What are the odds someone has a deposit on a luxe and a speed?

Asking for a friend

I know you wouldn’t be interested in hearing it but they are actually delivering a lot of cars right now and things seem to be going pretty well..

Thank you for your thoughtful insight to the conversation though

So for those wanting some numbers

Initial deposit made I wanna say it was 10k
Then once hull was out of the mold another 1/3 was requested. At that point motors were ordered and paid for upon receipt. Took about 6 months to get them as at the time the 500’s just came out. Another deposit was made for the stereo and this was the last one till delivery. Then final balance due

Well motors were paid for and then put on another boat. And shortly after that the investors pulled out. (April time frame of 2024) curt scrambled and tried to get a boat or two out to regain interest or create cash flow but that didn’t happen.

After months of back and forth doors are closed and my buddy has his incomplete boat in his garage.

I have heard of at least 3 people screwed with partial boats and I know of 2 more personally that are out a deposit right now

*** edit that the motors were paid for by the customer not LUXE

So he has a complete boat less power? Or is the boat missing other things?

So you are saying you are not a luxe customer?

The thread went predictably sideways because you and some other members got into name calling and away from the actual topic.

If you’d like to talk about the topic and your experience, or even a friends experience if it’s accurate, I think you’d find it predictably on topic?
I thought he said he had a 100k deposit out? I can keep up. I almost feel like he’s just poking looking for reactions now.

I never said I was a customer. I have not given Luxe a dollar, but know personally and have talked to several people that have.

Members were too busy calling Luxe customers names for trying to buy a boat. These were typical members you’d expect I suppose.

I’ve said all needs to be said. I led with I like Curt on the first page. I’m sure he didn’t mean for things to go this direction, but they did. Any talk of this situation has been absent from this site, and it’s been going on a year. The people I know just wanted their boats and some bent over backwards to try to help the business back on its feet.

This didn’t happen in a vacuum and these customers aren’t idiots that stroked checks and walked away from the process. Things were good for awhile and then games were played that got exposed, and the house of cards fell.

Customers have 6 figures into their boats is what I said.

I don’t need a reaction. You don’t have to believe any of it. I’ve seen one of the incomplete boats the owner is in possession of. The situation is real.

Lmfao why are @Bpracing1127 and @Floaterboat defending those who actually have skin in the game?

Because those who have lost money have either sought council or are embarrassed about what happened.

This is a pretty simple lawsuit if you want to take it that far.

I can’t find that statement anywhere?
I may have missed it.
I read that he said customers have hundreds of thousands out.
I read that as a combined amount, not an individual amount?

Nothing from nothing is nothing.

And there was talk that the wrong person may have been crossed in this deal. I hope that is inaccurate.

He edited it. I think on page 2 or 3 I asked him to lay out the payment process that’s when it changed.

Completely incorrect. Where is my edited post then? There are timestamps, it should be right there. Dave and even help you look. 🤣

Should be a simple lawsuit, but if shop is closed, getting anything will be difficult.

Spend more money on lawyers to win judgement only not to collect. Or spend that money trying to finish boat.

Maybe I’m wrong. Reguardless customers should be made whole.

You know more than most, of how to get an issue like this across the finish line. My guess is that your playbook does not include having “buddies” start a drama thread in a forum lol.

If the customer paid Mercury direct for the motors, they would have an itemized receipt with serial numbers.

That document could be used to get your motors back from whatever boat they were installed on after a few legal moves.

Just like always.

Inside of 90 days they will be calling for the owners of Luxe’s head on a pike,
I don’t think anyone is arguing that the customers were not provided the product they were promised. And in some cases they were shorted 100k+. Which is also absolutely not ok.

People are questioning why customers are shocked that they got burned after depositing 100k+ for no production, motor etc. If I deposited a 100k and provided no progress all of my clients would hit the brakes until everything was worked out

Motors were delayed on delivery, but then another check was cut for the stereo…..

If I cut a 100k check for motors and they’re delayed I expect a phone call from the Mercury Rep. Otherwise my builder can take that 100k and keep building my hull. I’m not financing both Mercury and my builder on the motor that may or may not come.

It’s pretty sad that some of you are teasing people who are out of money. Calling them dumb.

Regardless the sum. They wanted something nice, trusted the company in good faith and dropped down hard earned money.

I hope you don’t come on here asking for a helping hand if you’re in a jam or make a poor decision. It would be tough to have sympathy for you on that high horse of yours right now…

Show some compassion for all involved…

Hopeful for a good outcome for both the business and the customers.

Have you noticed not one LUXE “owner” has participated ? There sure are a lot of buddies though.
Honest question.
How many were finished and delivered. I think I have seen 2 or 3 out on the lake. Most were around SCFW

Not sure about Eliminator. I just wanted to comment regarding the year after year quality of Cobra.

Would you? Just to be reminded by inmates how your an idiot and should have known better?

I’d keep my mouth shut….

If I seriously got taken for 10-200k while intending to spend 300-400k cash. I’d call a shark of an attorney and tell them to give the corporation one chance to come to the table and figure out a solution. And I’d probably say give them one more chance just in case. And then I’d say go after them.

After all, I’ve got a few hundred at the ready.

I’d be horrified if any friend started a thread like this when I’m in a lawsuit. There’s literally no good that come from it. Do people really think LUXE will just call all customers and say “sorry about that, we’ll finish the boats.” As a corporation their best move is to shut down and go away. Assuming everything in this thread is true.

There’s no law against being a shitty business owner, but you can at least get yourself into position (suing the business) to own the assets.

I’m not saying this at all, but let’s say this is absolutely a criminal scam, then let your attorney eat and get you something.

He was installing stereos but not sure he was a employee. I remember he ended up with the hull that sat at Cobra for a long time and finished it. Then he had that nice twin engine eliminator. I figured he was making money elsewhere to afford those boats but none of my business.

Cobra has a new owner since Jeff. They are doing a lot better. If you recall I had a issue with Hernando and so did many others. I had more issues with my new Ultra build and posted numerous times warning people. And people still handed them money and every 6 months there was posts about getting screwed from ultra m

There is a member on the first page that said PM for his story.

The post is still there.

What we don’t know is. Would the thread have gone the same way “if” a Luxe owner posted.

One did and it has.. he’s been told he’s an idiot investor by RDP for losing his deposit.

After this, why would the other owners out there want to join and tell a bunch of nosy dudes their story? Curt is certainly not going to post about it.

He wasn’t up on composites at the time.

We had a disagreement on catalyst for the current climate.
I was pretty much an asshole.
Been known to be on occasion😎

I don’t dislike the guy.
He gave it his all.
At the Big E and and after into Luxe.
Gotcha. He built that havasu vice speedster if I remember correctly
