Got an opportunity to take the weekend off and run to the north woods for the Tomahawk bike rally. First time I’ve gotten up here during this event. They say 24000 bikes and 40000 people.

Rode part way up with friends to Merrill. Headed the rest of the way to Tomahawk and caught up with more friends. And some new friends. Had some 26 or so bikes on our group ride. Some were friends since grade school, some new friends.

The start of the day

Put a total of about 225 miles today. Chased a few raindrops, but overall a fabulous day!

So Friday night. Added a little bling to the dirtbike trailer. Took the boy to practice on Saturday. Got up at 7am. Planned to be there by 0900. Was loading the bike and found a fuel leak. Got it taken care of and set us back a few hours. Went to Monster Mountain. Impressive track.

So Sunday we started with clean up day. After that I want to run to the fair in BHAM and get a tenderloin sandwich but we stayed at home instead.

Since we didn’t go my daughter decide to go for a horse back ride with neighbor girl. Wearing her helmet is a must but she didn’t this time. About 1830 someone came running in my back door screaming. Thought it was my daughter I said something I probably shouldn’t have it it ended up being the neighbor girl hysterical in tears. Told me sissy fell of the horse, landed on her had started to seize and wouldn’t wake up. So I ran out there to her car with no shoes or socks on, and we we got to the lane she was on (probably 500yards longer I could see he laying there not moving. Probably the scariest moment of my life. About half way back she raised her head up and it was instant relief for me. I threw her in the car and took her home. Carries her to the truck and told my wife to go while I got stuff put up and would be on my way. Neighbor girl said they were standing still and something spooked my daughters horse the the horse just took off and dumped her.

I called my wife after she left because she was going to the same satellite hospital we took Tyler to. They told us if he had any more issues to take him to Baptist South so I told my wife to take her there because I knew she had a concussion. Wife told me to stay at home until she knew something. They found bleeding in the membrane between the skull and Brian which isn’t nearly as serious and she needed to be observed over night, however they don’t keep kids under 18 in that hospital (WTF their satellite hospital sent us there) if no overnight why would they do that. Said no to an ambulance or car ride to Children’s in BHAM so they put her on a chopper. I’m glad she going to be fine but a little pissed about how they handle things. We could have drove her there to begin with as it’s only about 10 miles farther, just in the opposite direction. I beat the helo there (Ford Power) and didn’t sleep for about 40 hours.

Yesterday I had knees surgery on my left knee, and having to soon on my right knee. My neck needs as well but I not really considering it.

Been one fkd up year here for sure

And here is the beauty MRI on my neck.

Damn! @j21black I rarely post here in your neck of the woods. Looking at the post, very cool seeing how the weekend started, taking your boy out racing and such...Then the wheels fell off. My daughter hasn't been tossed yet...yet. I have, and that shit hurts. Seeing the pic of your daughter laid up hits close to home, having a girl that rides. I hope she's doing better. If you get a chance, get some of the hospital packets of their triple anti-biotic ointment. They are like ketchup packets, so easy to carry. It can really help with any scars she may get. As guys we don't really care usually. It does help quite a bit though.
Yes, I hope you get back on your feet too! Looks like you have a lot of stuff to get handled...bikes, horses, kids, etc.

When it rains it pours, it isn't usually anvils, but sometimes...

Share this with her. I haven’t had the come Jesus with her on Helmet wearing yet as she already know better. But it’s coming

I did tell he an hour or so ago if I catch her without one the horses or gone. When she gets
Out on her own, then she can make that decision. She wanted to go to school this afternoon so I dropped her off on my way to PT. She said everything still feels like a dream

She's usually pretty good about a helmet, but I have caught her a couple times. That's going to stop real quick. Hopefully this just ends up being a learning lesson. I always tell my wife I prefer dirtbikes and quads to horses. They don't have a mind of their own. If they hurt you it's because you made a mistake, or the rider near you. Bikes don't spook.

Been there with that 2 already this year with the dirtbike. You can see the crack. So I had to order a new $700 helmet. They gave us 20% a new since it was there Helmet that cracked. I figured they’d want it back for R&D but told us to keep it.

In a couple years he can use it score with the chicks.

After shattering my neck in a car accident, I looked into Hans device for riding. Decided I'm too old...switched to a quad with electric start, and slowed down:(

He has a Leatt chest protector with built in neck brace.

Also has a Kevlar chest protector with no neck brace. I think the Kevlar protector is better. I may just buy the separate neck brace for that on.

Those leatt units are big money.

The Leatt's are big money. That's why I don't have one. I only do recreational riding now, and no longer do the desert truck stuff. I notice now the weight of the helmet itself takes a toll on me on longer rides, so thinking of looking into them again to help support the muscles.

They are pricey, but worth every penny if it's ever needed. I shattered C3 and C4...that first surgery alone would have bought a nice home in SoCal. They probably aren't required for your son, but major "Dad Points" for having one for him. Your boy may not see it now, but he'll appreciate it later.

If you get a new helmet. Get a 6D. Best on the market. Pricey but damn good.

I’m 100% positive the outcome in his crash would have been much worth without that 6D

Now that I have the fiberglass tub dialed in, it is time to bleed the Sea Star steering out. Did notice it was a little loose. I have studied the YouTube page. All set to take it on.

On to a new project. Bought the old Ranger new in 2017. About a week later I ordered a head unit for it.

Couple days ago I stopped by a car audio shop to have a wire fixed in my company truck.

Picked up some speakers while I was there and got started last night. Hope it finish it up this evening.

Best knee surgery I’ve had yet. Hasn’t really slowed me down and haven’t touched the crutches.

Don’t get to cocky with the knee. My last knee surgery I was working on my sons truck. It was doing great, then blew up like a balloon. Had to have a needle put in it and suck out the blood out. Be smart, take it easy.

Got the CC steering serviced Thursday night. Want to take it for a run today. The weatherman has the wife wound up. Not thinking the CC will see the lake today.

Bay Harbor had a Balloon Festival this weekend. Didn’t make it there. Looked cool. It seems once they got across the bay, they started landing in town in Harbor. The wind was calm this morning. We took the RIB to Lake Michigan. In ten minutes out there it went from calm to white caps. We cranked it up and got Back to Boyne for lunch.

Poptart was a bit apprehensive till I told her he drove the hula a time or two. :D

Ty did a great job of pulling up to the dock. :):)

It appeared to me that Poptart had the young driver in her right eye while scanning ahead with her left :p
I believe this is also a trait my wife has mastered, just with opposite eyes :D

You use part of the silver to locate the accents.
Dumb decal kit is 135 bucks. First one was destroyed in shipping.

Been waiting and waiting to put some wax on the cowl.:mad::mad:
