"He was named CEO of UnitedHealthcare in 2021.

Thompson was one of four UnitedHealthcare executives named in a lawsuit filed by the City of Hollywood Firefighters' Pension Fund in May regarding allegations of insider trading. The suit alleges that Thompson sold $15 million of his shares in company stock before news of the Department of Justice's antitrust investigation into UnitedHealth became public, tanking its shareholder value."

Complaints:
Dept of Managed Healthcare. Dunno what it's latest name is.
Newsom likes to change names, then take credit claiming he created it, something that was already there. Kinda like he tried with Tesla.
Musks ideas and successes are really Newsoms according to Gavin..

We spent a lot of time with the Dept of Managed Healthcare complaints when our son needed several different chemos. Then another bone marrow transplant and UHC balked. We did eventually get help but is it ever heart stressing to deal with.

Your stack of medical paperwork, and I recommend print all UHC correspondence, goes from a single sheet first visit, to 3 inches tall.
Neighbors is two 2" tall folders.

UHC refused, then was forced to cover my Avastin chemo.
I was a gunnea pig, and it was so successful it is now the main weapon against cervical cancer. Also they discovered an antibody that they harvested, and I donated the rights to USC research. I don't want to know what I could have earned for that, I didn't look into it further, but a patient is entitled to compensation. Hold that thought.

Son’s hospital bill from his quad accident was over 500k. My out of pocket was 1500.

Everything comes down to how your coverage is configured. Our UHC coverage is company funded. Huge difference.

Those are the initial billing costs - Before insurance likely beats the overall cost down. I'm not claiming to know 100% but I would assume that is how it works.

My Dad and stepmom where hit head on by a drunk driver without insurance 12 years ago or so. I don't remember all of the charges/costs specifically on the medical bills, but I know they were worked down over 60% from the original medical bills that were submitted. I would assume insurance does the same thing, maybe not?

Well if they denied a claim to someone and they died.. maybe it was some pissed off family member?

RD
Wifie and her staff are convinced that’s it.

BTW: Completely off thread subject:
Friend I mentioned with all the insurance hassle,, walked out of Costco and saw the ‘25 Hummer EV displayed.

He bought it through Photoglu.
Launch with his Doctor son:

0 to 60 in 3.3 sec.

Talking to coworkers and friends over the years that sat on juries with paid hitmen on trial and watching Kenda's Homicides shows, if it was a paid hitman then lots of people will be involved.

Some guy knows a guy that knows a guy that'll do it, money collected and paid in increments, lots of people involved. Usually not just one guy out for vengeance as the triggerman.
Someone will roll over.

The girl clerk at the Hostel should get the $10 grand reward money, but not until someone rolls over on the hitman.

These are the photos of the suspect? They should be looking for someone that can’t cover their nose with a mask. Maybe COVID related? Return to the office requirements?

Again, why are we the tax payers pissing away millions on a manhunt for someone who shot a targeted victim!? It happens MULTIPLE times a day in multiple cities with gang violence, why the effort on this one!?
I’d like to see this type of focus on every murder. I won’t begrudge anyone for trying to catch the shooter on this one.

I’ll bet if this was a gang shooting, you’d be pissed at the effort too. What case would be a good start?

No love lost for guys like that CEO. His salary and bonuses are directly based off of the amount of suffering and misery his company creates by hamstringing doctors and pharmacists. Patient well-being is not part of the equation for them. Fuck em. Even people I know in healthcare smiled at the news. United was the worst of the worst in that industry.

Each day this drags on i feel more and more that this dude has slipped away and will never be found.

IMO this wasn't the first person this guy has popped, he was cool as a cucumber. I can't imagine a first timer dropping someone that non-chalantley, especially in a high stakes urban environment like Manhattan. He was more laid back than a stoned barista at starbucks.

I think the old saying of “don’t hate the player hate the game” is appropriate here.

If the motive and speculation is proven right, the man was killed for doing his job. We as a society have let the insurance/medical industrial complex screw us all for way too long.

Lots of people have jobs that require telling other people no. Are they all overpaid tyrants that need to be dispatched? Or just the ultra wealthy ones?🤔

I wish we lived in a world where bad things didn’t happen and people wouldn’t get sick and die, but that’s not reality.🙁

I’d be fine with it if this type of investigation/investment was normal, as people would actually be getting caught which would actually be a deterrent from acting a fool and crime would drop! REALITY is that this isn’t a “normal” level investigation/investment and it makes no sense why! To me it’s no different than a gang banger getting targeted and smoked. It was targeted, nobody else was harmed, they openly admit there is no direct threat to the community, so why the nation wide manhunt, why the effort to find DNA, on and on. We all know why, but the people need to call for the heads of law enforcement to either do this on EVERY case, or stick to standard protocol and move on!

Dropped cell phone, dropped DNA, yeah I’m starting to think that

With the perfect timing he had beforehand and these 'mistakes' that everyone's talking about AND he's still in the wind; I agree.

I agree. The guy was smiling and living a normal casual life. If someone was targeting the CEO due to a personal loss, there would be much more emotion involved.

Thanks for being the voice of reason. I have experienced loss from this personally in the family, so I'm biased.

I won't go into that, but a smaller and less tragic example of this is that my dad is no longer able to go skiing or water skiing with me. Why? Because he tore an ACL and Kaiser being Kaiser told him to go put ice on it and sent him home. He's tough as nails and believed it LOL. When he found out it was too late. Kaiser isn't in the business of healing people, it's in the business of collecting insurance money (that's a direct quote from a doctor who my buddy is currently dating). And Kaiser is actually pretty good relatively speaking!

I guess my thinking is pretty dark, but at a certain point there's nothing else that gets the point across as well as a bullet. I haven't heard one person really defending this guy in the real world, everyone just shrugged or even laughed. You know the business you lead is messed up when young and old, conservative and liberal alike mock you and your company in your death. Nothing unites the country better than hating on health insurance so I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way deep down. I can't think of any other business that has such potential for abuse.

I’m rarely the voice of reason and I don’t consider myself one now either. I’m also not an apologist for the insurance industry if it sounded that way.

Some are happy he was killed. The media is covering this much more than Butler. A well off white man was killed, and the manhunt is on and televised...further upsetting the wackos who applaud the murder.
Never let a crisis go to waste. All eyes on this. What else is going on?

I think that’s gonna entail a lot of hate.🤣 I hate a lot of the rules society puts on me, but that doesn’t mean I wanna kill all the people who are charged with enforcing those rules.

Would be interesting seeing who among the people complaining about health care actually have UNH in their portfolio.

It is up 96% over 5 years.

Heard they have an ID on the shooter!

If he doesn't off himself and this goes to trial, I can imagine it would be pretty tough to assembe an impartial jury when one of the questions has to be "Have you ever been screwed over by an Insurance Co" haha
