Now before anyone comments on the staples and zipper.. I have so many scars on my feet I told him I didn’t care what it looked like I wanted the strongest stitches possible to heal the quickest etc..

That being said FrankenAnkle.. and yes it feels about how it looks. Lol

Note the staples up and down the leg from the pins that were going through the skin into the bones. That’s a nice touch. Lol

When I was hauling in my Box Anchor yesterday, I was standing on the bow cushion. When it cleared the water it got hung up on the rub rail, so I gave it a jerk. It came flying into the boat and I fell backward into the bow area. The anchor landed on my big toe and before the pain hit I thought to myself "I just did a River Dave". Toe not broken, just many different colors. Not sure if it is better to use your boat tool kit or first aid kit more often. I'm about even lately.

I spent a life time selling those staples! For what’s its worth - the staple isn’t what makes it hold better or be stronger - the skin is the weak link and will cut or tear with a staple or a suture.

Staples are used to speed closure when used on skin - if used for internal surgery they are used for precision and being able to place 100 spaces at once instead of each suture individually (the skin and internal device looks completely different) skin staple one at a time - internal staples can place 30/40/50 etc at once.

I have found that different places have metal detectors set to different levels of sensitivity. I have only set off Knott's berry farm and San Diego airport once each.

The shriveled skin is from the leg being so swollen and then going back down. It should return to normal at some point.

Thanks to the war on opiates they won’t give me anymore pain pills without going to pain management and addiction classes etc..

So now we just get to suck it up basically.

I agree - Get off of it if you can, but if you need it, do what they say to get it, or see a local doc that may be willingly to get you what you need for a couple weeks.

See if you can get some DUEXIS - It is just a coated Iburofen 800 that doesn't eat at the lining of your stomach. Those and muscle relaxers worked wonders for me when dealing with pain.

Honestly that's a good thing. I hated the pain meds.....They worked but I (and you) have seen first hand what that shit will do to someone. I will say this after experimenting with CBD oil, Im sold. I am down to barely even taking ibuprofen. A month ago I was taking 2-3 Norcos a day, 3 800 Ibu and a flexiril every night to go to bed. Im now down to an occasional Ibu and CBD in the am and before bed. im also in much less naggin pain then before with the pain med cocktail I was taking before.

The odds of me getting hooked on these things are less than zero. I hate the way they make me feel. I hate everything about them. I have been breaking them in half since the first week and taking half doses.. since then even less and only when I’m riding the lightning so to speak.

I got off the Percocet's as quickly as I could. Alternated Ibuprofen and Tylenol after that for a bit, but was off everything after 4 weeks. I was fine during the day, but sleeping sucked so I tried Ambien. Worked great and really helped me get good sleep. I've stopped the Ambien now, but I'm 3 months from getting banged up. Good luck, be patient and get better.

Really?? I’ve had a norco prescription since I was 18. Oddly when I went for my vasectomy 2 weeks ago they said they were cutting me off. I need to see a specialist now
