Good boat dogs always make me smile. It's been a while since we have had a 4-legged family member. I think perhaps next year we may try for an addition to the family.

My son came home with this little loaded pistol the other day. Named him Ranger and has a lot of the same colors of Phx and about 10 weeks old. Said Ranger is supposed to be a Shep-Lab mix. I aint buying it. Lol. If she had cattle dog ears he would be like Phx mini-me.

Phx is putting up with him pretty well but her schedule is all screwed up now and she is def schedule oriented.

We've not had a fur baby for many years. When Dixie passed away we felt we needed a break. Both Hunter and Dixie were part of our family growing up and many people here had their pups. We're just not ready yet for the attention we need to give. We've always had Labs, I'm not sure we will go that route this time but you never know, our neighbor is a breeder, so might be had to say no to another Lab. I'd really like to have something to help with the bears. LOL

There are a few breeds. Some are not legal for residency at Islander, all are big and will need space we don't have when we are in Havasu. Small dogs are out. The Eagles and all the other predators up here will use a small dog for a snack. Maybe next summer will make the commitment. For now the kids loan us their dogs from time to time.

Always wanted one of these big boys......Not many around but saw one in the channel in LHC about 3-4 years ago. Could not believe the size of the paws. Wonder if one of these would be good

My son welcomed his new hunting partner Winchester home a few days ago...we did a little hunt training and wing training with the breeder/trainer when we picked him up...hes holding some good steady points already for such a young age...hes a handful already and we have had some sleepless nights the last few days lol...

Wading pools for your dog - Our Newf had a plastic pool in our backyard. She’d use it a little bit. When having a backyard party we’d put goldfish in her pool. That kept her occupied throughout the party. But, every time she caught one she would have to bring it over and show everybody.

Bear has been in and out of the hospital again dr say he is not suffering but has conginital heart failure and take him home and let him pass..could be any day or week even a month but i cant look him in the eyes without me tearing up......this is so so hard..i have had my buddy since he was 7 weeks..vet said 13 1/2 is a long life for him.....i took him down to the lake where he loves to play but he just stood in the water and stared out across the lake then i picked him up and put him back in the suv,,,,we are just loving on him all day and night getting treats.......will keep u guys up to date.....last picture is tonight

got bear lifted into car today went to take him to his favorite beach at the lake and went i went to lift him out he growled and showed teeth .but then started linking my arm when i let go..so i didnt etempt to get him out.......i got him a vanilla cone at micky deeez and took him back home where he curled up in front of his fan .......its tearing my heart apart.......poor old pup hard to beleive thats the same dog in my avatar

Great looking pups. Today I started thinking of adding a pup to roam the property. Phx is doing great but I thought of a Rottie addition. When I was in Cave Creek with 4 Pitties I felt i had the safest house around

Fee sleeping thru a rain storm. We knew it was coming, just chose boating over being stuck in the living room all day. Had the top up and was ready. Only lasted about 15 minutes. Got 6 hours on the lake out of it.
