases to amaze me.

Torrance Assistant Fire Chief Steve. One of the first to the hospital. Said they will need beds for victims coming in not him and one in cardiac arrest got the bed. My River Neighbor a Torrance Capt nephew shot but going to be ok.

The young man about #6 on the list, Adrian Murfitt, was a friend of a son of a guy I grew up with in Anchorage.
My friends son and him were there together.
The son was right next to him and did not get hit. I didn't know him, or my friends son (he was just a little kid when I left Alaska).

Talked to my three young grandsons last night about this. It was difficult as they are just young kids but they of course have seen the news reports. Sad to see them growing up in these times. Innocence have been stolen from them and children in general are too young of an age. Wish the world could slow down for them but sadly it won't.

With respect to all dealing with persons involved, I don't want the thread to turn into something else. But part of this whole situation is the empty and helpless feeling of not being able to rationalize "why" things like this happen. What makes a person lose all sense of conscience and regard for others to not just shoot into a crowd of innocent strangers, but to take the time to plan to do it.......

Such a horrible action and basically no obvious reason why this person reached this point. 9/11 had a motive, a terrible one of hate, but this incident makes no sense at all and that is even harder to deal with after the fact. Losing all these wonderful and innocent human beings for absolutely nothing makes it even harder.

The sickening feeling in my gut from yesterday morning just knowing my loved ones were there and got out prior haunts me on how close they came. I cannot imagine what others who lost their people must be going through. Thoughts and prayers to all and may you stay strong and heal as possible.
